Little kids should be learning about reading, writing, and arithmetic. Sex and gender education isn’t appropriate at that age.

Any teacher who is honest would acknowledge that sexuality is not something that needs to be discussed with children 3rd grader or younger. There is no reason this law should even be controversial.

The right wing hate propaganda behind this phony law is based on the lie that teachers are trying to indoctrinate little kids into homosexuality. There is no "gay agenda" accept to be treated as human beings with equal rights. Look at the way DeSantis exploits these youngsters for his own political benefit.
That's the part that the conservatives are focusing on because you're right. Kids that young have no business being anything other than kids. What FOX doesn't tell you is that the part that's really bothering the Libs is the part where teens who are afraid to tell their parents, or who need help figuring out how to tell their parents, can no longer turn to trusted teachers or guidance councilors for advice because, by law, they have have to tell the parents as soon as the teens tell them. That's why high-schoolers keep protesting, but the conservative news sources don't report that angle because that makes the bill look bad.

The Right only mentions the bit about talking to K-3rd graders because that actually does make sense. Nobody wants their 5-year-old lectured by a teacher about gender identity, so the Right only mentions that aspect of the bill. You need to get your news from multiple sources and if it sounds like someone is being unreasonable about a bill being passed (like this case) you really should read what the bill actually contains because there are two sides to every story. Left and Right media only cater to their viewers, so you will only get one side unless you watch both or do your own research.

I’m happy that my state (FL) has a “Don’t say gay law”. When I have kids, the last thing I need is my kids to be learning how to put their junkie in a mans rear end. The school is a place to learn things that’s gonna prepare you for a career, not that filthy disgusting crap. The school has no room for that nastiness. Keep your bedroom behavior to yourself. I don't think it's an age appropriate topic for kids that age in school...
People against it, have the notion that this bill will turn children against your sexual preference. What this bill is doing and the school needs to do together is involve the parents to educate thier kids on these subjects how they see fit.. Some people do not want to tackle that resposibility, the schools and teachers have enough to deal with. It should not be the schools responsibility, but the parents. Not evryine is going to accept others personal preferences. And they have that right. No one can be forced to accept everything.
They're only scared of the fact if their kid(s) turns out to be straight(or even Gay!) and had other preferences pushed on them. That they'll resent them later on. Exactly how a straight family can push straight preferences on a gay teen and they end up with resentment.
Life is Duality and these people seem to be completely unaware of that.

You literally can not teach a class on history to 3rd graders that includes the existences of homosexuals.
I've worked with kids as a assistant teacher. Children often say stuff like "why does so and so have 2 dads" or they'll use words like "oh that's gay" or " you can't have 2 moms" they often comment on things that seem different from them or not so common.
Usually I say:
"Some families have two dads or two moms. I know it's different but that's ok"
"That's not nice that's not how we use that word."
They are so curious they always ask what words mean. I had 2 separate occasions where the child asks what Gay means I then tell them about the different families.
Kids have such a strong curiosity and can become so kind and understanding if you show them at a young age. My experience has been that the younger you teach kids about the different types of families there's so much less bullying if anything in the last 10 years I've noticed way less bullying because of this. I had a child bring me to tears defending another child from a "ADULT" ( a person in their 60s)
But I don't live in Florida 🤢 so kids might probably be a bit more nasty about "differences between friends" there
I'm thinking if you don't want kids to be exposed or ask about different types of families. Then maybe home schooling is better because they'll come across stuff like this at some point so explain!! talk to your kids before someone else has to talk to them for you. A teacher would never make this a part of her lesson plan 🤣🤣 but yeah the questions do come up from these kids and you often wonder why parents dont just talk to their kids so no one else has to. And when u talk to them be kind about it please 🙏 we do not need more bullying in schools. Also these politicians know it's hot topic right now so they are using this to distract you. Just sayin. I think that's the issue though is that there are teachers who make this apart of their curriculum when it's completely unnecessary especially at such young ages. Teachers need to stick to what's important and not teach or try indoctrinate their students to their own bias and beliefs. We had a teacher at my nephews elementary school making the kids sit for the national anthem every morning because she hated Trump. Just because you took your job serious doesn't mean other teachers do.

Parental Rights In Education is the name of the Bill given by the author of the Bill.
Teachers have rights too. He needs to sign a bill that bans students from disrespecting their teachers and bullying their peers. Kids should attend school with strict requirements to be obedient and if they break that rule, they should be suspended or expelled right away PERIOD.
