    On this weeks Video
we review this 2005 Honda Accord Euro.. also known as a Acura TSX. This CL9 with the Lux pack is honestly amazing for a 15 year old car & for the PRICE!!! These cars are an absolute bargain and seem to just go forever.. tho speed is not its asset, the Euro makes up for this with comfort, good looks, and a V-TEC.. haha there is a ton of aftermarket parts for the CL9 and with a set of wheels n springs… man can this car really be transformed into a real head turner. I was very surprised by this car on just how well it felt put together and over all driving pleasure.. especially with the 6 speed manual variant it really is a fun car to rip around In & makes for a great cruiser.

I used to own one myself. My favorite mod while I owned the car was removing the mid muffler and replacing the stock mufflers with 9th gen civic si mufflers. Gave it the sound it should've had from the factory!

These cars are incredible, so comfortable inside and double wishbone suspension front and rear, they make incredible track cars with the abilty to be driven day to day. With basic bolt on mods (cold air intake, header, exhaust, rbc inlet manifold, 50 degree vtc gear) its not uncommon to see these make 150-160kw atw while still giving you 10L per 100kms

@@RossReviewsau ive been a nissan guy all my life from the day ive had my license over the last 12 years. Had a 200rwkw r32 gtst, 400kw rb25/30 r33, 300kw rb25 s13, 250kw s15 and currently 600kw s15. It came by coincidence, while i was building my 2.2 stroker sr20 ve motor i needed a daily, picked up an ep3 type r for cheap, needless to say it was mind blowing out of the box how good it was, it would blow the doors off an s15 stock for stock and around a track leave the s15 for dead. Never planned to mod it but before i knew it i had modified it with all the bolt on parts and suspension mods, took it to wakefield and ran faster than most my mates evos there on the day. Now i know the type r and accord euro are 2 different cars, but they share a similar platform and believe it or not the k24s found in the accord is more potent than the k20 in the type r, they respond better and make more power mod for mod. For the euro ive had afew friends ive met after owing my ep3 who drive their accords everyday to work in comfort then take it to the track after changing the wheels over for some semi slicks and believe or not they are very quick, some doing 1.09s around wakefield park with just basic bolt on mods, coilovers and semis

They really do need a reflash to be any fun to drive, in stock form the changeover is at 6000rpm with redline at 7000rpm, while the first cam profile falls off around 4000-4500 giving you a dead spot in the acceleration. Reflashed they change over when the first cam profile dies off and rev to 7800 easily, pulling much harder through the whole rev range. 10/10 best mod I did to mine

    • @BrettObie
      @BrettObie 4 года назад +22

@@gfrizzleshizzlemanizzle You can still reflash the ecu with an auto CL9, it just doesn't make quite as much of a difference as on a manual one, but a reflash and a cold air intake is sub $700 and will make throttle response much more crisp and give it a bit more go throughout most of the rev range.
Headers and a less restrictive cat is a good mod to do after that once you feel like spending a bit more money on it

This was the first car I seriously considered buying, though I ended up with its successor: the Accord Euro CU2. Both gorgeous cars and huge respect to Honda. The biggest downside is that Honda refused to sell the V6 option in Australia, so we're all stuck with NA 4 cylinders. Hopefully Honda brings the Euro back to Australia, because they mainline range bores me.

It’s no surprise that the CL9 was said to have saved the family sedan in Australia during its release. It’s a peppy car with Japanese reliability, enough flair to stand out from the crowd and which doesn’t have the ridiculous price tag of European luxury cars.

I have it on 225/40 R18 tires, FULL BILSTEIN supension(OEM+) original height, sloted/drilled disc brakes and Android 10'' display for ac radio etc...
MOST important thing is to get it reflashed. After that you get 10-15hp at 7900rpm, vtec is activated at 4500rpm, and consume 0.5-1.5L/100km less. just amazing car, and im not even a honda guy.

  • @vladdutz20

You got aux usb and jack input, you have a free slot behind the stereo, and You route it through the glovebox.
The cool things is the steering wheel controls work with the usb input, and also if you press and hold aux, the stereo lights switch off, like a night panel.
I own a facelifted CL9 since july 2019, reflashed ecu and 421 header with test pipe from littlebo.
Because it has MAP sensor it can hold lubed air filters like K&n without any issues.
Mine has about 225hp, and does 0 100 in about 7 seconds and 0 200 in about 28 seconds with 225 45 17 and heavy stock rims.
If you mount 205 55 16 light rims you can do 0 200 in about 22 seconds, so with these light mods it outperforms lots of german sedans with 2 and 3 liter engines.
If you invest about 2k in a euro R short ratio gearbox with lsd you can outperform a 335i bimmer...the cheaper way to get a close ratio box and final drive is to swap the gearbox sprokets with civic type r ep3, about 1k cost....but you drop the speed about 25kmh in 6th, so it is better to keep at least the stock 6th speed for cruising.
Anyway think about it, mine had 56850kms from 2007, one owner, and i payed 4850 euros for it, with extra 900 euros for reflash, header and a set of summer tyres...it is a bargain for a car with lots of options like heated electric seats, sunroof, xenon, 2 zone climate, and a hell of an engine, probably the Best 4 cylinder naturally aspirated engine ever made, with multilink and double wishbones... honestly there isn't a better sedan in europe in it's price category.
2.4 engine in romania has an annual tax of about 200 euros and insurance is 110 euros per year for my score group, whereas a 2.0 tdi has an annual tax of about 40 euros, but over time you end up paying lots more for the diesel maintenance, consisting in injectors, turbo rebuilds, EGR replacement, gaskets, and intake sticky goo buildup...

    • @RossReviewsau
