I will never understand why people join gangs instead of studying and try to make an honest living. I couldn't get it when i was a teenager and i still don't get it in my 40's.

TRG was the dominant gang up here in Lowell Massachusetts back in the 90s. They committed some of the most heinous murders in the city's history. You definitely don't mess with those boys. Lowell has a huge Cambodian population, second only to Long Beach CA in the US. So weird to hear about TRG after all these years.

I completely understand in the 80s and the 90s because everyone were picking on Khmer,Laos,and Vietnamese who just arrived in the US. But these new and young born and raised in the US without any language barrier to still be doing this so called gang thing, you basically don’t know the history to why the older generations did it. Myself and other friends who were targeted and beaten including losing some friends all because we didn’t speak or understand English. We were targeted by non Asian. Now the Asians are killing each other over the stupid gangs. When you arrive in prison, you will deal with the non Asian and you will be forced to unite with all Asians. I was in prison for six years when I was 15 years old for fighting back on two Hispanic men attempting to kill me and my two friends. Since I didn’t know the language I ended up doing time. After I was released and got off parole. I enlisted in the Army, graduated from the University and started a few successful businesses. So my advice to anyone who thinks that gangs are the best way to go, I would advise you to rethink that is the worst decision you’re going to make for the rest of your life.

Gangs since the 90s affected so many communities, schools, and families. I worked with juvenile offenders from Las Vegas to Boston at a private prison here in the southeast Texas area and when they turned 18 would go to assigned prison to do life sentences. As a LPC, LCDC who worked in most facets of the criminal justice system, minors was my forte. I've had a theory about gangs for years that first offenders should be put in the Marines then commitment to whatever the sentences are.❤

When I grew up in the 70’s we handled our problems with each other by meeting after school and “ working it out”. One on one. I personally think gangs are a p*##y way to live. Bunch of killer punks that couldn’t fight their way out of a wet paper sack, so they congregate to have each others backs.

Back in the early 2000s TRG was running the streets of south Seattle.. I had no idea they were still a thing.. of course not all are horrible but I have had my share of some pretty crazy moments with a few as a female back in the day.
