Great hunt Ryan. Experts often make it look easy. Until one has tried this sort of thing one has no idea how hard you have to work to get to that level of success. Sneaking up on the deer through long grass and water and holding your nerve that close in is is not something you can do without putting a lot of hours into your hunting and to make all the components from nature and to balance them harmoniously together in the tool set is a greater feat still. Then you often still have to put in enough hours to be lucky. The viewer only sees the success not the hard work. Thank you for the inspiration.
Absolutely incredible!! Just discovered your channel! You've sparked an interest for me! And,,, primitive gear,,, no fiberglass, no synthetic fiber, no wheels, no sight, no fancy camo

@@dariuswhite2543 I have made a few pairs, but I prefer these ones from MocsCanada. I am not much of a clothing maker. I prefer to stick with with the hunting implements.
I cannot watch any other hunting videos as i kind of see it as cheating with rifles and stuff, but you put extreme effort in making your tools and appreciate the animals you kill. Respect 👍
calling yourself a hunter, shooting animals from distances they cant even see, or over food plots, or from tree stands, its so cheap and shallow, not hunting at all. primitive bow hunting is the real deal
thanks. yeah I got stupid lucky with the sun. No other reason that deer would stand there that long. Like they say, be in the woods long enough, and the perfect storm will happen
What a great video. That was such a good kill. That camera makes it look a lot farther away than it probably was. People have to realize what you did is almost impossible without skill and preparation. Plus all the the implements from the bow to the arrow and arrow head are hand made. Just the stuff took over 20 hrs in hand work. You earned that animal and you deserve a lot of respect. Love it.
Amazing video! Congrats. I can't imagine that HAS ever been done before. A successful, self filmed deer hunt , still hunting, with primitive bow and stone point. That's about as difficult as a hunt can be. Thanks for the filming credit at the end, btw.
Same here. This channel has made me get into knapping. I have hunted my whole life but the older i get the more i want to move to more traditional methods.
I primarily hunt with a smoothbore flintlock right now, been working on my archery though and eventually will be using the primitive bow.. hadn't considered stone points, now I'm curious about making those too. Thanks for the video
Man i just found ya and i am a picky guy on my huntin shows but i really enjoy your show and i am very impressed by your skill and as well i am picky and judge more than i should how people suck at it but i find watchin your show just plain fun thanks man i was in a pissy mood and this really helped.
In PA we hunt deer in the mountains and snow. You don't know what that is. Congratulations on a nice harvest, even it is totally different than what I think of as deer hunting. Well done.
i am kenyan, my grandfather used to work for the wildlife, well, i ate a hippo one too, i'd like to visit you one day and share our primitive hunting skills
this is a great video so much talent and that bow shot was amazing I cant wait to support you with your shop if i can love your content keep up the good work
I live in a desert area, we have Mule deer here. It amazes me how much people will spend on camouflage clothing to sit on a hill with a rifle and try to hit them from 200+ yards; whereas earthtones and a bow are more productive and you can get within 30ft lol.
Really nice bow hunt just go's to show primitive hunting can still get it done and if people don't like how he hunts just don't watch but don't give him a hard time he a skilled hunter and has very high standards of hunting great video and great channel
@HuntPrimitive9918 awesome hunt! I stumbled across this hunt while researching how to harvest deer sinew... you are an awesome shot and to self record during a stalk like that is an incredible achievement! Thank you for sharing the knowledge you've gained!
Yeah greenbrier is one of the things I don’t miss about living in South GA. We called it baboo vine there. I think smilax is it’s proper name. The tips of it are edible, but the one shown in the video is more bitter than the bigger variety. Glad you had a successful hunt.

This is really impressive, Seems like it requires very much knowledge and skill to do all these things you managed to do, cant say more than this was epic to watch😀
yesterday i was out with my dog and i saw 2 deers across the field, i sneaked in through the short grass and my dog started chasing them, one of them ran into corns but the other one turned around and went 5m away from me. i wish i had a bow on me atm i was sneaking just 4 fun :D
That's actually a valid hunting strategy as well. You scare them towards you instead of trying to find and keep up with them. It's been done since the dawn of time.
@@MrBottlecapBill yeah it worked for the first time by accident, i prefer putting traps in trails they often use, thats the most effective way to hunt really. i also realised how blind those animals are, you could stand still 20m away from them and they wouldnt run but when u make a slight noise theyre gone
I have a request - would you put a little more of your stalking, pre-shot movement, blind setup and other spot and stalk and still hunting techniques into your videos. I know they would be longer, but your techniques would really help a lot of people, since the hard part is getting to the point where you can make the shot and you consistently do that well. Thanks for all the info you do put up on youtube.
