Excellent video and well explained as always in terms of tools and approach. A real game of patience. Watching totally banjaxed panels get fixed, oddly, is very therapeutic to watch. Very happy customer there. Happy Christmas.
Thank You Nigel for your great comment. It was a brain teaser and took a while so I needed patience! End results are great though and satisfaction Merry Christmas Martin
Yup I agree! I hated repairing this!! Skins are not so popular these days, I fitted a lot in my time and to get that seal and paint on the edges can be hard. Better a new door or a repair and paint….. but I saved it “just” and my customer was super happy ! Thanks for your kind words
Thank you showing us how to complete these type of repairs. I just acquired an Airstream travel trailer that need many dents repaired hail and accident damage. Tools are coming in a couple of days and we will see how it goes.
That was a tough one Martin. Great job and moaning is a normal thing in jobs like this. Sometimes I have to take a break for longer to come back to repair so thumbs up for that job! Excellent!
Hi Karol thanks for your comment, I don’t get many jobs where I’m struggling like that one! It just wouldn’t repair! I got there in the end and my customer was very happy so that’s the main thing. I agree sometimes it’s best to walk away and come back to a job Thanks again Martin
Hi James thanks for your comment… yes Glue pulling or GPR as it’s more commonly known now is ideal for Ali, because the welding pin pullers are difficult to use (my experience 15 yrs ago) and glue is a lot faster and better for the repair…. You never know you may repair it to an acceptable standard with practice and not have to re paint Have a great Christmas
Hi Martin, Wonderful work, you did look a bit fed up on that one..! Love watching your channel, i find it very calming to watch, and learn at the same time. I have a classic car collection of approx twenty vehicles, i am tempted to buy some tools and have a go at a few car park dings....
Hi W Jones Thank you and yes that MG was horrible to repair!! Such a chewy- plastic feel to the metal but I think I got it! I’m very happy you enjoy the channel! And learn also. Regards trying this, I would definitely try a small course first. You may damage your car and it end up costing you a lot more in re working or ruining a classic and wishing you hadn’t tried it.
Great work. The lift which brings the vehicle to eye level must help a great deal in doing these lower door dents. Merry Christmas to you and yours from 🇨🇦
Hi Frank yes 100% that’s the main reason I got it, my knees where getting bad while I was a mobile repairer and I knew I had to get a place out of the weather elements and a ramp! Merry Christmas 🎅
Great job as always. I bought a glue kit about a year ago and still haven’t used it as yet lol. Recently got a different car with a few dents here and there which I’m going to tackle when the weather is a bit warmer. 😬🙏
Thank you! Make sure you take your time with the glue system. If your not sure then stop and call a local tech. It would be a good idea to chat with a local one first anyway just so you don’t make it worse Good luck Martin
Hi Sanyachanal I hope I have the correct language (Hindi)
Hi Bill, yes your right and I do do the technique you mention on most repairs, I just struggled with this repair Thanks for your comment and happy new year!
Nice work. Curious how the paint will last long term in this area, if adhesion has been compromised and this becomes first place for future rust to occur?
Hi Doug thanks for your comment. If the paint isn’t compromised then there’s no chance of it going rusty in the future. The paint is fully adhered to the damaged panel and won’t change. If the paint comes away or is compromised then a repaint is the best option to re seal the area with fresh paint. Does this answer your question? Thanks Martin
@@dentremover01 I don't know that I agree. The paint has been stretched, stressed because of the dent forming and then metal manipulation to get back to it's initial shape. There has to be some microstructure break down in the paint or loosening of the bound to the substrate. It would be interesting how a salt spray test would perform.
Hi Doug. I’m 25 years I have never heard of any PDR repair rust after a PDR repair If the paint does stretch then it would crack or micro crack and then maybe your correct- but all the repairs I’ve carried out the paint has been in 100% condition and therefor not compromised. Great indepth comment thank you it’s appreciated
Hi Massimo thanks! Yes sure you can, you just have to go careful and even repaired (filler) panels can be saved but again it’s a very fine line and a steady process Happy christmas mate
Hi Brian thanks for your comment. Yes they could have come in handy but I reckon I’d have messed the holes up. I don’t want another like this that’s for sure!! All the best
@@dentremover01 I think its called a rocker panel. Like where a side skirt would be but this car is too basic for that stuff. But I can see that its all one panel which extends up past the fuel flap and onto the roof. So replacing that panel probably wouldn't be worth it. I think it's metal so a panel beater could probably repair it.
Looked like that one was fighting back a bit Martin, but you kept your cool and got the better of it! Cracking job as always! 😉
Thanks Jake! Yeah just a bit! You could tell by the tone of my voice and my moaning lol!!!
Jake, GREAT TO SEE U ON HERE! Hope all is well!
Happy Christmas to you and yours!
@@dingking7577 I'm good thanks, Merry Christmas to you and yours too! 👍
Hey.... you are the first dent guy I've seen wearing nitrile gloves!!! Good life saving choice!
Thanks Jim! I try to wear them as much as I can, because the acetone/isopropyl messes my hands up and goes all horrible !
Thanks for watching
Martin
After watching this again Martin I have to say this is moved from PDR to PCR (PAINTLESS COLLISION REPAIR).
AGAIN BEAUTIFUL JOB!
Hey Tommy! Thank you! I never thought of that! Could be a new part of the industry like GPR! PCR you heard it here first! 🙌🏼

I have been able to remove most of the bigger dents out, but still need the refine my techniques to remove the damage completely.
Wave and ripple city I bet
Excellent work Martin. This looked like a very technical dent. As always, you got it done. Thank you for sharing these repairs. 👍

Satisfaction when customer is happy giving something special ☺️
Yes that’s the best part!
Awesome sauce, it takes a lot of patience. I have used glue pulling on aluminum panels works great. Pulled it out enough to do body work and paint.

Nice one Martin - there's another repair where a lateral pulling rig would be dead handy & speed things up a lot for you.

How can I repair a dent which is in the bit that runs under the doors?
If it’s the Sill then it may not be repairable with PDR
I’d always recommend speaking with a PDR tech first
