I can never just finger detangle or just use a brush. I’ve always finger detangled first THEN used a brush to completely get all the shed hair out. If I encounter a large tangle/ I put the brush down and work it out with my fingers. I’ve been wondering how these two brushes compare, Great video!! 💗💗
My daughter only finger detangles and when I braid her hair, I find all kinds of shed hair tangled in her roots. I just don't think for most folks just finger detangling works. At least that's what i think.
I'm going to start doing this. I do finger detangle before I brush, but whenever I encounter a tangle WHILE brushing I never set it down rather I try to just readjust the way I detangle. I want to try that because sometimes brushes just can't work through big knots, but your fingers can!
This review was amazing. The Felicia Leatherwood brush looks like it's better quality material and more sturdy vs the other brush. I've had my F Leatherwood brush since 2016 and it's still in great shape. It gets the job done without excessive breakage. I loved your unbiased take on these tools🖤🤎🧡
One of the advantages of having low density fine hair is being able to forget about combs. Even did a gel down pony tail this weekend without a comb or brush. And I’m here for that.
I use the Felicia brush. I used to use a wet brush, and I still use the wet brush on my daughter. I feel like the Felicia brush more effectively removes shed hair. I don’t think I’d like the movement of the EZ Detangler.
I have a VERY short attention span and I’m always able to really listen to you, like I can actually pay attention when watching you, I think it’s how you talk like you’re trying to teach me something 😂😂
I never bothered getting the easy detangler because I already had the Felicia leatherwood and the two brushes looked too similar. I also have two tangle teezers so to get another detangling brush would be me just throwing money at this point lol. Great review!
Great, Great Review!!! When it comes to detangle tools, I have tried paddle brushes, pseudo Denman brushes, and wide tooth combs that did not give me results like the FLB. I actually love that brush! Granted, my hair is not dense, nor is it 4C. It is however type 4. Generally, I finger detangle prior to shampoo and then afterwards, with conditioner in my hair, I use the FLB horizontally in small sections. Such a life changer! BTW, love the dramatic interlude! It's totally you, so don't change. 💞
When I heard that you just finger detangled and didn't use hair tools, I did that after I washed my hair and I was like omg my fingers can do as much as a detangling brush can. I was so scared but it worked! I'm transitioning so working with 2 textures is hard but thanks so much for giving us amazing tips and sharing your knowledge with us
Agreed! Length/gravity changes 4C hair's appearance. Ion like the FL brush--i got one and was pumped but I feel it pulled out more hair than my Phillips Flexx brush with the aqua/gray color. I do think fingers & wide tooth comb works better than both.
HereDianna Yep! I also use the Felicia Leatherwood when I want extra definition like for a twist out. But for most purposes, a wide tooth comb is sufficient
My hair is to fine for finger detangling but to thick for a wide-tooth comb. I just hear my hair snapping when I finger detangle. I am very gentle like so gentle that it takes all day. That's why I need a brush. I love the paddle brush.
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this comparison ! But I really do think you should actually buy the EZ detangler brush from the official website because the bar on the actual brush doesn’t fall off the way you were saying it does. And I think you should specify that you’re using an EZ detangler brush dupe (because there are sooo many dupes out there and they’re not as good as the original one). I love the EZ detangler brush. My hair is so thick and it’s made detangling so much easier for me 😊. As always, love your videos and all the work you put into them! You’re my current hair goals and I’ve learned so much watching you ❤️❤️❤️
I'm a finger detangler!! But I recently purchased the Felicia Leatherwood Brush during the Buy Black Blackout Day! I forget what the actual day was called.... I use it for my little cousin's 4c hair and it works wonders!!
It’s a dupe. They basically copied the Leatherwood brush. Nice review but detangling 101: start at the very tips of your hair and slowly rise up always including the section previously detangled. You will get even less hair fall. It also helps if you hold the section your detangling stretched.
Such a thorough review. Great job!! I’m biased and Have loved Felicia For years so I’ll never purchase from ez detangler. Lol I also Don’t think I would like the spread apart feature
I have the EZ Detangler and I don’t do vertical at all. It seems weird to hold it that way (I’m also a lefty). I love it. I want to try the Felicia Leatherwood one as well because she is blacked owned. EZ seems to come from China.. so not sure if they are blacked owned as they say
7:54 Yes! I have to convince people all the time because my hair looks looser when it's wet and super saturated with products. And girl, my head of hair is kinda like yours... The easy sections, thicker sections...
For the EZ it may have said to start vertically but you do not have to continue. Also I don't know if it's just me, but when using allot of conditioner it tends to glob and solidify while detangling, so I use either less conditioner, just water or a spray on leave in that's water based.
I wanted this video so much. I'm new on my natural hair journey. And me and my 4d(lol) hair don't know each other yet. Combing though my natural hair takes so much upper body strength I have to lay down for an hour. I saw the green brush on RUclips and thought I need help maybe this will help. So great to see how it works for her before I buy! Love her personality and look forward to new ones!👍😁
I never understood the hype behind finger detangling. I don’t understand how pulling wet hair apart with your fingers all of a sudden makes it detangled. I don’t know. Maybe I just don’t get the art behind it.
I seriously like the cheap brush better only because I feel like the FL tugs a little too much. I am only going to use the FL in the shower going forward. The cheapie brush I’m able to use on damp hair no issues
ooooh can you try the Kazmaleje paddle comb?? I just used it for the first time and omg!! I've never been a huge fan of the Tangle Teezer and all of these other brushes that have come out because I feel it rips my fine hair but the paddle comb is BOMB
I’ve been finger detangling since my hair still so short but I just bought the EZ detangler. You definitely helped me figure out how to use it once it gets here cuz i had confusion 😂
Finger detangle?! You must teach me your ways. I have the Felicia leatherwood brush, that bad boy has gotten stuck in my hair I had to call for backup 😭. I do like it though I use it in small sections.
I don't ever have to work for it when using the FLWB. Because I use way more conditioner on my hair so the slip with lots of water when using her brush is an easy breeze. Try using more conditioner let the conditioner emulsify in your hand by rubbing your palms and hands together to emulsify on wet hair then apply to root to ends. Try AG Boost Conditioner with your added conditioner it will help so much better with a great slip. I know this video is old but wanted to share this great tip of you haven't tried it yet. You have high density beautiful coarse hair Shalom.
I guess the EZ detangler is more suited for vertical detangling because of the curvature of the brush vs the Felicia leatherwood which is dead straight so it would probably be better done horizontally 🤷♀️
I’m not purchasing nothing from EZ Detangler ever again. They took 3 months to send my items and it was back and forth with customer service about my address. It’s a long story but let’s just say they have bad customer service in my opinion. They don’t take care of their consumers. No refund no nothing. I did my items though but never again. 👎🏾😤😡
Good comparison! Yes the same shed hair. Personally, I went with the Felicia because it is black owned , like you said receipts! Thank you messenger😝😂😹

@latoyaebony This might also be helpful. From the brush's vertical position, I kept the bristles on my scalp rather than on the hair away from the scalp. That allowed the brush to glide through the hair without drag, pull or tension. By the time I switched to the horizontal position, the brush went through the sections (large and small) with ease. The hair loss was very minimal. I hope you try it to see how it works for you. If it works significantly better, please record an updated video. Thanks.

I have thin, fine hair and tried a brush and my hair hated it! It was frizzy and definitely shedded a lot more even during the after washes. Now that you've said something, it was probably the after effects of brushing my hair. I only finger detangle but was trying to try something new.
I just received my order from Kazmaleje pronounced (cosmetology). I got the paddle comb. Just washed my hair. Effortless!!!!! Best in shower detangling brush ever!!!!! Kazmaleje.com.

I have thin, fine hair and tried a brush and my hair hated it! It was frizzy and definitely shedded a lot more even during the after washes. Now that you've said something, it was probably the after effects of brushing my hair. I only finger detangle but was trying to try something new.
Okay, people always question hair once its healthy and long🙄 I just say some dumbass answer just to trip them up haha
Oh no! 🙈 lol! I get it...it’s just...frustrating.
@@LaToyaEbonyHair Exactly, so incredibly frustrating
I just received my order from Kazmaleje pronounced (cosmetology). I got the paddle comb. Just washed my hair. Effortless!!!!! Best in shower detangling brush ever!!!!! Kazmaleje.com.
