Fearless or reckless? I seem to remember Kevin Peterson got fired for being reckless , even though he had the highest average of his last tour.
I think test cricket has a element of chess about it, how about having one or two players to anchor the innings & everyone else play their shots?
Otherwise I can see us loosing as many as we win, test cricket is a marathon, not a sprint, no good winning 9 rounds to get knocked out in the 10th, play to win by all means, but let's play smart, otherwise its juvenile.

I like how Baz has clearly said we're not playing the opposition, we're playing the crowd. The result isn't the win, the result is the entertainment - win or lose don't be boring. @Athers, sorry to disagree, no one is borne the finished deal, that thinking is dangerous and disabling; Leadership is a muscle, you must exercise it. Practice, practice, practice - it can all be learned with enough focus and intent. Some of our best leaders are self-taught - Field Marshal Montgomery is the easy example. Psychology, communication, moral confidence and character are all essential but they are things we learn. If we don't believe we can learn we won't try, we are invited to sit back and wait for a messiah to come, like luck. Gary Player once said something to the effect, the more I practice the luckier I get.... Nass is right, own yourself and your team, make culture a conscious choice, move that culture into empowering and enabling places, away from fear, free your people to excel.
