@@S.P.S.SRIRAM When I asked Harsha for a photo he said yes happily and we even had a short conversation about the test match that was going on at that time. Don't be so insensitive, Harsha is a great guy and he probably had a good reason why he said no.
These guys are really giving some great insights in a batsman’s mentality and technique. Well done boys wish I’d had you guys and a mentor or coach when I was a decent junior!!
Matches in England are very interesting because of the capricious nature of the weather. Mostly the wickets are flat with a bit of bounce offered, (unlike the NZ pitches which are prepared green as the flat wickets don't wear out due to the tropical conditions) Batting against the new ball is always challenging under overcast conditions and tests the temperament of the batsmen; once the ball loses its shine, batting gets very easy and middle order batsmen can feast if the top order hangs in there, but if the top 3 get out cheaply, the middle order is exposed and if they are not upto the mark, there are batting collapses
In england the pitches do a lot till the month of June and when it rains it is very very difficult to score.newzealand and England are very similar conditions.
Sorry in england in the month of May and June with rain the pitches are very fresh and are highly condusive to Seam and swing bowling ,it becomes out and out bowling pitches with scores around 250becoming match winning scores ,further with batters with limited technique gets thoroughly exposed under these conditions of only from mid July and upto September the pitches become drier and much better for batting.
To summarise their conversation you may be a big or small player batting in the middle order or top you may get all the help and coaching at the end of the day you r the man at crease batting you r responsible to asses the condition and different bowlers and decided who to defend and which one to attack. The conditions may be difficult and favouring bowlers you have to survive and apply all the learning to get out of that situation..
There's a difference between trying to keep your wicket and contain whilst slowly scoring runs and then going for a big score aggressively. It's tough to watch the wickets fall around you and know you're not going to be able to score enough before those around you lose all their wickets. So it's interesting to see this discussion and see what the pros think. I admire Darren Stevens innings yesterday because he realised if he doesn't go big the team are in trouble, sometimes it works, sometimes it fails. This time it worked.
Nas is the crème de la crème of cricket commentary.. we in India really need an unbiased independent commentary coverage without the looming threat of BCCI
@@debolinapaul6171 the sky sports panel is remarkably insulated from the ECB opinions(much like BBC and the UK govt) Can't remember the last time I saw an indian network NOT carefully measure their words while talking about a star Indian batsman
The part where Rob talks about Joe Root batting out his crease is so relatable for me playing club cricket because it's actually tough to play the moving ball. It's not very quick it does a lot laterally which makes life hell when batting. Not to mention bowlers bowling a 5th stump line which you shouldn't really cut as they set 2 slips and a gully etc. How are you supposed to get runs against that? I just need a process to follow and not let myself go into a shell and keep scoring.
Mouth watering contest between India and England this summer. Great opportunity for India to really make a statement because of the seam attack we have now. If batters can somehow manage to get 300 plus.
If you find a way to stay in these kind of pitches, at some point either sun will come out and pitch will get flatten up and batting will be easy. Therefore you have to earn your right as a batsman to play in suitable conditions. That makes these kind of pitches fascinating and more watchable for the viewers. On the other hand of you prepare a already detioraited pitch on day 1. There is no way the pitch will get better for batting as game progresses and batsman will need huge luck to play in those kind of pitches against average spinners itself.
I am not against spinning pitches. What i am saying from viewing perspective is to prepare a subcontinent pitch which will assist Batsman and seam bowlers on day 1 and day 2 until then spinner can do a holding role. Then pitch starts to detioraite from day 3 and spinners will hugely come into party. From a viewership perspective you will get all players involved in the game has an opportunity to showcase their skills and as a viewer it will be fascinated to see how the drama unfolds from day3
So as per this discussion we can conclude England is super angry with that test series defeat in india and will prepare absolute Amazon Rainforest for pitches against India. Thats absolutely fair the challenge is on India now
Nasser, Nasser. Analysis of batting in difficult conditions? Positive mindset. Trust your technique. Know the bowlers. Clarity of thought. Guys. You can bat or you cannot. Nothing said here helps. Nothing here that a coach would say and it would help. Broad generalizations that help nobody. Watch the ball? Really guys.
