Megan you should cover up the glued part of the vase with gold paint on the crack lines in the Japanese style of Kintsugi! The Japanese appreciate the value of repairing an item and I think it would make the lamp even more beautiful!
I make popcorn like 3x a week! I put 2-3 tbps of avocado oil in a pot with lid. Put 2-3 “tester” kernels in oil while heating-once they pop the oil is ready. Add 1/3 Cup of kernels. REMOVE POT FROM HEAT FOR 1 MIN. (Let kernels sit in hot oil for 1 min-uncovered) Put the pot with lid back on burner at med/high heat. Once popcorn starts popping I give it a shake once or twice, so no hot spots form. Lastly, season to your liking!
I love that you just randomly started that painting on your bedroom wall. When I was a teen figuring out my emotions about my parents divorce and moving out of the house I lived in all my life, up till then, I choose to start a paint project on my walls. My mom was ok with it as she planned to paint that room any ways. My friends came over and wrote fun quotes on the walls and memories we never wanted to forget. It was very therapeutic.

For popcorn, it is super important that the pot is really dry! Then I put a thin layer of oil on the whole bottom. Then only enough kernels to form a single layer on the bottom. Then I use only a medium heat. When you hear the popcorn slow down the popping, count to three for the last one popped, Immediately remove from the heat and pour out into a bowl. Almost always without burning

We redid our kitchen before we moved in. I told the electrician: We need outlets. And wherever you put one, put a double! (4 places to plug in) it's great & the kids can always find a place to recharge That and drawers on the bottom instead of cupboards are 2 of our best decisions!

I use peanut oil for popcorn and start the oil on high for just a minute, watching it closely, never leaving it. As soon as the first kernels pop, I turn it down right away and start to gently move the pan on the burner to circulate the kernels. When the whole thing is popping wildly, I move it quickly to a cool burner and let it finish popping via the heat already in the pan.
I love thrift shops too. It’s like treasure hunting. For Christmas my hubby got me an old farmhouse table from a resale store. It’s beautiful and a fraction of the cost of a new oak farm table. It’s hard to pay full price for ANYTHING when you learn to thrift shop or go junking.

Regarding popcorn prep, we received a stovetop popper for Christmas years ago made of aluminum with a lid that had a rotating handle on top connected to mixer blades on the under side of the lid. I would just put a couple tablespoons of coconut oil and a bit salt in with the popcorn kernels. Best popcorn ever! Also, your bread is delicious, and for our church gift exchange I baked 47 loaves and delivered them to our congregation families! They’ve been well received and requests to receive it every year have been made! Thank you for sharing it. 😁

For anyone that can handle spicy food, add a little bit of Baklouti Green Chili Olive Oil to the butter. Just a little won't be that spicy so adjust the ratio if you want more heat. It's not just hot for hots sake, but has a wonderful rich full flavour. It also goes really well with honey ginger balsamic vinegar for marinades and salad dressing.
Even when I'm lazy and make microwave popcorn I sometimes drizzle just a little of the oil on the sides of the bowl I pour the popcorn into for that hint of flavour.
The Whirley Pop! My husband used to do yardwork as a boy for his elderly neighbor lady. When I married him she gave us a coupon to Bed, Bath and Beyond and we got a "Whirley Pop" stovetop popcorn maker. To this day we always joke of all the things people got us on our wedding day, that Whirley Pop is THE most used item. P.S. I'm now the caregiver to that lady. She is 95 and still safely at the home she raised her kids in. Feels good to be able to help her do that.....especially after being gifted that life changing coupon!

The trick to yummy popcorn: corn oil (I know...it’s not good for you, but it makes a difference!) popped on the stovetop. Salt to taste. No butter needed! Sooooo good!

We use a Dutch oven to make popcorn....gas heat, olive oil to cover bottom of pan, 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels....vent lid just a little to let stream out....when popping gets to more than a few seconds apart....turn off heat....every kernel gets popped. Immediately dump in bowl. We think Orville Redenbacker kernels pop up the fluffiest.
No matter what size pan you have you need to do popcorn in small amounts unless you have a professional set up, even then you don’t make extremely large batches. I worked for a while at a market making kettle corn popcorn (I was actually surprised my youngest wasn’t popcorn looking when he was born ). My boss part paid me in large bags of popcorn. 😂. You need to watch the popcorn closely and shake the pan so it keeps moving. One of the older boys can learn and do it for you.
I use a presto air popper but you can find an Alton Brown video on the Food Network RUclips channel where he shows how to use a stainless steel bowl and foil to cook on the stove. Not sure if an electric stovetop would work.
You should consider getting a whirley Pop it’s not to expensive it allows you to make large batches of popcorn on the stove without fear of burning it highly recommend

Too bad you will lose it. 🍜About the popcorn problem..it IS the pan! Ask me how I know! Yeah.. I was given a gift of those type pans and unfortunately as a young mother I couldn't believe I was burning stuff!😲 I think it is actually too thin of a material.. thin metal coated with.. not sure? So not enough layers between the hot burner.. although it appears to be heavy..it's not! 😲 It's great for boiling water though. Also when you get a different type pan don't heat the oil to a smoke point before tossing in popcorn either.. just to moderately hot.. You can test with a couple kernels..put lid on..when you hear them pop then throw rest of kernels in. Use only one layer of popcorn in bottom of pan.. maybe 1/4 c. Plus oil not deep either. You probably know these things..? I found these to be good tips myself after many tries.😲 One other thing.. you need to do.. regularly release steam by lifting lid or they can get a bit soggy. Also to prevent burning just pick up pan and shake side to side a couple times...but not enough to slow popping. You want it to stay hot pop most ALL quickly. Get it immediately off heat and lift lid when popping stops. And get it into bowl quickly too with not too hot of melted butter..so again it doesn't wilt the popped corn. If you need to leave say half of popped corn in pan just again make sure steam is out! Such a small item.. so much talk..lol..😄 But these tricks make all the difference between success and failure! 🌽🌽 Bread looked yummy! ☕🍞💕🎄🎄 How long before it was too quiet in the house?!😄 Love the Christmas movies too.😄 Little Women from 1993 is probably my fave..and also the NYC Nutcracker movie from early 90s with McCauley Caulkin in it.. The godfather 🎩 shouldn't be too scary for Eve.. it's mostly really pretty.🎄👸

You probably know these things..? I found these to be good tips myself after many tries.😲 One other thing.. you need to do.. regularly release steam by lifting lid or they can get a bit soggy. Also to prevent burning just pick up pan and shake side to side a couple times...but not enough to slow popping. You want it to stay hot pop most ALL quickly. Get it immediately off heat and lift lid when popping stops. And get it into bowl quickly too with not too hot of melted butter..so again it doesn't wilt the popped corn. If you need to leave say half of popped corn in pan just again make sure steam is out! Such a small item.. so much talk..lol..😄 But these tricks make all the difference between success and failure! 🌽🌽 Bread looked yummy! ☕🍞💕🎄🎄 How long before it was too quiet in the house?!😄 Love the Christmas movies too.😄 Little Women from 1993 is probably my fave..and also the NYC Nutcracker movie from early 90s with McCauley Caulkin in it.. Such a wonderful family..❤️. Popcorn is my favourite snack. I have a microwave popcorn popper from Walmart. Makes it fluffy, & pops in just a few minutes..
