Can you do a video of your current gaming setup? I have been looking to take a leap into DAC's and Amps but there is not any such information out there like your channel breaks it down. Also if you did this exact video for Tarkov, that would be great.
Hey bro love the detailed info. Have you tried Dolby Atmos? I have never been a fan of emulated surround however its absolutely amazing with directional sound. After a while of using it I saw Linus's video where he blind folded people and tested each headset with and without Atmos on. Like 90% of the time with it on in a supported game. While blind folded, they had better reaction and accuracy to the sound. For me in warzone I can tell if its on or off at this point. Sometimes windows likes to turn it off. I coupled this EQ with my G6 and dolby atmos. I wondering if you can do some testing with it and couple that with the g6 software?
Do you have a video or article anywhere that talks about your favourite headphones for gaming? It would be interesting to see which headphones you've found best for imaging, etc.
Thank you for this vid! Any recommendations for eq for other audio cues in warzone, for example reloading, plating up, resurrecting, crouching, opening a door?
u can do that by recording clips from the game while performing the actions u mentioned ( reload, crouch etc) open these file in Audacity, and note the frequency range of whatever action you are analyzing then with your eq software boost up or low those frequencies that you wanna change
A question: why is Boost better than Boost High? If I look at the graphs that the game provides with the settings, it seems that Boost High has a nice peak right at the 100-200 Hz range where we want it? I am on playstation 4 and my headset (Turtle Beach Stealth 700) doesn't allow custom EQ settings, so I'm stuck with just the game settings and the standard presets (bass & treble boost + SuperHuman Hearing). PS Warzone has such a gigantic player base that I bet you would get a lot of views on any subsequent Warzone video, e.g.: - Analyzing footsteps on different terrain: metal, stone, wood, sand - Analyzing weapon reload, armor plating, revive sound, and so on
Didn't realize motu had an eq software. I'm guessing it only comes with their higher end interfaces. Do you have a repository per each headphone of your equalizer apo settings?
So interested in this topic, I use Dolby atmos on Xbox, be interesting how rainbow six siege audio frequencies differ as siege sound I believe works differently to other games
First off thank you for the video this was exactly what i was looking for. I have a quick question. Hopefully you'll be able to help me. I bought a new computer and got the sound blaster AE-7. However when I hook up my head set I don't get any sound to my head phones unless under the sound blaster command i have "Direct Mode" activated. However when "Direct Mode" is activated it greys out my equalizer and I am unable to edit the sound. Im not sure what to do. Thanks in advance.
Hey, thank you so much for the video! Nice one! I have a question. Is it neceserry to run apo in the background or can i close it? Greetings from Germany
Thanks for the guide! I have the steelseries arctic pro + game dac and I tried so many things to get better audio and I came up with this one setup that I can't say amplifies footsteps but it makes the other sounds a little lower so then the foot steps sound louder. I tried what you recommended however it wasn't working as well. Would you recommend I try sorround sound? Because currently I have it disabled
Thanks for the great technical insight. Under advanced speakers properties I have an option called "Enable audio enhancement" which you don't. I'm guessing this is another undesired layer?
Thanks for this video! Very eye opening. Just to make sure I understand correctly, I could simply mimic your 10 band eq adjustments if I was specifically looking for better footstep audio in warzone, correct. My more specific question is, this would not change even though I am running different headphones (i have pc38x), correct? Or alternatively, should I capture and analyze my own video since I have diff headphones? Thanks in advance for the additional help! Subscribed!
Watched your review for my headphones and kind of answered my own question. I'm copying your eq since my headphones are also flat in the 100-200 range. Using eq apo. No option for 10 band or any option I see for peak, so I am going to use 51 band to closely mimic your curve. What I came up with is 6 dB increase @ 160, 2db increase @ 100 & 250. The follow up question is, should I be using the normalize response feature? Without it I believe the red indicates I am over my peak? Thanks again!
That was extremely helpful thank you. Only question is running or walking on a tin roof or on metal. If you do a follow up that would be the only sound you didn’t have and audio byte on
Great video! What would your opinion be based on your knowledge of the steel series Arctis pro with game DAC vs the Astro A40 with mixamp. Specifically for warzone.
Thank you. I haven't tried the Arctis pro, it's on my list. The mixamp has also been redesigned since I tried them so I hesitate to weigh in. I really need to try both. If I was going to be doing a headset for convenience, wireless would be real tempting.
I’ve had the astros and now have the arctis pro wired with gamedac. I didn’t try his methods on the astros but just did on the arctis pros. Specifically raising the 145 frequency and lowering the 60 and below made a huge difference. I also lowered the 1000 frequency as he suggested. So far that makes a night and day difference.
Geiles Video Kompliment. Eine Frage hätte ich noch. Welche Frequenz haben die eigenen Schritte? Dann könnte man die leider stellen, wenn es sich von den der Gegner unterscheiden. LG

Hi there, Very nice and clear video. However when thinking on how to apply this I had the following remarks. I use an astro A50 and I checked a lot of EQ presets. I use it in a combo with dolby atmos (which also feels quite nice with the virtual surround). I guess i'll try your suggestions and play around a little more. Any suggestions on dolby atmos and astro command centre combo? Or would you suggest to keep it simple? Anyway very nice and clear video!
thank you very much for the feedback. Preset EQ is tough to rate. Keep in mind that you want footsteps to be louder at the frequencies we highlight in the video. A preset EQ may lower frequencies below that. The drivers of the A50 set my already have a tuning that benefits from that preset as well. Long way of saying, try messing with it and use what you feel helps most. Don't get too caught up in what anyone else tells you is best. Keep me posted with what works for you!
how do we get to the interface for our specific headset on REW? I have JQL Quantum 800 and i want to see the EQ profile to know what i need to change. Side note; fantastic vid and definitely a niche that no one else has covered. thank you!
Do you think boost is better than studio reference even on high end headphones + dac/amp ? I have AH-D7200 and I like studio reference sound mutch better than all other mixes, but not sure if its substantially worst for footsteps.
Extremely informative video!! This may be kind of a complex question with a variety of nuances, but what headset/headphones would you recommend specifically for hearing footsteps in warzone? The 770s?
Would these specific settings work today with Caldera? I ask because most of the map is outdoors where footsteps would be on grass/mud vs inside buildings on wooden floors or would the sound frequencies be pretty much the same?
amazing, would there be a benefit to lower the frequency that fires the bullets from your gun? so you can hear your surroundings better. I die often because im not aware of whats going on around me when im shooting. Also: would different audo mixes in game change the frequency? because im on boost high.
it might. I haven't thought to try to lowering certain gunshot FR.... interesting thought.... yes, if you use a different track mix it may affect how MUCH to change the specific frequencies but no it will not change what frequencies those sounds occur at.
I would love to just tell you my headphones but I’d like to learn. On console is there a way to test similar to your guide and tune my headphones for warzone?
Have you messed around with Dolby Atmos for Xbox series X..I'm using the newer Xbox headset which has its own eq setting does that effect the Dolby atmos sound
according to your analysis, the footsteps are in the low frequencies. you recommend turning up the low frequencies in the equalizer. instead activision recommends in the audio settings to put high frequencies boosts. many other youtubers recommend increasing the high frequencies. I do not understand.
I own a shp9500. Can you suggest me an equalizer program for warzone? Can you help me make the settings? I don't know English. I will be glad if you can help me.

Don't get too caught up in what anyone else tells you is best. Keep me posted with what works for you!
What EQ settings worked best for you? Using A40’s currently
how do we get to the interface for our specific headset on REW? I have JQL Quantum 800 and i want to see the EQ profile to know what i need to change. Side note; fantastic vid and definitely a niche that no one else has covered. thank you!
did u discover how to get the interface on REW?
Do you think boost is better than studio reference even on high end headphones + dac/amp ? I have AH-D7200 and I like studio reference sound mutch better than all other mixes, but not sure if its substantially worst for footsteps.
Extremely informative video!! This may be kind of a complex question with a variety of nuances, but what headset/headphones would you recommend specifically for hearing footsteps in warzone? The 770s?
That was amazing , Thank you for the lessons
Question, Where can I get the files on different headsets in rew, like you have? did you have to make them yourself?
Loved this, any tips on Astro a40 or senheisser game one?
Would these specific settings work today with Caldera? I ask because most of the map is outdoors where footsteps would be on grass/mud vs inside buildings on wooden floors or would the sound frequencies be pretty much the same?
Awesome! Thank you so much. I'm going to try this now.
do these apply to IEM/earbuds too? or do I need to make some specific adjustments
Great video. Exactly what i was looking for!
amazing, would there be a benefit to lower the frequency that fires the bullets from your gun? so you can hear your surroundings better.
What would you do for Astro Mixamp since its probably one of the most popular headsets for gaming.
I would love to just tell you my headphones but I’d like to learn. On console is there a way to test similar to your guide and tune my headphones for warzone?
Great VID. Love it. I play Tarkov though. Will try it for sure. Thanks
Thank you for the kind words!
Have you messed around with Dolby Atmos for Xbox series X..I'm using the newer Xbox headset which has its own eq setting does that effect the Dolby atmos sound
did you 3ever get round to testing the astro a40s tr pro mixamp ?
Any point to boost treble? I've heard that boosting trebel can help with hearing foosteps. Anymore specific EQ settings for the DT770 250 ohms?
according to your analysis, the footsteps are in the low frequencies. you recommend turning up the low frequencies in the equalizer.
instead activision recommends in the audio settings to put high frequencies boosts.
many other youtubers recommend increasing the high frequencies.
I do not understand.
Most warzone RUclipsrs recommend boost low
I own a shp9500. Can you suggest me an equalizer program for warzone? Can you help me make the settings? I don't know English. I will be glad if you can help me.
Nice.... but I need help with my setup... I have sennheiser pc38x headphones and a soundblaster xg6 dac.... I can't get my sou d correct for warzone pacific....
when i use EQ APO and move the frequencies i dont feel any difference on audio volume... i mean i put the correct values and the steps keep hearing the same
Do you have any videos or anything for Astro a40 mix amp on pc? I’m new to PC gaming I have an extremely good build and I’m wondering now is there a good amount of headset that are better now I can use on pc?
What do you recommend for a 5 band equalizer such as for astros with the 3 bands (xCF)?
also could you possibly do a video on Astro A40/A50 best audio settings? Go through the Mix amp and explain what each part means. Thank you
astro command centre eq?
