Honestly I do this pretty often when I get matched up against phantom knights going second. I ain't got the time to sit there for an hour, I'd rather just surrender and move on with my life. That being said, Flower Cardians are pretty based, so I'd probably let them go off.
I feel like if Master Duel had preset taunts/messages or something that could be spammed, I'd surrender out of boredom less often. Spamming "Wow!" or "Good game!" or whatever as someone's trying to go through their plays at least adds some psychological interactions if I lack gameplay interactions.
Banquet of Millions is the quintessential example of this. Everyone had to run less than 13 card extra decks to avoid being FTKed. Thank god they hit DD dynamite.
I mean take any gimmick deck and if you have thousands of bot accounts running it 24/7 then people will start teching against it like you would in BO3.
A searchable Lava Golem would unironically be pretty good. Shame that no Toon monsters can beat over it, so you'd be hurting yourself more than your opponent.
@@ashblossomandjoyoussprung.9917 What are you talking about, Toon BLS can crash with it or just outright banish it through its banishment effect, or if you're super desperate you can Comic Hand it or XYZ summon Big Eye to steal it, plenty of ways for a Toon deck to deal with a 3k attack monster, heck theoretically you could Play Blue Eyes toon dragon to crash into such a monster pre-BLS.
If you wanna meme hard you can add a Floowandereeze and the Unexplored Winds to a Monarch deck. It's like a continuous stormforth that you can also use to tribute backrow
clarity on cardian, its not nibiru thats the problem, a good cardian player will laugh at the prospect of being nibbed and then keep going by keeping a koi koi in the gy and a stacking in hand. the big issue the deck has is droll, which is often sided in the tcg, but rarely seen in MD. of course, yes maxx c ftk is also very much a thing, and a thing im proud to say ive done several times

Locked out the gy and nothing can be done about that, 2 s/t negates, can't be targeted or destroyed by effects, 1500 burn in draw phase, negate the effects of anything battled is as much a win con as many other decks can produce

I do not understand how so many people are mad about a card that is only ran in one of the worst and fragile decks in the game. Rhongo isn't even PKs normal combo, they need to draw extenders to make it and pray you dont have any interruption. I think he is fairly balanced rn, especially after adventure most PK decks dropped him. Rhongo is a card that is weak vs handtraps but strong vs going 2nd staples which is a neat trade off compared to all the handtrap resistant stuff that dies to drnm or droplet.

Sounds like a runic player I played the other day All they did was recycle their spells and banish my deck No monster played by them, and I couldn't even set up a real board because of hand traps I ended up forfeiting with 13 cards left in my deck with all my monsters banished

I can sometimes make VFD with 2 Cruel Whale. However Whale is also part of a spiffy handtrap interaction with Edge Imp Scythe which protects the whale. Sometimes you can even chain block this effect if you use the right Fluffal.
I wish I was a better Fluffal player so I could understand this thread. I just built it because it looked fun to turn cute stuffed animals into demonic abominations (and it is.)

Honestly the limit on Conquistador was terrible only because some eldlitch replaced it with golden land forever or beast, both make what used to be an easy w with I. P. avramax into a much more difficult one.

Here are some suggestions for future threads: Things that can somehow be negated by Ash or Belle (Ash stops all the Plunder ED monsters from doing anything) Archetype cards that do not help their own archetypes playstyle in the slightest(Chronomaly mayan machine being a 2 tribute material for machines when chronomalies have no 2 tribute monsters) Cards that were really expensive at release but dropped in price rapidly after a bit of testing. Bizarre rulings that only exist because konami said so.

Instead, the game has a rule where Trigger effects that special from the hand are once per copy per chain for no reason (so for example you can chain Fairy Tail Snow in the same chain twice but if it could summon from hand you wouldn’t be able to do it from hand twice)… except that Gamma is a Fast effect, not a Trigger.
I added it as soon as I noticed it was unbanned in my Harpie deck. Works like a charm to go into Smorg into a 2nd link, either Doom Eagle or Harpie Conductor, and special Apex or Barrier wind statue at the end
Every FTK enabler is much better in Master Duel, and it's *miserable*. At least 40% of the time, you're not playing yugioh, and at least 50% of the rest of the time, you're going up against sacky broken cards that are banned in the TCG. And you have to devote so much deck space to hand traps and equalizers for every situation.
Yeah MD gets exponentially more boring after you leave Rookie ranks. Because nowadays you can run into the same meta relevant, 25 staples+ 16 cards of whatever your deck is actually supposed to be as low as Bronze 4.

Yugioh is just not a Bo1 game. You would have to heavily restrict card releases and availability like in Duel Links to make it somewhat work but for whatever reason though, Konami thinks MD banlist is fine. Even if they add a Bo3 queue with side decking they would still need to revamp that banlist. Its such a dogshit banlist.

even just "cannot activate effects on the field the turn you activate" would be fantastic. I get the argument for maxx C as a way to stop combo decks from going off. I don't 100% agree, but I could accept the card if it primarily benefited the player going second. But it doesn't. Mathematically speaking, maxx C is more beneficial to the player going *first.* A lot of decks draw a few extra cards off their combo, and if they have a negate up for your ash/called by/whatever, there's not much you can do. Odds are if you drew Ash in your five card opener you already used it on their turn anyway. Good luck breaking the combo board when every single play you make nets them even more advantage. You haven't known pain until you've successfully handtrapped Drytron down to one card in hand, it turns out to be maxx C, and on your first special they draw Eva.
In fairness to nemesis corridor, I was playing a funny prank-kid brave list when meow was still at 1 that ended on verte into thunder dragon fusion into butler so I could turn 3, after using the meow banish for double raigeki, banish the thundra fusion to grab corridor, recycle meow, and then also have extra accesscode material along with the followup prank kid line. It wasn't as powerful as the dpe builds with souls etc, but it still won a few decently sized locals!
I don’t hate Maxx C but given that most of my experience comes from Master Duel - I have some TCG experience but not as much as I’ve played MD - I might just be coping

Honestly I'm the same way. I get that Maxx C is a card that shouldn't be legal at 3 copies, but I hardly use it or run into it. I run it in all my decks but most of the time it just sits there in my hand or gets Ash'd anyways. It seems like I never actually get it to resolve.
You can summon Draglubion and Numeron Dragon with 2 level 4's. Just use Utopia Dragonar and Hyper-Rank-Up-Magic Utopiforce. It's like a better version of the Double or Nothing! OTK for Utopia decks and doesn't brick your deck if you draw the spell card or get Ash Blossomed. If you run ZS - Ascended Sage you can get a 29K attack Numeron Dragon using any other level 4 monster.. and Ascended Sage is searchable with Reinforcements of the Army, Zexal Construction, or Utopic Sage so you can summon it consistently. I use that combo a lot if I'm going 2nd with my Onomat deck. They should honestly ban Hyper-Rank-Up-Magic Utopiforce. It's literally a free 4 material Utopia Dragonar and free material for everything it summons. Limiting it wouldn't do anything since it's easily searchable and can activate from the GY every turn.
“Floowandereeze” is probably the weirdest name ever. I don’t think that that name even means anything. If I want weird card names, I’d rather choose “Interplanetarypurplythorny Dragon”. At least that one contains actual words.
I am just now watching this video, but a few months back I drew exodia off of a first turn Maxx C because the Cardian player thought he could deck me out. Oh, how the turn tables... XD
I know almost nothing about the TCG but Cyber Stein has gotta be played more in Master Duel than in the TCG since it's apparently unlimited in the TCG, and there's no way to side in cards for the Cyber Stein FTK in Master Duel or that one deck that summons Exterio + four Link material Apolusa turn 1.
MD has made the game nice and accessible for most people who are not going to spend hundreds on irl cards or play on a bland simulator who's community is almost all playing top tier decks and have their combos memorized to a T. due to that you have a community that is way more fun for people of all levels to participate in and grow
In early master duel you had to chainblock shizukus end phase search with multirole or vice versa, because they forgot to properly code end phase triggers. Hilariously this made striker *worse* because youd always rather resolve shizuku for a quick play, use it then immediately reset it with multirole
I like using the Draglubion Numeron Dragon in Despia because if you make Despian Quareitis with Dramaturge, you can zero out the atk of your opponent's board and also get the Draglubion out for free when Dramaturge special summons itself.

the worst thing is that non of the playability changes come from maxx c being legal. tcg players are simply of the mindset that winning is more important than not losing so we don't care about playing decks that don't lose to maxx c making it not a speed limit but instead simply i go first build an unfair best of 1 board and then activate maxx c. i think maxx c would be way better if it had the gorz clause of you can't have anything on the field to activate it, that way you can at least activate dark ruler to break a board and actually win of that instead of letting your opponent draw 10 to get nibed and lose anyways.
Changes like that don't fix the fundamental issue with Maxx C. Also that's not how you build a competitive deck. You will always lose in certain situations/matchups so instead of trying to somewhat mitigate them by sacrificing power, consistency or good matchups you should instead focus on improving what your deck is already good at. This is especially true in MD, where there's not only bo1, but also a ton of "win button" cards running around absolutely unchecked - you won't be able to prepare for everything, so instead you just accept a losr when it happens, and try to make sure you win more games when it doesn't. It's not players' problem, it's just a shitty format.
Maxx C never resolves. There are 3 copies of maxx C and 8 copies of the anti maxx C out. 8 in 40 is 1 in 5 which means you statistically should open a maxx c out every game. Maxx C would be better if it had the Pot of Greed clause of being on the banlist.
max c is a prime example of a card that just aged in a way that changed its use. a max c like card would be far better if it drew for every 3 special summons and needs end phase discards to make the hand 3/4 so that their is an actual cost to limit the benefits past the activation turn.

Im glad Cruel Whale got included. As a fluffal player, making whales into xyz plays is my only turn 1 option. It's such a good turn 2 OTK deck, I'm glad it has something reliable if you lose coin flip. A lot more fun playing a deck that does lose at the turn zero 50/50
I played Golden Land Forever with Eldlich/Zombie World deck. But TCG mindset, if I have to give up something that doesnt replace or draw atleast 1 card. Its subpar. Its kinda like...Pollinosis.
I'm just a casual but I play a decent amount of MD and Maxx c is the only thing that makes sitting through someone's 15 deck searching mini game bearable imo

What's really wrong with maxx C.? It doesn't stop your opponent from doing anything, just gives an opportunity to make a comeback if they spam special summons. Im pretty sure the OCG never banned it at all
Maxx C gives way too much card advantage without any effort required, and for some decks it can really mean that their turn ends because they can't stop all the card advantage the opponent gets, so they are forced to have weaker boards, again, without any skill involved from the Maxx C player. At least with Ash Blossom you can play around it. That is the reason that I dislike it at least, but there are many players who like the card, so I guess it depends on what format you like. And while it never got banned in the OCG that doesn't really mean much. OCG and TCG have different metas.
Maxx C is a LITERAL GOD CARD. It has no draw cap so its quite unfair and it presents a FALSE duality. Sure I can pass turn with no interuptions. Thats an easy way to lose to Accesscode immedately after. Or I can try to make a board but that would be soiled due to the sheer card advantage abd potential other handtraps drawn from Maxx C. And if a board cant be estaished...ima get Accesscoded. Thank god this card is forever banned in the TCG. Literal autowin button. Maybe if it had a draw cap of 2 itd be balanced.

@@filipemaciel5619 The effort is the opponents. Its their fault. They can choose to basically make it a negate if they stop special summoning. When someone puts a Maxx C in their deck they either have opponents who special summon and choose to keep doing so, or they have dead cards. It's not even a tuner like Ash Blossom, its literally useless outside of a specific circumstance. Turns can likewise effectively end for many decks when an Ash Blossom or Effect vailer or what have you gets played. The difference is with Maxx C they actually get a choice. They can say: "go on, draw your 20 cards, I'm about to put out so many omni negates and unaffected cards that picking up your whole deck won't even matter." (It should be pointed out that sometimes this is a really good feeling) Or that player can just preform a single special summon, making the Maxx C a +0 The OCG might have developed its own meta, but so does Master duel, And changing or diversifying the Meta is always good for a card company ( because card demand and stagnation and all that standard crap card companies use to validate selling new cards.) And as you said OCG is a different Meta. So is Master Duel. And it should frankly stay that way. The more alternative environments with more alternative Meta decks could give more people's favorite decks a potential chance to somewhere someday maybe actually be remotely playable. Instead of just waiting for a ban list to change the format you can just jump onto or off of Master Duel to play in an entirely different Meta. (This also again, allows the physical cards to keep a certain value rather than just being a physical game that's harder to find people to play with) It's not an unfair card at all, not even close. It's at the mercy of the person you play it on. I'd genuinely rather be hit with a Maxx C summoning from the deck than an Ash Blossom, because all I did was put them at +0 and I still got my card out. If the opponent doesn't want to do their combo at the price they can always normal summon, set and maybe do lots of clever things during their opponents turn if they got something more versatile.
TCG has something called 'Simultaneous Effects Go On Chain', which allows Noctovision to chainblock Striker Dragon, or Parallel eXceed to chainblock Crusadia Magius
While Trickstar isn’t bad. Maxx c turns as long game of thousands of cards to make your opponent draw into just a few Special Summons. The most common board (1 Lycoris, 1 Light Stage, 1 Dark Room of Nightmares) just needs the opponent to draw 8 times for 8000 LP worth of damage
Lies, it actually makes Cyberdarks a menace in MD unless you drew Harpie's. You don't see it as often, because other decks have better tools for locking you out (like VFD or Rhongho). It's better than in TCG, but the banned cards do it even better than UC. If some of those cards got banned? UC might get some extra use instead.

Maxx “C”) just cause not doing so inherently leaves you at a huge disadvantage

Ruinforce is also better in Master Duel by itself. It’s a 4600 Omni-negate in the BP and half’s your opponents LP. In a Best of 1 it’s an OTK enabler

I can sometimes make VFD with 2 Cruel Whale.
However Whale is also part of a spiffy handtrap interaction with Edge Imp Scythe which protects the whale.
Sometimes you can even chain block this effect if you use the right Fluffal.

Things that can somehow be negated by Ash or Belle (Ash stops all the Plunder ED monsters from doing anything)
Archetype cards that do not help their own archetypes playstyle in the slightest(Chronomaly mayan machine being a 2 tribute material for machines when chronomalies have no 2 tribute monsters)
Cards that were really expensive at release but dropped in price rapidly after a bit of testing.
Bizarre rulings that only exist because konami said so.

Instead, the game has a rule where Trigger effects that special from the hand are once per copy per chain for no reason (so for example you can chain Fairy Tail Snow in the same chain twice but if it could summon from hand you wouldn’t be able to do it from hand twice)… except that Gamma is a Fast effect, not a Trigger.

I added it as soon as I noticed it was unbanned in my Harpie deck. Works like a charm to go into Smorg into a 2nd link, either Doom Eagle or Harpie Conductor, and special Apex or Barrier wind statue at the end

Every FTK enabler is much better in Master Duel, and it's *miserable*. At least 40% of the time, you're not playing yugioh, and at least 50% of the rest of the time, you're going up against sacky broken cards that are banned in the TCG. And you have to devote so much deck space to hand traps and equalizers for every situation.
Yeah MD gets exponentially more boring after you leave Rookie ranks. Because nowadays you can run into the same meta relevant, 25 staples+ 16 cards of whatever your deck is actually supposed to be as low as Bronze 4.

Yugioh is just not a Bo1 game. You would have to heavily restrict card releases and availability like in Duel Links to make it somewhat work but for whatever reason though, Konami thinks MD banlist is fine. Even if they add a Bo3 queue with side decking they would still need to revamp that banlist. Its such a dogshit banlist.

I'd love Maxx C if it had some kind of restrictions or downside like not being able to deal damage during the following turn or even not being able to special summon next turn maybe.
even just "cannot activate effects on the field the turn you activate" would be fantastic. I get the argument for maxx C as a way to stop combo decks from going off. I don't 100% agree, but I could accept the card if it primarily benefited the player going second. But it doesn't. Mathematically speaking, maxx C is more beneficial to the player going *first.* A lot of decks draw a few extra cards off their combo, and if they have a negate up for your ash/called by/whatever, there's not much you can do. Odds are if you drew Ash in your five card opener you already used it on their turn anyway. Good luck breaking the combo board when every single play you make nets them even more advantage.

In fairness to nemesis corridor, I was playing a funny prank-kid brave list when meow was still at 1 that ended on verte into thunder dragon fusion into butler so I could turn 3, after using the meow banish for double raigeki, banish the thundra fusion to grab corridor, recycle meow, and then also have extra accesscode material along with the followup prank kid line. It wasn't as powerful as the dpe builds with souls etc, but it still won a few decently sized locals!

Honestly I'm the same way. I get that Maxx C is a card that shouldn't be legal at 3 copies, but I hardly use it or run into it. I run it in all my decks but most of the time it just sits there in my hand or gets Ash'd anyways. It seems like I never actually get it to resolve.

You can summon Draglubion and Numeron Dragon with 2 level 4's. Just use Utopia Dragonar and Hyper-Rank-Up-Magic Utopiforce. It's like a better version of the Double or Nothing! OTK for Utopia decks and doesn't brick your deck if you draw the spell card or get Ash Blossomed.
If you run ZS - Ascended Sage you can get a 29K attack Numeron Dragon using any other level 4 monster.. and Ascended Sage is searchable with Reinforcements of the Army, Zexal Construction, or Utopic Sage so you can summon it consistently. I use that combo a lot if I'm going 2nd with my Onomat deck.
They should honestly ban Hyper-Rank-Up-Magic Utopiforce. It's literally a free 4 material Utopia Dragonar and free material for everything it summons. Limiting it wouldn't do anything since it's easily searchable and can activate from the GY every turn.

I know almost nothing about the TCG but Cyber Stein has gotta be played more in Master Duel than in the TCG since it's apparently unlimited in the TCG, and there's no way to side in cards for the Cyber Stein FTK in Master Duel or that one deck that summons Exterio + four Link material Apolusa turn 1.
MD has made the game nice and accessible for most people who are not going to spend hundreds on irl cards or play on a bland simulator who's community is almost all playing top tier decks and have their combos memorized to a T. due to that you have a community that is way more fun for people of all levels to participate in and grow
In early master duel you had to chainblock shizukus end phase search with multirole or vice versa, because they forgot to properly code end phase triggers. Hilariously this made striker *worse* because youd always rather resolve shizuku for a quick play, use it then immediately reset it with multirole
I like using the Draglubion Numeron Dragon in Despia because if you make Despian Quareitis with Dramaturge, you can zero out the atk of your opponent's board and also get the Draglubion out for free when Dramaturge special summons itself.
I wasn’t ready to be called out like that…Draglubion-Numeron Dragon combo is awesome.
I run it in Toons, which is a very fun swerve. Got it from a Danger player's Extra Deck.

the worst thing is that non of the playability changes come from maxx c being legal. tcg players are simply of the mindset that winning is more important than not losing so we don't care about playing decks that don't lose to maxx c making it not a speed limit but instead simply i go first build an unfair best of 1 board and then activate maxx c. i think maxx c would be way better if it had the gorz clause of you can't have anything on the field to activate it, that way you can at least activate dark ruler to break a board and actually win of that instead of letting your opponent draw 10 to get nibed and lose anyways.
Changes like that don't fix the fundamental issue with Maxx C.
Also that's not how you build a competitive deck. You will always lose in certain situations/matchups so instead of trying to somewhat mitigate them by sacrificing power, consistency or good matchups you should instead focus on improving what your deck is already good at. This is especially true in MD, where there's not only bo1, but also a ton of "win button" cards running around absolutely unchecked - you won't be able to prepare for everything, so instead you just accept a losr when it happens, and try to make sure you win more games when it doesn't. It's not players' problem, it's just a shitty format.
Maxx C never resolves. There are 3 copies of maxx C and 8 copies of the anti maxx C out. 8 in 40 is 1 in 5 which means you statistically should open a maxx c out every game.
Maxx C would be better if it had the Pot of Greed clause of being on the banlist.
max c is a prime example of a card that just aged in a way that changed its use. a max c like card would be far better if it drew for every 3 special summons and needs end phase discards to make the hand 3/4 so that their is an actual cost to limit the benefits past the activation turn.

I played Golden Land Forever with Eldlich/Zombie World deck. But TCG mindset, if I have to give up something that doesnt replace or draw atleast 1 card. Its subpar. Its kinda like...Pollinosis.

What's really wrong with maxx C.? It doesn't stop your opponent from doing anything, just gives an opportunity to make a comeback if they spam special summons.

Maxx C gives way too much card advantage without any effort required, and for some decks it can really mean that their turn ends because they can't stop all the card advantage the opponent gets, so they are forced to have weaker boards, again, without any skill involved from the Maxx C player. At least with Ash Blossom you can play around it. That is the reason that I dislike it at least, but there are many players who like the card, so I guess it depends on what format you like.
And while it never got banned in the OCG that doesn't really mean much. OCG and TCG have different metas.
Maxx C is a LITERAL GOD CARD.
It has no draw cap so its quite unfair and it presents a FALSE duality. Sure I can pass turn with no interuptions. Thats an easy way to lose to Accesscode immedately after. Or I can try to make a board but that would be soiled due to the sheer card advantage abd potential other handtraps drawn from Maxx C. And if a board cant be estaished...ima get Accesscoded.

@@filipemaciel5619 The effort is the opponents. Its their fault. They can choose to basically make it a negate if they stop special summoning.
When someone puts a Maxx C in their deck they either have opponents who special summon and choose to keep doing so, or they have dead cards. It's not even a tuner like Ash Blossom, its literally useless outside of a specific circumstance.
Turns can likewise effectively end for many decks when an Ash Blossom or Effect vailer or what have you gets played.
The difference is with Maxx C they actually get a choice.
They can say: "go on, draw your 20 cards, I'm about to put out so many omni negates and unaffected cards that picking up your whole deck won't even matter."
(It should be pointed out that sometimes this is a really good feeling)
Or that player can just preform a single special summon, making the Maxx C a +0
The OCG might have developed its own meta, but so does Master duel,
And changing or diversifying the Meta is always good for a card company ( because card demand and stagnation and all that standard crap card companies use to validate selling new cards.)
And as you said OCG is a different Meta. So is Master Duel. And it should frankly stay that way. The more alternative environments with more alternative Meta decks could give more people's favorite decks a potential chance to somewhere someday maybe actually be remotely playable. Instead of just waiting for a ban list to change the format you can just jump onto or off of Master Duel to play in an entirely different Meta.
(This also again, allows the physical cards to keep a certain value rather than just being a physical game that's harder to find people to play with)
It's not an unfair card at all, not even close. It's at the mercy of the person you play it on.
I'd genuinely rather be hit with a Maxx C summoning from the deck than an Ash Blossom, because all I did was put them at +0 and I still got my card out.
If the opponent doesn't want to do their combo at the price they can always normal summon, set and maybe do lots of clever things during their opponents turn if they got something more versatile.

TCG has something called 'Simultaneous Effects Go On Chain', which allows Noctovision to chainblock Striker Dragon, or Parallel eXceed to chainblock Crusadia Magius
While Trickstar isn’t bad. Maxx c turns as long game of thousands of cards to make your opponent draw into just a few Special Summons. The most common board (1 Lycoris, 1 Light Stage, 1 Dark Room of Nightmares) just needs the opponent to draw 8 times for 8000 LP worth of damage

Lies, it actually makes Cyberdarks a menace in MD unless you drew Harpie's. You don't see it as often, because other decks have better tools for locking you out (like VFD or Rhongho). It's better than in TCG, but the banned cards do it even better than UC. If some of those cards got banned? UC might get some extra use instead.
