    The blanks are genius !!
Appreciated the 2 months experience before voicing a "all is perfect, buy it" that we see to often.
Your cat just decided it was his video 😅

@ARAW-__- The blanks are great, more on that soon (Hint). When it comes to something like this I am going to test it, I don't want it failing on me when I need it, or failing on someone else. As for the cats.... ya they run this place I just live here.

@charlesartificer2158 I will definitely check your work on the blanks !!
The same way you waited 2 months, those last months I've been carrying and using a CS bushman and trailhawk in my overnighters and cooking videos, testing them before talking about them. I feel like in today's world, people are far too quick to ourchase whatever.
While it is in our financial interest to list and push garbage to viewers, I believe we should hold ourselves to higher standards. I personally consider every viewer to be in a bad financial situation, as I have been myself. That way, I will only recommend the most important and bang for your buck type of gear.
For the cat appearance, it hooked my girl as soon as it arrived 🤣

@@ARAW-__- I have the Trailhawk I kind of like it haven't used it in a while I've got something new that I'm finishing up working with right now. You are right some people do push stuff on here really hard trying to make a buck. Me I haven't made a dime I'm not really planning to at this point. This is all been like a hobby of mine. And I got really tired of other people pushing junk on here and I'd go buy it and then well I'd be out the money.
As for the cats there's very few videos I do anymore that they don't decide to get in. In fact just this weekend I was outside doing some work and old James decided to get right in frame. Finally starting to cool off over here a little bit. We've had kind of a heat wave here for some time and this last weekend was just gorgeous so I tried to spend as much of my time outside as possible.

@charlesartificer2158 Same here my friend. For now, RUclips didn't pay me a dime, although I cashed in $10 from amazon, just listing what gear I am using, with honnest recommendations.
I often go for the less expensive equipment when possible.
For knives and tools, it's often not a downgrade. Take a $20 Tramontina machete, customize it a bit, and it will outperform a $100 Esee lite machete ever will, even modified (micarta handle skews the center of gravity).
I view viewers as 2 kinds of people: either my friends that know and trust me, or a good man, in a bad spot. Maybe he is on the verge of being homeless, and I wouldn't want to contribute to his financial downfall, even a tiny bit. People in precarious situations need good advice, skills, and tools (money being the maij tool we all use to keep the lights on).
Where are you based ? I'm a few km east of Paris, in the suburbs, and it's cooling down, too !
Hopefully, I'll be able to resume my fire making videos in the next weeks.

Going to have to look into the amazon rout, God knows I post a lot of products that you can get on amazon. I totally get where you are coming from. Times are hard and I don't want to have people buy junk and then blame me.
South eastern Michigan not to far from Ann Arbor Michigan. Lots of woods here, farmland and swamps. My favorite spots are across the state such as the Manistee national forest and the upper peninsula of Michigan Hiawatha National forest. There are places in them where you can go and not see another person for as many days as you wish. Its just wonderful places to get away from everything.
The upper peninsula of Michigan is like another world. everyone that lives up there call themselves Yupers. Everyone south of the Mackinac bridge like me Trolls lol. There is so much more to my home state that I could write books on it. What I have seen of the woods in your part of the world looks a lot like the upper peninsula here. If you ever get the chance you should come and see it. I am sure you would love it. Just stay out of Detroit and the other big city's. They are bad news. In fact if you believe the story's here Detroit is cursed and is haunted by The red dwarf. Legend goes if you see him you have a great deal of bad luck. So yes my home is a colorful place LOL.

A big thank you for bringing this one to our attention. What a gift this tool will make to those you care about! I agree that only two long tool slots limits what I would like to see but hey, it is quick change. The old saw, two is one and one is none applies. My first thought was how great to be able to have two blades and possibly two saws ready to go. Our most used tools in the outdoors. Not a deal breaker because of that ability to change out parts in the field. Big bonus, a whole lot less expensive than most quality multi-tool options available locally. Customizing your "personal tool" is really next level.

@NewHampshireJack Yes totally agree 100%. I truly believe that this is the future of multitools. Here in the states there are more places where you can't carry a blade. If you walk into such a place unawares they will take it from you. But with something like this I can remove the blade and keep the tool.
Not to mention setting it up for specific tasks. Also having other tools in your pack that you can change out in the field makes this a next level game changer. Also the blank tools you can buy gives the DIYer plenty of opportunity to make custom tools. (Hint Hint) More on that coming. I cant wait for Roxon to come out with new tools for it. You are going to see this more often here for the near future and beyond.

You don't use the package the tool comes in to install. You use the plastic package packed with the star wrench - its end is cut away at an angle.

Removing the pocket clip imposes even more play in the handles when twisting. I'm honestly surprised you say your wire cutters are working. Mine are terrible - I can't even cut 20 AWG stranded cleanly. I suppose I'll need to contact Roxon and see if my pliers are defective. Thanks for the video. Contrary to yours and Maxlvledc's video, I would NOT recommend this tool if you're used to Leatherman quality standards. The inserts are all great, the pliers are not. I hope Roxon continues to iterate on this design.

@iNowHateAtSigns Sorry to hear you are having problems. I removed my pocket clip. It has not increased my play. I did however use the supplied star wrench to tighten up the plier side of the tool. I did notice that you can only tighten that side so far and then its like you hit a wall and cannot go any tighter.
It is still functional and has a bit of that side to side action I showed in my video. As for cutting wire mine has been great. I plan on doing a gear update video soon on it and will show all of this. I would say that if yours cant cut wire properly and the pliers side is all tightened up then you probably have a defective tool.
Time to see if they honor that 25 Year warranty that's on the package. Please keep me updated on how things go I do want to know how this all works out.

@@charlesartificer2158 Thanks for your input. I swapped the replaceable cutters with the spare set provided and they were much better. I just ran another ~40 cuts each on my Leatherman and the Flex and the results were similar. I won't be returning the tool.

@iNowHateAtSigns Thats good news with a bit of bad. Its good that the back up cutter blades work as they should. Its bad because the other set sounds like maybe the grind on them is off. I will have to look into my spare set and see if I have any similar issues. Thanks for the info you have a great night!

Yeah, my Flex too is aptly named… it flexes and rattles waaaay too much. I made a short video about it and commenters seem to think I don’t know how to adjust a tool. I do. It’s just garbage quality for the price. Great concept, needs a lot of work in quality control.

    • @iNowHateAtSigns
      @iNowHateAtSigns Месяц назад

@@daphnedevi I don't think it's QC, it's just a design flaw in the locking/unlocking mechanism. I got to looking at it & I think the rattling can be resolved with some rubber or foam spacers behind the lock's "knob". I'll try it when I get a chance and let you know.
