Hey Bro,
I was working at McDonald's, with the obligatory low pay.
During the pandemic, I said "SCREW IT!!", and pulled the trigger on one of those venerable YesWelders. Shortly thereafter, I started my own welding company.
Needless to say, I now laugh whenever I drive past a McDonald's!!
That is an awesome story. Way to go! Keep up the hard work. Thanks for watching.
I recently had an issue with delivery on a welding helmet I ordered from them. It was entirely the fault of the post office and was NOT YesWelder's fault. I emailed YesWelder about the issue and Raymond is addressing it. I will update this post when the helmet arrives.
UPDATE: HELMET RECEIVED AFTER EMAILING YESWELDER CUSTOMER SERVICE. Also, the whole problem originated with my local post office. But YesWelder got it fixed after I emailed them.
@@MrWallyrooster Sounds like my local post office ! Can't drive their fingers up their A** with both hands
Congrats. That the type of story I like to hear.
Purchased a 205ds last month, played with it and watching a lot of videos on setup. Your instructions are by far more precise and easy to follow, with the synergy settings. The only thing I did not hear was polarity for gas vs flux. The manual is poorly printed but there, I forget sometimes when stick welding and returning, which is which. LOL. thanks for your support to us beginners.
Timely review. I pre-ordered the MP200 back in November at a really good price with delivery set for January. Well, that's now set for March with no guarantee. As it turns out, with the 30% discount I can get both the 205DS and the 55DS plasma cutter for less than I paid for the MP200.
I just bought one of these because I want to learn to weld. I didn't know what Mig/Tig or Stick meant last week. That's where I am.
I don't know how many hours of videos I've watched now. But this one was worth all of them combined to me. Thank you so much for explaining everything you did.
Had my yes welder two years now great welder . changed out the wire holder from a hobart 140 . stock yes welder couldnt hold larger spools.
The size faces out even though the groove is away from you so you can see it. Also adjust the wire speed while welding to fine tune it. Do not adjust voltage while welding. I just bought one of these. Can't wait to play with it.
The machine doesn't remember the last settings, you have to set it again every time you unplug it. I haven't figured out ideal settings yet. You can print out the user guide on the amazon page and tape it on the door. I have repaired exhaust with this machine and it turned out good. I use 100% co2. Mig gun nozzle is recessed, so i replaced it with 21-50F which is flush. Contact tips are 11-30 for .030 wire, tips and nozzle can be bought at home depot, even the plastic cap for flux core fits. Gas diffuser 51 size fits. The ground cable is a little short so i made a 3 feet extension with a new set of dinse connectors. The cable looks like a 2 gauge, almost the same outside diameter but it has more rubber than cable compared to a 2awg cable that i have. Lift tig you need a torch with a manual valve.
Mine remembers settings just fine lol
@@derekchorney9993 think it remembers when left plugged in, and just turned off. But if unplugged it "forgets". Probably no onboard battery to hold data like that, although I haven't opened it up to check.
My thermal arc doesn't either but why unplug it lol I'd want a small say 15 lb inverter welder if traveling.
Hell yea! Keep the content flowing Mr. Johnson 🔥😏🖐
We will definitely try. Thanks for watching.
I bought one last year and I am happy with this welder.
We are glad you are happy with your purchase. Have a great week and thanks for watching.
I bought this machine awhile back and this is a great video !
You're gonna want the newer model the 205DS B. It has a bunch more capability but for me as a MIG guy it has the manual setting that turned out to be critical. I found that important welding thicker metal to slow the Synergic auto speed down allowing better penetration with less material. Otherwise the Synergic setting I found extremely helpful on thinner metals.
Having used a Miller Sidekick for 30 years with basically wire speed and amperage dials I was intimidated by all the settings and flashing lights. Thanks to all the video's available aclimating the machines is a breeze. Built a thinner metal welding cart and a thicker metal sheet metal brake within a week of getting the machine.
I don't see how a handy homeowner, hobbyist or car enthusiast doesn't have one of these they're so handy, easy to use and affordable.
Good review and good job. You’re a natural. I just subscribed and I’m seriously considering this unit. I am a jack of all trades and a master of none.
Nice welder. Awesome review. I’m gonna have to check it out. 👍
Haven't used mine yet, I need to grab some scrap from my work but im excited to get to it! lol.
Edit: also I've only stick welded once when I was like 15 lol so very new.
Thanks, now I know everything about welding.😁
Ok, so, I still don’t know much about welding, but at least I have some clue about what’s involved now. I had never had even watched someone set up for welding before, and after watching this, I googled the difference between MIG and TIG, and now at least have some idea of what is involved. Think I’ll leave the welding to others, although I might do come tack welding.
hey thank you for a good vid. I would like to know if this would be good for a new welder. If not what would be a good welder for a new welder. Thank you for your time.
Best review hands down...🙌🏽
Glad you think so! We appreciate you letting us know. Thanks for watching.
Very thorough and well done. 👍
I appreciate that. Thanks for watching.
Awesome vid. Thanks for the info
What additional parts are needed to use the 0.023 setting? I'm going to be welding 60's sheetmetal body panels, and that's the recommended size.
Great review, thanks
Thanks for watching!
I'm looking to make extensions for the ground and stick leads. Where can I buy the dinse connector so I can make my own lead extensions?
What gas regulator off the bottle is recommended? You omitted the anything about that part of the welder or your review.
Thank you.
How does it work with stick rods
On 110v, my 205DS feeds the wire slowly...too slowly, and I can't find a way to adjust the speed. Is this normal for this welder?
The roller problem you had was because you didn't read the directions close enough. It says in the MIG250 PRO that the number facing out is the size of wire that should be in the track.
Which is different that other brands, even though the rollers are the same size, with the same axis. Thanks for watching.
The 205ds instruction manual doesn't mention that. I have 2 other wire welders that also have it marked that way. An olger Lincoln 255 and an Eastwood 130. I bought this to be portable and hopefully a better unit than the Eastwood.
Can you do aluminum tig with this welder?
Good review.
Im buying one.
Good choice! Thanks for watching.
160 amps can’t weld up to or past 5/16”? Only 3/16??
Thanks for the review! What size circuit breaker does this need to be on? The input amperage on their site says 45amps for this welder and 63 amps for their plasma cutter (55-DS). How are these running on a 120v outlet with those numbers? Thanks!
I really don't think they are running at those numbers. All manufacturers do this for some reason; but the "amps" it says on the display of the welder and the advertised numbers aren't the actual amperage in the wire you're putting out. If you test it with a wire meter. Just not possible. Samething with the 55DS. I have both. It doesn't do 55 amps or 63 amps. It maxes out, knob full to max, around.... 40 amps; I believe, when I tested it plus a YT video I found said around the same. And that's on 220. I have a 50 amp breaker for 220. I'd imagine you wouldn't want more than a 30-40 amp in 110 or would risk a fire in breaker box before tripping the breaker, you know. Like, I don't think a 50 amp breaker in a 110 is safe. Most 110 wires can't safely handle 50 amps so would burn up with extended use (or quicker) and breaker would never trip.
I wired a 220V 50 amp breaker with 6 gauge wire in my garage for welding. It cost me about $350 to buy everything frome Home depot.
I asked Yes Welder and they said that 110 is 45 amps and 220 is 30 amps.
Are you going to do any video reviews on the YESWELDER ARC PRO 165DS 110-220V and the Arc205. I hear the amp ratings are not true as advertised.
From what I understand, 110v will have limited AMP ranges while the 220v plug unlocks the entire AMP spectrum.
what is the minimum running watt generator that would be needed to run this on 110v?
I believe. 7500 watt generator and make sure the outlets are 20A minimum.
When you use the TIG function on this, do you connect the gas line on the torch directly to the flow meter or is there somewhere on the machine to connect to?
on the tig its straight to the bottle/regulator
So does this model not weld aluminum with the Tig gun option?
im not a welder but from what i heard it does not weld aluminum because the TIG is DC only
Is it gasless ?
You mentioned in this video that you prefer the YesWelder over the Harbor Freight Vulcan line of welders, but then said but it's no Lincoln or Miller.
but the Vulcan welders is owned by the same guy who is behind Lincoln.
I have one. Has anyone found a way to increase speed separate than heat
is your welder still working?
Question: Would you be able to use Flux core wire when Tig welding? Just asking.
Lol
No, only when stick welding..you can stick weld with flux core but only on alluminum up to 3 inches thick
Oh yah jus fuckin dip it in the puddle baud , works fuckin mint bud
Mine completely broke after 2 years of very light use. Spend a bit more and get a Miller.
I noticed the wire driver is tucked into the corner and looks awkward to work with.
You got your "Less than " symbol backwards, good video.
Is this machine able to weld aluminum or stainless in any way?
No
checkout the hitbox 200 multiprocess. i have one and its a awesome machine. only thing i dont like is that it only runs on 220.
This beats even the best millers
Have you ever had Harbor Freight welders on your channel?
We have not tested any HF welders on the channel. Thanks for watching.
I'm a welder let's see this machine on a thicker metal but so far it's ok
Thanks for the review!! I can’t find the pro model anywhere. What happened to them?
Ok I see them on their website. I like that it’s for aluminum but it’s not spool gun compatible. So is it AC TIG or how do I weld aluminum with the Pro model? Thanks
Just found your 250 Pro review ... LOL
Can you FLUX CORE with this machine?
Yes, you definitely can. Thanks for watching.
I have been waiting for my welder for 4 weeks and they won’t answer when it will ship. Their products like the true color helmet are awesome. But the support and service so far has sucked....
Really? This is one of the first issues that I've heard with support. Can you tell me which welder you ordered? I'll reach out to them and see what they say.
@@Shoptoolreviews Thanks for the reply. 250 Amp AC/ DC tig. Been asking once a week when it will ship and all they say is it will go out in the order received. My welder was stolen, I have jobs to get done and I need answers. Time is something that can never be replaced I’m retirement age now (not ready to retire yet) and just buried my best friend who was qyounger than me. So that has magnified my need for a response with a timeframe. They keep asking if I want a refund and I tell them that I want at least an approximate ship date to decide if a refund is what I have to accept. I want the welder. This isn’t a hobby, I make money with tools and my welder is a very important tool for a metal fabricator. I have an aluminum projects. I have other tools that were stolen and have to be replaced and I need the welding income to replace them. I was just getting ready to launch my car YT channel when I suffered the loss of tools. Was planning it for the last 6 years. Some replacement tools I would order from Yeswelder if the tig works out. My mig was stolen also. I bought a Yeswelder based off of YT reviews. All of this has been explained to them. The last response was “Sorry for the inconvenience, do you want a refund?” No, I want a welder, or at least the courtesy of knowing when it will arrive....
I had a similar experience.
My welder came right away (2 days).
I then ordered a self-darkening welding helmet.
Different story on the helmet and I still have yet to received it.
The welder was sent UPS.
The helmet was sent USPS.
My local post office does not like dealing with packages, so they returned it to the sender without attempting delivery (I tracked the order).
Long story short, the helmet is in limbo in Hebron, KY.
I've called customer service twice, but still no helmet.
UPDATE: HELMET RECEIVED...I got it straightened out when I emailed them instead of calling them. So I would recommend for anybody who needs service to email 📧 instead of calling.
@@TheCompanyofEagles with the massive sales going on they are selling out and not letting there customers know. After I ordered mine I got an email saying that there will be a delay due to the influx of orders.
UPDATE: After getting nowhere by phone calls, I emailed YesWelder. Raymond replied and is investigating the issue. I have a feeling it will be resolved soon.
I will update when I get further information (or finally receive my welding helmet). Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that YesWelder pulls through!
UPDATE #2: HELMET RECEIVED AFTER EMAILING YESWELDER
Wow so you can’t weld 1/4 with 200 amps according to the machine?
Can you weld upside down?
Yes it's called overhead
@@tednielsen5271 *with that welder...
With stick and mig it should be possible. I don't have that welder but if it will burn the rod/wire your using then certainly it should.
It. at 500 with taxes. 469.00
now its $360 before the tax now
Synergic is not a feature it's a flaw. Don't . Just don't.
This was a lot fire weld?????? What the fuk is that? Last time I checked it was all fire weld......
2nd
Thanks for watching.
Rebranded junk! Lookup Keygree welders. Can be had for 150-200 all day online. This one is a rebranded Keygree 250 as far as I can see. I have a error 1 code on display. Units only been used for 30 min since ai bought it...They said out of warranty nothing they can do.. which I get.. however they also would not allow me to talk to support direct, only a call center. They also blocked my email when I tried to ask them about what part needs replacing or what error code meant... Buyer beware. Hope my incident was a fluke. Really liked the welder when it worked but feeling a bit hung out to dry.
Can we all just agree a multi process welder is not this welder
Basically all small mig welders can do lift tig and arc
A multi process welder is a mig welder that can do HF start tig and have settings for special electrodes
For a 200a welder i actually think its pretty big
Specially if u compare this thing to a HBM 200SI
And those ppl who dont know wat inductance does
It reduces the amount of spattering thats basically all it does i suggest not using it keep it at 0 because ur more likely going to burn up consumables
Yes machine have to stay they suck.. Maybe good for DIY but not in the job site. Don't care what this people saying that review this not ball's welding machine.
I don't understand how you can recommend this welder. I bought one off your recommendation. It welds fine, but it is total garbage. By far the cheapest welder I have ever touched. Avoid!!!
It’s a $300 welder, wtf did you expect?
What do you recommend?
"it welds fine, but it's total garbage " 🤦♂️
There is no capacitor in that pos....it starts cold and lays uneven . Why spend 499 on a Lincoln? Cause they have starting capacitance. Total junk the yes welder. It's harbor freight with a different paint job. I'd like to review the yes welder. I bet there will be alot of nos.... The best bunch of b s....it fdosent have a wire speed control? Wtf is that
you talk to much if ima be honest
