Far below freezing here (Washington State) it is a real pleasure to see the shop work flow as I am partly driven to my study as my shop frozen a bit. For me it;s as where I can take note and plan best tool refit to spring. And getting back to various repair. Thanks for having me along. Regards, M. McGary

Every time I see those old belt driven pulleys it reminds me of one of my first jobs when I was just a teenager and we had to keep an old leather belt driven freight elevator going. I learned from an old timer how to make and splice the 4-inch and 6-inch belts. It's a lost art. I still have one of the tools that we put into a big bench vise to push the Staples through the leather.

I have a question for You.
Josh Topper is repairing his steam engine and in a resent episode he line bore the cylinder.
Then he will fabricate an aluminum piston to replace the old and warned cast iron piston.
In my mind there should be no issues for the new piston inside the cylinder. My thoughts lay in the balance of the system, given the new piston is a good bit lighter than the original.
Might there be a risk of vibrations du to this?
Thanks for all educational video is of Yours!

Yes! Low rev machinery might not suffer from vibrations but the counter waits on the Morse steam engine suggest otherwise.
