I fly somewhat frequently, and have never taken time to check out how the galley works. I've always wondered HOW in the world you guys are able to store and organize that much food and beverages for so many passengers inside such a tiny space. I'm fascinated by how all this works. Thank you for the video!
Wow, what a fantastic galley tutorial! I have not seen any other flight attendant do a galley prep this well! Loved every minute of it Julia! Your video production value is so exceptional and it is so professional - from the quality of video/sound to your script! You are already almost at 1K subs! You deserved so many more! Please keep up the excellent work you're doing with your channel :)
Hey Julia, thanks for sharing this galley tutorial I found it informative & helpful! I’ve always been curious how the whole process works. It’s so nice of you to have discussions & comment with your subscribers! I’ve learned a lot watching your videos & I look forward to seeing your next adventure! 😄✈️ I hope your channel continues to grow!! 💜
I work at an airline catering facility (not DFW, but another big airport). I always find it interesting how flight attendents set up so much stuff on your carts, very organized and efficient. We do both airbus and boeing at my facility. good video.
fascinated by these behind-the-scenes videos! I wish more people would watch those. Then maybe they would begin to understand everything that goes into doing your job, and maybe be nicer to the crew every time they fly :)
I have a few questions. 1. When service is done and the plane has landed catering comes in and changes things out does the plane get the same stuff again? 2. Can you have anything after service is done? To eat or drink? Thank YOU Great Vlogs
This shows the work (lots of it) we pax never get to see. Well done! I'd like you to be my FA on my next trip, or, since I'm on really low odds for this, at least someone as good and thorough as you are.
I was surprised that the mini alcohol bottle you had to organise, that this wasn't done on the ground ? So well organized wow, this is exactly what they should do at our hospitals here in Montreal would be so much better, these techniques from the airline industry are so efficient.
It is organized but she takes some out and adds more relevant stuff (most flights have the exact same standard trolley orders but obviously a morning flight will sell less alcohol)
I LOVE THIS, Julia! I always found the galley fascinating, so this was such a nice treat to get a peek at what it is and what you do in the galley. Is it always just one FA prepping in the galley before a flight? I haven’t finished the vid yet, so idk if you’ve answered this, but how long does it usually take to prep everything? I’m glad to see/hear you clean the coffee pots first-I’ve heard a lot of indecent things about it and the overall quality of the plane water!
Van Pham hi there, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! If it’s an international flight you usually have a few people helping the galley flight attendant set up but for domestic it’s usually designated to just one person. It all depends on how well the galley is set up/organized before hand. If it’s a mess it usually takes me 25 ish minutes but if the crew before me was really organized or if it’s the first flight of the day I can usually get it done in about 15-20 minutes if I’m moving quickly. Thanks for watching! ☺️
Jetting Julia thanks so much for taking the time to reply back to me, Julia! I really appreciate it! I think prepping the galley could definitely be smth I’d enjoy doing when I become a FA. 😄 I recently applied to AA, but didn’t pass the assessment test, which was a real bummer for me, bc I felt quite good abt it. What tips, tricks, or advice would you recommend when it comes to the assessment test? Bc tbh, it was my cover letter that I was hesitant abt-did you include a cover letter when you applied? Do you think it’ll hurt me if I decided to not include it the next time around?

amazing galley set up! Very organised ! Do you guys set up the galley like that on all flights or depends if it's and international or domestic ? In my airline we have different categories of service and the galleys and carts have different set up! Nice video
I watched this for when I start work at my company, and yes a Friday night to LV you will need all the liquor, just for us instead of LV in Europe we have Ibiza
Simon Davey some things are standardized like breaking up the ice but as for the cart itself most flight attendants set things up differently! Thanks for watching! ☺️
Hello. Is the ice that you are breaking up brought onboard by the catering company? We hear so much about the bacteria in the ice from the dirty holding tanks on the plane. But if the ice is made on the plane and the coffee is made from the water on the plane, wouldn't both have bacteria in them?
Mj Gruskin some people do! It’s not as common on morning flights though. Often in the morning people ask for vodka OJ or mimosas. The only time we don’t serve alcohol is if the flight time is too short or if it’s before noon on a Sunday in Texas (Texas law). Thanks for watching! 😊
May I ask at what point do you brew the coffee and fill your serving containers? Do you start brewing before takeoff or just after reaching say 10,000 feet and getting up to get ready for the service?
MrFlyboy1313 I always brew the coffee/hot water after we reach 10,000 feet and are allowed to get out of our jump seats 🙂 I finish setting up the galley (in case I missed anything) while the coffee is brewing before service. Thanks for watching! ✈️
Jetting Julia thanks for answering. I only ask because I see on other fight attendant channels the galley attendant always seems to be turning on the coffee makers and I always assumed it was for the first class passengers getting a drink before pushback and taxiing to the runway. But, now I realize they were probably just testing the coffee maker like you did during the galley setup.
Quite informative and interesting. New subscriber here! Would love to see you prepping galley for a meal service on a long haul flight. Also, would like to see how you prep for Business Class and First Class meal services. Thanks for providing such a fascinating behind the scenes report! Take care and Happy Travels!
Just curious how does the company keep track of the mini liquor bottles... it seems like some crew members would take them considering so easy to fit in a bag!!
Intersting how you do this on a domestic flight...works slightly different from the video i made on the longhaul flight on a A380 with Singapore Airlines.
As a former F/A of 20 years I am always fascinated that so much tome is spent on these videos? Galley prep is 1/3 of the job you will be doing and gives you no insight to what your F/A career will be like. Those videos cannot be shown only experienced. To those interested in this career, meet with a F/A in person listen to what they tell you about training, base assignments, seniority, scheduling, legs, ready reserve,, duty time, benefits, and mostly pay.. seeing that it takes time to work from a B scale to A. Prepping the galley is nothing more than a position and tiny part of the job.
