Makes me feel embarrassed to use my store bought recurve and carbon arrows
Ain’t nothing wrong with that brother I do the same thing and we still gotta get just a close
@@Matthew_T23 If you are not going to use a rifle, you better make your own stone age bow and arrow or atl atl. Other wise what is the point?
Still more badass than compound bois. That shit is gay.
Nothing to feel embarrassed about, that's still more than most hunters.
That’s right be ashamed
Sneaks in with primitive bow, no camo...just natural colors. Amazing!
when people get autistic about camo I let them know about this guy
Question is what do you do with all of those meat. Do you hunt for the fun of it?
@@dulajohnstone5704 such a silly question...one question that anybodies ask knows nothing about hunting or what it entails.
Homerically glorious and masterfully skilled.
Amazing!! I love videos with no big bulls big antlers..
Simply the happines of hunting and natural stuff. Thanks
Amazing primitive kills! I want to learn to make primitive bows and arrows like Ryan. Sick of the "everything to perfection" garbage of the bow and arrow world. This man proves otherwise. Excellent video!
That bow and your accuracy is the perfect combo
this land is nice and do you eat them ?
Absolutely. He has videos where he processes and cooks some. He uses all he can, processes sinew etc. 👍
This guy’s the most primitive on RUclips. Guarantee he uses everything!
Loved the video. Just curious, what's your procedure if something charges? Climb a tree?
Very impressive, a true master in his field!
My museum is trying to get some people together for a primitive weapons symposium this summer in Saratoga Wyoming.
Reach out via his website, that'd be the best way to contact him.
Pretty epic, Ryan. Nothing crude about the weapons you use or the way you use them.
Just found your channel, my friends a vegetarian i'll recommend it to her, lol.
Outstanding video brother and everyone else
Wonderful video, thanks for posting.
saw you on rogan ! flintknapping is going mainstream
hope so
Wait where? I couldn't find it
LOL funny you say that. Flintknapping has been going on for over 2 million years. And only ended like 10,000 years ago. So for 95% of human history, flintknapping was not just mainstream. It was the only way to survive.
@@sagnorm1863 Even after the introduction of metal tools, flintknapping continued in various forms well into the 20th Century. Knapping in Europe for gun flints and in construction. Chipped glass being used by African-American slaves and later sharecroppers as expedient tools in the Southern US. Not to mention indigenous cultures in Australia and the Americas that continued to make stone tools or adapted to using glass/ceramic.
Thank you Ryan! Your videos top my list for primitive/traditional bowhunting. It's also nice to see that after years of lectures from other shooters, there is someone else out there that shoots short draw/snap shooting, like me.
Hi Ryan , how could you sneak up on those animals so close without spooking them ? ? They can smell or hear you easily. I really would like to know. 😅
You are just amazing. 😅😅
It's the way he moves. He moves slow and methodically in order to not make too much noise to scare the animals. This method is known as "spot and stalk" and is a well known method for hunting that's used all the time. It's all about not being loud or fast because prey animals react to quick and loud movements and will run.
یک ضرب المثل ایرانی قدیمی میگوید: شکارچی عاقبت به خیر نمیشود.(شکارچی تفریحی)👌🏻
How are you shooting bison in the south…..? I’m assuming that’s where you are cause of the palm looking plants around that one at 17:45
Excellent compilation. I enjoyed watching.
24:30 still my favorite. Walking in, puts the camera down, gets the shot and get's a good video of it too.
Fantastic, inspired me to go back to the archery club! ❤
You should try to use bollas in hunting
How make pounds are you pulling with your bow?
That is a very nice bow. Osage orange?
I want to join you... Can I join you??
The future of archery is in the past and the past is in the future. Self reliance to live, to hunt and gather to have freedom to have fire 🔥 no government has the power to strip away from the human race the right ro proliferate and survive by hunting and gathering. .... "this is the most alive, the most human you will ever feel, if you dont think that hunting with sticks and rocks is human then you couldn't be more wrong....this js the most human you will ever feel in your life" (Ryan Gill). ❤
They have tried very hard to convince us that we don’t need to remember how to survive.
It’s frightening how well it has worked. But survival of the fittest is not just a saying. Some of us will continue on
For me personally. I thoroughly enjoyed this compilation. The atlatl is on the to get list.
our ancestors would be proud
You don't need camo to getthe job done ✅💯 get in & out that's stupid to think you have to pay for it the native Americans never dressed in camo or the first people came from england,&other countries never used camo either i guess it people in charge of fishing 🦦🦦 & hunting stores make fake info on stuff to have to wear to do the same things
good job.... huntprimitive
Pig take an arrow and squealing in agony

Thanks RUclips
So impressive. Nice job.
I was the one that suggested a while ago, my prayers were heard
Fascinating.
Your tracking and accuracy is legendary 🇯🇲
Seen 'em all before, but it's nice to see the collection. 👍
Ryan, about how much poundage do you think you're pulling on your shots?
Man you are a frickin slayer... you really DO hunt and look natural out there. That boar stab was savage
Outstanding presentation
Really impressive felt bad watching but honestly great skills
Why feel bad it's all fun
@@xburninginwaterx7959 It is still novel, perhaps shocking for some to have to hear such violent screams, moreso that it seems to take a while for them to die. Wouldn't a gun drop them quicker? No disrespect on the practice, but maybe even hunters who use guns could be surprised, and surprise is all I say. I don't think this is particularly wrong, they likely would have made those sounds had they been killed by any other animal too.
@ghoulishgoober3122 so it depends a stone tipped spear or arrowhead can drop animals in seconds as seen with that deer earlier in the video. A gun drop animals from shock as arrows and spears drop animals from cutting and bleeding and a well placed shot with these stone tipped tools can take out an animal quickly.
Great video, Ryan! I've had Ryan on my podcast a couple of times. Those episodes are my most downloaded ones, not surprised:)
pigs are fine, big horns don't they are not as greedy as pigs and humans.
Honestly I want to learn hunting cuz it looks so much fun😢
Makes me feel like a girlscout and ive been usin a longbow for a few years now
umm how do you even go about getting Ls or permit for this....
This guy does it right,.....When I was young,....I went out just looking for big horn's,.....now I realize how silly society's idea of hunting is.
From now on I'm hunting meat, then I always take a trophy.
Great video,....Ryan makes primative archery look easy,... and its not,.... well the shooting part is easy it's the making bows and arrows that's complicated.
I think when you said "hunting make us feel the most human" I don't think it's the hunting it in the killing side I get that believe me and its a show of dominance over nature which is part of the human condition
It's called the "thrill" of the hunt, not the killing for most people
Dominance over nature may be a part of the human condition, but only in that we literally are more advanced than other animals despite our limitations. We are physically weaker than any other megafauna, to compensate we have opposable thumbs, bipedal walking, full rotation in the wrists, and the ability to invent things such as these bows and atlatls that dominate the ecosystem. Now guns to hunt.
It's the hunting, humans are omnivores and we have an instinct in us for hunting so when we get a successful hunt our brains release dopamine and serotonin which makes us feel good.
i am an aussie rural kid and ive been tryna find the best DIY hunting weopen, i tried blowguns, slingshots, etcetera. then i bought a toy bow, 20 lbs at 28 inches, at 81 inches its 45 pounds and ive killed 2 deer in 3 weeks
its amazing to see how the stone cleaves and peireces out the other end of the hogs
this is amazing
You are the greatest hunter I ever seen.
Like garantido e mais um inscrito
Man I've never hunted a single thing in my life but if there was any method I'd want to learn it would be using a bow and spear, he's living the life, I wish I could be this in-touch with our past.
Hey ryan, ive always been curious about this. Here in idaho i have never found a deer or elk that has had an apparent parasite in the meat(ive skinned and butchered about 8 deer and 2 elk so granted my sample size isnt huge). Im sure they are common in hogs down there but have you run into them with deer?
Why shoot a bison?
For food
He hunt and make foods.
Rambo did it, and we're all made to love Rambo. If you're going to be in survivalist mode, going to have to have protein. lots of it
I love the way you hunt
It worked for our ancestors no need to reinvent the wheel. We would still have lots of game animals all over the place today.
That was a great video!👍 Also those moccasins you used on that elk hunt did they keep your feet dry and warm in the snow?
I am so impressed with your atlatl skills... I have one and I suck at throwing it accurately.
Jesus Christ is coming back
🙄
2:48 and 5:45 absolutely metal and stunning! Amazing what a few pieces of wood and the human brain can do against the wild!
I very rarely watch videos over 10 minutes, yours are the exception.
Awesome stuff thanks
2:51 anytime a man is pointing while a drink is in that hand…just abide, son. 😂
Just because we can doesn't mean we should. Primitives had to hunt like this because it meant survival and it's the best technology they had. We shouldn't have to watch a bison take several minutes to bleed to death standing up because you can't guarantee the depth and accuracy of your weapon (although both shots were impressive).
Maybe if we all hunted the way this guy does we wouldn't have to worry so much about driving animals extinct. Besides, i don't think the point that's being made is "hey let's watch a bison bleed out", i think it's more along the lines of "prehistoric humans were awesome and deserve more credit"
Good afternoon! Thank you for the interesting content! How can I contact you for cooperation
Nice
Hallo dude do you eat the gammes or just for the fun of hunting them down hate to see 5he bison killed😢😢
Is fun to hunt and kill yes ,and eating is part of that sadly alot of hunters aren't truthful about this and use excuses like its what our ancestors did ,it releases endorphins in the brain when you make that kill and nothing comes close to it
Why? That was the most epic hunt of all, plus it fed his family for a year.
@@MangrovesToMountainsOutdoorsthe comment is specifically concerned with the possibility he isn't eating them. Just confirm that he does eat them, that's all they wanted to know
There's other videos where he does processed/cook em.
@ghoulishgoober3122 Yeah, no one does that. (kills a bison and just leaves it) I'm one of his camera guys, so I know first hand that he does.
I daydream of mesolithic western Europe.
Amazing...
He’s killing em brutal
How do you sneak up on them so close! 😯 Amazing?
The only real way to hunt and he doesent even care to camo up 😯
is this out of florida?
can we trade lives?
So good brother!! Best out there for sure!!
Make video hunting deer how to aiming from on to tree
Does the canting of his bow offer an advantage?
Absolutely brilliant..Subscribed !!
25:35 amazing shot
Respectable archery hunting skills
Hey Ryan, You are a true hunter! None of that sniping deer at 1000+ yards.
Tbf I don't know anyone that shoots from 1,000+ yards. Usually shots are taken no farther than 400 yards and most shots are taken under 250 yards or something like that. However, yeah I get what you mean he's a true hunter through and through I mean man shot an elk from 20 yards that is insane.
Vc sim e um verdadeiro caçador
I wrote a rap music after I seen this video “it gives me thrill to hear the squeal”
True its what hunting all about :)
I need a few tips on making arrow please
Make video how to aim the for hunting
That bison kill is so absolutely epic. Freaking atlatl dart so perfect. It never gets old!
🤷 'promosm'
God will question you
We have been given dominion over the animals.
Fantastik 👍👍👍
I love this compilation video 💯🔥
Poq matar al bisonte
MAD skills brother! I love it!
😢😢😢😢
Wuild boar puedes notar todos
Something seems wrong why was the bison wagging its tail and not trying to run away
cuz It already had one spear put through it's heart and was near death. The second spear was just to make it go down faster
What state was the bison hunt in?@@huntprimitive9918
Masterclass 👌
