Thanks Julia, hope you had a good Christmas. I wouldn't be without the sheet deburring tool, before I found them my hands were covered in cuts. Plenty more to come on the loco!! All the best, Matt 👍🚂
I hated sheet metal work when I was a fitter, lol. I worked for Ford Motor Company in the factory for 15 years, but I spent the last 5 years in the new machine shop that used to be an oil store. The new chief engineer bought some really nice second-hand machine tools from a college: a shaper, three lathes, two milling machines, and a surface grinder. I did not have to work shifts anymore! I just made one or two offs. Great job in an immaculate workshop. The they closed down😒
As an arc welder and angle grinder man whose engineering skills are at best agricultural I never fail to be impressed by the quality of your work. Thanks for a year of great content. Looking forward to seeing what you get up to in 2025.
Thanks Rick, much appreciated as always. Who knows what may happen in 2025, my predictions for 2024 didn't exactly go to plan 😂😂.... we shall make it up as we go along! All the best, Matt 👍🚂
I think you should re-make the cylinder skins again so we can see how you fold them. Only joking! Many thanks Matt for sharing your excellent engineering skills with us throughout 2024. Wishing yourself and your viewers a Very Happy New Year! See you in 2025. - Fletch -
Many Thanks Fletch, much appreciated. There were a few norse sounding words in the workshop when I realised it had not recorded the folds. All the best for the new year, I have no idea what we will get up too, but hopefully it involves steam! All the best, Matt 👍🚂
Looking great my friend - puts my 2mm Zintec, rolled in the vice with a bit of round bar to shame. Not long now until them wheels be a rotating! Happy new year to you and yours. G
Now then Kev, These little vice benders come in very handing!! I got mine from Stakesys, link here..... stakesys.co.uk/sheet-metal-folders/v-brake-kits/vice-mounted-folder Hope you had a great Christmas! All the best, Matt 👍🚂
@@MattChiversWorkshop Sorry Matt I meen the quill, than I understand. So you have to make a DRO on the quill. That's easy, I made one to the quill. I never use the Z-axis for drilling because there is an power feet on the Z-axis.
😂 my bed is not that bad 😂😂, they are just witness marks on the Bridgeport.... yeah witness to poor operators abuse! Luckily not one of them is mine. All the best, Matt 👍
Bloody good work mate
👍👍.

Very nice work mister. That engine looks great.
That deburring tool looked excellent. Nice to see some progress on the loco 😀

Brilliant work, Matt.
Cardboard Aided Design :) good one 👍
Thanks Alan, sometimes you have to use modern technology 😂. All the best, Matt 👍🚂

That's a shame!! I was a master of sheet metal work with no tools, now I can use the tools too 😂. All the best, Matt 👍
Impressive. I’m very jealous of your workshop and excellent skills!
Thanks Paul, much appreciated. All the best, Matt 👍🚂
That was a good 2024! Looking forward to seeing the work in 2025! Cheers to all, Ian
Thanks Ian, was definitely a good year, can't wait to get rolling with next year!! All the best, Matt 👍🚂

@@MattChiversWorkshop cheers Matt
Hy Matt, why do you drill with the Z-axis instead the pinole ?
Hi, I'm not sure what a pinole is?! I used the z-axis because it's on the DRO! The quill isn't. All the best, Matt 👍🚂
