On a side note....I would love to see Morgan coach the Irish cricket team, and revolutionize their cricket!
would be great for world cricket
I think Morgan would be offered the KKR (IPL Team) job first. Don't get be wrong, I would love to see the Irish team do wonders under his tutelage as it would be for the greater good of cricket but it would be better to hone his skills in franchise teams and then go for the big jobs.
There's not enough depth to Irish cricket for him to warrant it
@@z_mystic Indeed. Perhaps he can play a role in that as well in some capacity. Ofcourse if Ireland play an attractive brand of cricket, then it will atleast get them more games against bigger teams...and the money will start to flow. Once that happens, the infrastructure can be strengthened more broadly.
Nothing against Morgs.. But, Cricket matches aren't won by Coaches/ Managers.. It is won out of sheer ability to outperform opposition
The best interview with an England Coach for years. Clear, concise and free of all the usual clichés, he comes over as a really intelligent cricketer and a top bloke.
Agreed - this is exactly why some of the english coaches appointed before and management fail - full of buzz words and negativity.
Can you imagine a Silverwood team going at over 4 runs an over in test matches.................??
Very low IQ Cricketer. His coaching style will have disastrous long term effects on England. I'd say a Justin Langer or Ricky Ponting would of been better coaches, as they both batted to the conditions, not like wild men. Also their Cricjetinv brains are not low IQ. From New Zealand.
@@richardsculley67 is it necessary to bat at over 4 an over. Better to win with high IQ that bat like a wild animal to entertain. From New Zealand.
Baz seems like a proper stand up bloke, really looking forward to the future for english test cricket
As an England fan who’s been going to tests, proper cricket, for many years, I was surprised but chuffed with the appointment
. But I cannot believe the turnaround. Utterly incredible the influence he’s had already and a really decent bloke too.
he woulve been better as the Odi/t20 coach. Langer or Kirsten would've made a better test coach.
@@eyecontrol4900 heresay
@Siddharth Sriram if listening to him and not seeing that being positive with what you can do rather than being negative about what you cant hasn’t sunk in then im not sure you even listened
@Siddharth Sriram being as you mention something that has no relevance to anything said the interview or anything I’ve said then it appears not.
Just listening to Brendon has me feeling inspired, the guy represents everything thats great about cricket and I wouldn't swap him for anyone. So happy to have him as our coach.
Absolutely love this mentality, excited to see what’s to come now!
nothing comes you will be lost by Indian bowling again 😎😎😎😎
@@vijaybalrammehta 😂😂 will save this and come back in a couple of weeks
@@gregorybush3772 i have already make screenshot of your comments with mine 😃😃😃😃
In test cricket England is always struggle against Aussie in England and away always
India is coming ,, real face of england will be shown again😂😂😂,, their real weakness cant reveal by newzealnd they looks poor bowling ,,,
What a great interview, you can see why the players love him - his mentality etc... I'm one to call for Crawley out for example but what he said about him/other players and I'm like "hmmm, yeah. Fair enough"
Love how he answered the question. I expected him to say something like ‘I’m not going to single anyone out now,’ or something to that effect, but he not only answered it, he did so clearly and in a way, as you said, that made me think, ‘fair enough.’ I do think there’s a limit to how many 20s you can score for one 200+ score, but I definitely feel more comfortable with the reasoning for keeping him a bit longer after that interview.
The way he stuck to his mentality and stayed humble and professional throughout the interview was amazing! Such an intelligent and well-spoken person with such great values! You can see he genuinely cares for each and every human that exists on that squad.. Does a perfect coach exist? I think yes.
It’s great they got Brendon it’s basically his first proper big national role and the way he played through his career is attacking and not wasting balls clearly this is England new mentality and they have a great squad to do it too.
I agree with that - I think it's a great matchup Brendan and England, had a dreadful run in Test cricket but still have some quality players. The confidence Brendon will bring will get the ball rolling again and I think they'll have a good series against India. In recent years NZ and India have played exceptionally well in England but I think against India this is as good a chance as any for England to win another series.
@@dtrjones It's not a series against India, it's the final test from last summer which was postponed due to covid.
@@ajb1149 Ah yeah I remember now thanks! 👍
They ONLY beat NEW ZEALAND!
The way The Women's Team is playing, they would beat N.Z.mens PATHETIC excuse of a Test Side.
@@ajb1149 Yes and unfortunately the best we can do is therefore draw the series but that’s OK. An unusual set of circos😀
Love Brendon passion drive a great motivator for the team. Paul.
Credit should also go to Rob Key for reviving England's red ball cricket.
Good shout
They just won 3 test matches against new zealand at home and you are saying rob key revive English test team come on bro England always do well in English conditions check Englands home record in last 12 years England lose just 3 home test series in last 12 years
The 1st test series in a long time that was very enjoyable to watch. Both teams deserve plaudits. The litmus test for "bazball" will start on Friday. Interesting days ahead.
The best breakthrough coach I've ever seen
It's still weird seeing him as England coach.
Trust me he’s a legend aswell
It's weird because it's against his own nation.
he did so well and he was a surprise choice tbh
he woulve been better as the Odi/t20 coach. Langer or Kirsten would've made a better test coach
What a bloke.
So positive and inspiring.
When England cricket sets its eyes on improving in one form of cricket they end up revolutionizing it. They did it with One Day cricket, and they are on their way to revolutionize Test cricket 🏏
Damn...wish we nz had him as coach
Brendon in his mind:
"I felt so alone in my entire career to dominate the opposition. But now I have got the chance to unleash 11 Brendon over them each time. So be careful fellas!"
Brendan McCallum you Legend 💪
I think this is the new era for test cricket and for England. Few year ago, in 4th innings 250 it’s not chase able but nowadays it’s very common to chase 300/350 and more England did . So, through the English cricket test cricket will b rapidly changed.
India already did that in gaba
Some people are just meant for certain jobs. And Brendan McCullum is made for the England test coaching role. Hopefully we can keep on a positive trajectory now. Huge series against a very good India side coming up, but we have nothing to fear.
Wow, great players have great vision as well wether playing or in supporting role they can inspire the up coming generation and can bring the positive change that's what we are expecting as cricketer, as cricket lover.
I hope amazon are doing a series in the dressing room about this new England team 😍
Does he coach football? We need more of this mentality going into the World Cup!
🤣🤣
Handy player. Played down in Otago with his brother Nathan.
What about southgate😢😮
great start by England and Brandon hope it continues and you have made test cricket exciting again 👍
It's a start that none of us expected
big up baz, what a boy
"It's a simple game. You throw the ball, catch the ball, hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains"
Lol that was very easy 😂
Itss very easy for coach to say some time you win some you lose because in Cricket captain and players faces criticism from fans and media not the coach so it's not simple England'winning the series now they can say anything 🤣🤣🤣
Baz my all time favourite cricketer ❤️❤️
Most handsome coach in ever cricket
Very impressive guy.
He is an inspiration
Brendan, I've seen him coach before for the KKR and he was an excellent coach for them so i had no doubts about him, but Stokesy on the other hand i had a few doubts, but both have been very impressive so far! Let's not forget this NZ team were number one a year ago and they beat England at their home and they also beat India for the WTC and considering how England fared in Australia and then losing to WI in WI, this is a huge turnaround atleast from neutral (my) perspective.
Lets go Brendon
BM is a good guy. He was a great cricketer and leader when he played. The issues we have had I think is becoming apparent is a lack of aggression, which we seem to have gotten sorted.
Seems like a great appointment for English cricket hope he succeeds
Great series win for England. Players tend to respect coach who been there and done that. Baz Def one of the great players game have ever seen. Now the hard thing will be having the same mentality in Australia and India.
Use to NZ rugby coaches going up north but this appointment hits hard. Hold on to him England.
The beautifull game of cricket. It is very necessory that England should keep winning test matches.
Will make a great ashes series next year two aggressive teams going at it... self belief chasing a total great coaching appointment ...
Class act
According to Morgan, the change of England in limited over cricket began right after pathetically beaten by Brendon McCullum in his last World Cup.
And now McCullum is here again to aid England's test cricket!
I mean, really how many of you ever thought that one day BAZ will turn out to be a Test cricket Coach? Just unbelievable.
Congratulations and best of luck Mr. BAZ.
Makes it sound so simple, play in the moment and don't overcomplicate it. Combined with Stokes the England team is going to be pretty hard to beat!
Bazz!💟💟
All the best English team
this English team with baz and stokes will go a long way with the clarity of mind and with their aggressive mindset, looking forward to the next test against 🇮🇳
Both Kiwis🙃
India and Australia are still ahead of England
@@peternagy-im4be England win just 3 test matches against new zealand and new zealand low on confidence after they lose to Bangladesh in new zealand they draw that series 1-1 and south africa also draw test series in new zealand so new zealand totally out of from at the moment as a team and England prepare flat pitches against new zealand and England bating line up still looks weak top 3 struggling at the moment root and stocks very good batsman but Jonny bairstow is a hit miss player he never going to perform regularly in test cricket
Bizarre really how one nation's hero becomes the coach of a nation fighting the nation that produced him. Imagine having a Russian born Prime Minister leading England into a war against Russia...it's quite odd. But I guess all the cricketing nations are friends and respect each other....that is rather life affirming actually....that the game is more important than the borders of the countries playing the game....
War and Sport are two completely different things mate. In professional sport complete professionals don't look at such things
@@MuhammadSaad-yk6ij That's exactly what Stephen said at the end of his comment mate
@@soumyashreebiswal14 I guess so, but he did call it bizarre at the start. Ah whatever it is what it is
Your stupid or what, it ain't war, it's cricket, war produces only blood, cricket produces sportsmanship that's what he is doing, stfu
20 yrs Jimmy played with 3rd generation of English cricket team and still playing absolutely no one can replace him.
Yeah only in England
Buzz change to the eng test cricket he is deserve that
A dream start for Brendon McCullum's England Test Head Coach role and Ben Stokes' 1st major Test assignment has been a big success.
Head Coach and Captain's call to attack the opposition whenever in a pressure situation and not just playing defensively has been that big change in this English Squad I have noticed in this series.
A new and positive change indeed, and that has resulted in a whitewash 3-0 win, their first v NZ since 2015.
All my best wishes to Brendon, Ben and Co. for the One-off test against India. 🙌🏼
It's all about mentality ...
It's all about what you stitch and you let it settle smoothly because at times it's not about change instead it's down to how we encourage and built and make the skill do the rest.
Bazza! 👍🏻
He is star of test cricket and thaswhat he is making him team too.
It seemed like an additional interview round by a panel even after the candidate was given the offer letter 😀😁😂
What a coaching by Brandun Macculam to English Tigers 🐅 👏
England have made the best decision in theire entire cricketing history to appoint this man as their coach
"what is bazball" solid gold!
Would love to see how they fare in Aus and Ind. I hope they play with the same freedom.
In india if they play ultra agressively indian spinners will destroyed them 🤣🤣🤣 and same with Australia
Will Crawley play on Friday love your comments and views. Paul
One thing that struck me is they're standing heightwise😂🤣
Bazz❤️

simon doull straight to the point!!!
I said this every time we would refuse a chase under Root and try and bat out a draw, I would rather watch us lose in an entertaining way, than draw (or win) in a dull one. This new approach is great. We will get it wrong, we will be humiliated, but it’s the entertainment business after all and that should be at the heart of how we play
Very interesting comments about Crawley as well. Consistency is the name of the game in test cricket. Bit alarming he said Crawleys game isn’t consistency especially batting at #3. But i guess all is well.. when you wacking NZ around the park.
Agreed - test cricket is all about consistency. Crawley has the potential to become a great batsman but so did Ramprakash and Hick. He keeps getting out so there must be something not right with what he is doing. He averages 30 in first class cricket and 27 in test cricket - so perhaps he needs time away from the Test team to get it right before returning. You can’t work on the job in test cricket - you have to be confident before going out in the middle.
@@defaultYTchannel could not agree more. Ravi Bopara another example of what was supposed to be a strong batting all rounder that never found consistency or confidence.
People like Baz, Stokesy and for that matter even Virat Kohli, simplify the game to the basics .. which is what is needed to win ...
England chess 270+ 3 back to back test match over 5 runs outstanding
love how he spoke about zakk.... stick with him he'll come good
How long can you stick with someone averaging 25 though, need to find a test opener that can average 40+
@@aaronwarner1257 Someone like Dawid Malan for example should never have been dropped after the ashes debacle. I know he's a bit older than most of the other players but he did better than all the other batsmen bar root in terms of runs scored in Australia yet was discarded still. The whole batting lineup failed in the ashes really so was he scapegoated for that? Won't surprise me if Crawley's out for a duck against India on Friday or no more than 10 at the most
@@sammybeck4855 I still don't understand why malan has disappeared. I was fully expecting him to be th number 3 going forward. Him and Root put together the only meaningful partnerships in the Ashes
Coach NewZealand, Captain Newzealand... 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
If Brendon knows his stuff..., he has 12 hrs to talk Eoin out of retiring... Get your skates on Brendon..!!
Thats not his job, he’s only the test coach
Not his job and also wonder if it’s time for Eoin to step down anyway, while our white ball team is very successful, his runs have dried up a lot recently, buttler or even uniting the 3 modes and having stokes as captain could be a better shout. Saying that due to his level of success I’d like him to stay on maybe as a coach and mentor to his successor
@@callumwilletts8746 for promoting young talent, Eoin Morgan sacrificed his career, he was in red hot form and scored around 7-8 T20Is 50s in about 12-13 matches in 2019-2020 and was scoring consistently in ODIs as well but gave away his usual no 4 spot to accommodate youngster or new comers like Banton and Malan in the top order and starting batting at 6 and 7 (during pandemic era) and was hardly getting few deliveries to bat and started getting out in search of quick runs and he never recovered from that slide
England best test coach
England beat NZ 3-0 with a Kiwi captain and coach 😉
😆 Slightly different with Stokes.
Except that Stokes came here as a kid and was coached here. We don’t all have a population of 1.350 billion to choose from. I could make the same points about Marnus Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja but I won’t, seeing as kids move when their parents move; what would you have them do, put them up for adoption?
On a side note the underrated Nick Knight is a hell of an anchor it's unfortunate Wardy is pretty good too
He is England's Ravi Shastri 😅😛
It’s a fearless new England test side. Actually, Chris silverwood destroyed the attacking mentality of England team which was left by Trevor Bayliss. Now, brendan brought the fearless mentality again in the team.
Someone get Daz a hat that fits him!
Maccullum the snow lion
Now, Indians wanna play 5 test match series all over again against this side of English team but sadly one test. We're definately expecting more intense battle.
Let's hope you get that in the white ball series.
Whats special in this english side?😅
Fir a surprise..they won a series after a while and people r already overhyping that
Wellcome to STOKEY X Brendon ERA 🙂
Nice to see an English coach not talking about data and how they are all good guys doing the basic things right……
Never once met a Kiwi I didn’t like.
Gareth Southgate take note...
That's not going to happen unfortunately.
Spot Jonathan Agnew hanging around in the background looking for an Interview 😅
Its so funny...Stuart Broad and James Anderson played agaist him several times. And now he is their coach.
I can't believe that a few appointments can change a test team to this extent. You have to wonder about the previous mindset and attitude because basically it's the same group of players. Crawley though is in the last chance saloon against India.
I mean come on boys !! Giving credit this early is not fair. when Brendon McCullum took over this expected as he would know all the weakness of his all his old team mates! They will need to prove in Asian Sub continent as well other continent to be consider them an good team!! Long way to go!!
Prove where ?😉😂
Everything was great . But why Root in place of Bairstow as MOS
Plight of NZ , Stokes+ McCullum both are kiwi still they're celebrating NZ loss
Can’t believe he don’t know what Baz ball is
A great start and he speaks so clearly about everything. Silverwood just wasn't the right coach for this specific group of players. I still have doubts about Crawley but respect the thinking from this interview. Let's roll over India but most importantly prove we can do it abroad. Exciting times for Test Cricket.
Catch , felding most important so please 🙏 training sir in england team
England shouldn't go overboard with this victory. They won't win overseas tests with this kind of mentality. You need to be a bit sensible at times as well.
They also need to focus on their defend too as well beacuse they always can't wack the bowler day in day out
we need Butler in test
No we don't
Will see from friday how same brand of cricket will be played and successfully also...wished india play more than one test coz as for one test india might be losing it untill they find their feet in the test
Modern Day Vibhishan😂😂
why dont we ever play old Zealand we and every other country only play New
I notice Brendan McCullum isn't doing many interviews at the moment. Beating a declining NZ team is easy, beating a good team isn't. Would love to hear him talk of the seemingly low IQ cricket England are using at the moment. McCullum scored a fantastic double hundred against India followed by a triple. Really good pride in defense, all that. The rest of his career he batted like a wild man, basically throwing bat st ball. He has a Very weak argument for his lack of defense throughout his career, saying "that simply wasn't my thing". Ricky Ponting just for one example talks with great pride on the D. McCullums a disaster in my opinion. From New Zealand.
Deep down he is sad also. I can feel it 0:05
Yes bro his hearts is with nz
Only one thing to say to Indian team, "get out of stardom and focus on your potential"
England team playing defance playing very important so please 🙏 training sir
