From the last 10 years, England team is in the "rebuilding" stage. Every time they lose badly, ECB says that they are in a rebuilding phase. This bullshit never ends. It's about time that ECB and Andrew Strauss take full responsibility of the recent debacles (first the horror series in India and now the Ashes). They say that KP's fans need to move on, but the bitter truth is that despite the passing of four years, they haven't found a suitable replacement for him. And they haven't found anyone to replace Swann and Panesar either.

England could do with a batsman that could bat all day. Geoff Boycott himself could bat all day. I think once he was batting too slowly and the next batsman in was told to run him out!
Yes it was the 2nd test England v New Zealand in Christchurch in 1978. Geoff Boycott was scoring too slowly in the 2nd innings and England needed quick runs to have enough time to declare and bowl NZ out. Ian Botham was sent out to get quick runs and Bob Willis sent him out to run out Boycott. England declared 279 runs ahead and bowled out NZ for 105 to win the match.

There a few positives for England despite a very poor series. Stoneman has shown he can play for periods of time. Vince has also shown he does have a technique for test cricket it's more of a mental thing to flash at the ball (they both can only get better from here). And lastly England should stick with crane as a front line spinner and give him the confidence to flight the ball
Stoneman, Vince, Malan, Overton and Curran showed great signs in my opinion, especially Overton - he troubled the best of the Aussies way more than Anderson or Broad.
Glimpses of potential - perhaps. But if Vaughan says Stoneman was trying to prepare by facing underarms in the nets - when will he ever step Up? Sounds like Malan at least shows the desire to better himself and work on his weaknesses. Pretty shocking approach for one who should be gasping to go out and do better!
Also growing up in SA means he is more accustomed to faster bowling. Combined with his technique pushing him back in his crease means Australian conditions suited him well

The recent ashes was simple. Australia wanted it more than us... County cricket in England has to play a massive role on how it's going to develop its Test side. Don't be afraid of making fast wickets to Encourage our guys to bowl fast... make turning wickets so when we go to say the likes of India we are more technically better. Can u let me know if squad to face New Zealand please thanks... Also one other thing we produce wickets in England to favour our side... So why is it we collapse big time in our own conditions. I would like to hear Sir Geoff boycotts thoughts on that...
Vaughan: “In four years Jimmy Anderson won’t be there and Mason Crane will have four years of test experience” it is now 2024 and… lol. Also, we’re still hoping to win overseas with guys bowling 80mph
This video was from the last Ashes Down Under. Writing this on 28th Dec, 2021 and England's frailities have only got worse. Batting minus Root is laughable and that is the huge problem along with catching. Bowling looks promising and in time they should move away from this ridiculous over-reliance on two men in their mid-late 30s
Four years later: Anderson and Broad still as good as ever. Found good backup in Robinson, and Wood has shown he can stay fit for four tests in a series. Still no world class spinner, Crane hasn't developed (or been given the chance to). As for the batting, England would kill for the averages they got in this series!
Jimmy's still playing... as well as Broady... they haven't found a world class spinner yet if to count Leachy as one I don't need to argue.. they haven't found an opener also yet...

How depressing four years later and nothing has changed! No decent spinner Anderson and broad still leading the attack Batsmen that can’t get big runs Captain out of his depth Says it all really
@@thedeadquaker Sure is and nothing will happen Losers in charge Loser as a coach Thought we were about picking the right man for the job not an ex county player…….

Boycott was honest and I as an Austrailian cricket fan loved his honesty. England didn't really learn last year either from this and went on to be lucky to draw the series at home. I love watching my country win but for the English they need to have a major overhaul in the batting lineup.
Away from the overcast and grassy pitches, Anderson and Broad cant take the wickets need. Anderson is also 35 by the way - cant expect him to keep his pace up and batsmens conditions and take wickets. England are turning into India of the late 90's and early 2000''s - tough at home, but cannon fodder on the road. Joe Root is also not a captain, top batsmen, but not a Test captain
we actually praised anderson in our video, as he kinda proved he can. but totally agree with your point otherwise. we just released two videos on the ashes and England squad selection for New Zealand. Let us know your thoughts, it would be great to know your thoughts.
Everyone is criticising Moeen Ali in this series. But what about Cook. 1st test Ali 78 runs. Joe root and Cook 75 runs combined. 2nd test Cook 53 runs Ali 27. 3rd test Cook 21 Ali 11. 4th test Cook 244 Ali 20. 5th test Cook 49 Ali 43. So basically take away the double century from Cook, and is there much difference between Cook and Ali with the bat in this series. Let's not forget that Ali is essentially a batsmen who can bowl decent spells. If he was playing higher up the order he'd have made more runs for sure He's made a score above 35 in tests from opening all the way down to number 9. I can't think of another player to have done this
Yes tms isnt worth listening to since Sir Geoffrey left...just more media mediocrity...dull dull dull, if Vaughny goes ill never bother to listen again
Now its time for Ian Chappel to give the same statement the one who gave against Pakistan on losing the series against the Aussies .I believe Pak performance wasn't too bad as of the English side.
Tell Root to grow a pair and start batting 3. Put JB at 4 because he is too good to be at 6-7 and get Stokes in for Vince. Crane needs to be given a run of 10 or so matches because bowling leg spin is a hard art and it took Warne a while to find his feet in the 5 day game. They're are some positives with the likes of Malan coming good and Jimmy showing he still has it but i dont think a mass exodus is required just a bit of fine tuning and we need to find someone who has the 90mph ball in the armory if needed
well said about crane, we mentioned a few other players that need to be included in our latest video. we just released two videos on the ashes and England squad selection for New Zealand. Let us know your thoughts, it would be great to know your thoughts.

Can u let me know if squad to face New Zealand please thanks... Also one other thing we produce wickets in England to favour our side... So why is it we collapse big time in our own conditions. I would like to hear Sir Geoff boycotts thoughts on that...
We now have the 90mph consistent bowler in archer. Still remains to be seen if leach can be our spinner. I think he can plus his batting is good.
But mcgrath never bowled very fast
"I hope so, I've had enough of this" lmao
4 years later and nothing has changed for England 🤣🤣
Vaughan: “In four years Jimmy Anderson won’t be there and Mason Crane will have four years of test experience” it is now 2024 and… lol. Also, we’re still hoping to win overseas with guys bowling 80mph
This aged well.
Boycs is a total Legend😁😁
Boycott is spot on nothing will change in 4 years…. And here we are in 2021 ..
Funny how a few years on it looks like Broad and Anderson are both likely to play in Australia 2021/2022. They've aged well!
broad and anderson both are still there. LEGENDS❤❤
Jimmy's still playing... as well as Broady... they haven't found a world class spinner yet if to count Leachy as one I don't need to argue.. they haven't found an opener also yet...
Who is here after the Boxing day test in 2021-22?
nowadays boder gavaskar trophy is entertaning between india and australia.. eng vs aus games in aus are one sided with all time aus winning with a whitewash
Geoff.A true Yorkshire man, what it is ,is what it is . Brilliant.
I think sometimes people forget Boycott is late 70s and can still give concise, non-biased opinions
Micheal Vaughan: “In 4 years Stuart Broad and James Anderson won’t be there.” Not quite yet 😂
I enjoyed what Brett lee had to say. From the very few words he managed to get in! From an Englishman, Lee was right. Cant just be negative. Take away positives. But nearly 4 years on, we've still not learned from what vaughan had to say. Still play on green seamers in county cricket.
Vaughan obviously got a time machine and went into the future
Geoffrey was brutally honest 5:20
And he was on point coz they did go home and beat India.... Lol..
They are masters of their own conditions....
How depressing four years later and nothing has changed!
No decent spinner
Anderson and broad still leading the attack
Batsmen that can’t get big runs
Captain out of his depth
Says it all really
5:00 "English cricket has to evolve, otherwise we're gonna say the same thing in 4 years, 8 years, 12 years..."
How prophetic!
@@thedeadquaker
Sure is and nothing will happen
Losers in charge
Loser as a coach
Thought we were about picking the right man for the job not an ex county player…….
Interesting how absolutely nothing has changed in 3 years
I am coming from future timeline, same Story will repeat in 2021 Australia Tour.
Top comments from Michael Vaughn & Geoffrey Boycott
they did a great job, a lot better than skysports. we just released two videos on the ashes and England squad selection for
New Zealand. Let us know your thoughts, it would be great to know your
thoughts.
5:24 - 5:28 " Forget Australia , Everything's Lovely " 😂😂😂😂😂 Geoffrey Is Great !!!
😂😂😂
Boycott was honest and I as an Austrailian cricket fan loved his honesty. England didn't really learn last year either from this and went on to be lucky to draw the series at home. I love watching my country win but for the English they need to have a major overhaul in the batting lineup.
Well they still have broad and Anderson
Sir Geoffrey...still the Broadest Bat from the Broad Acres!!
Michael Vaughan still said "batsman" in those days, not "batter".
Boycott was spot on yet again
Away from the overcast and grassy pitches, Anderson and Broad cant take the wickets need. Anderson is also 35 by the way - cant expect him to keep his pace up and batsmens conditions and take wickets.
England are turning into India of the late 90's and early 2000''s - tough at home, but cannon fodder on the road.
Joe Root is also not a captain, top batsmen, but not a Test captain
we actually praised anderson in our video, as he kinda proved he can. but totally agree with your point otherwise. we just released two videos on the ashes and England squad selection for
New Zealand. Let us know your thoughts, it would be great to know your
thoughts.
It would be a sad day if Kohli dominates him in England. I dont want that.
Anderson stood up and performed on this tour, though, taking 17 wickets in the series.
gotim well kohli did dominate him... Anderson couldn't even get him out even once...
Australia won 4-0 Ashes in 2021/22 would have won 5-0 if Pat Cummins declared early in Sydney.
I can't think of another player to have done this
brett lee is up there only to add some glamour ... :p no one gave him any chance to talk...haha..
I love Geoffrey Boycott. So much fun to listen to him. haha
Yes tms isnt worth listening to since Sir Geoffrey left...just more media mediocrity...dull dull dull, if Vaughny goes ill never bother to listen again
I love Cricket and Boxing, and Geoff Boycott reminds me of Prince Naseem Hamed - always entertaining to listen to even if he's wrong!
2021 ashes will be the most anticipated ashes in last 5-6 years
Maybe. But England leave this shore winless 3 times.
This is going bad so far
Now its time for Ian Chappel to give the same statement the one who gave against Pakistan on losing the series against the Aussies .I believe Pak performance wasn't too bad as of the English side.
Love Fiery.
Here after 2023 Ashes :-
Last 15 Tests in Eng:- 6-7
Last 15 Tests in Aus:- 13-0💀
Get well soon Geoffrey ⚘
Damn vaughan was right and labuschagne is the example
My thoughts exactly
I love how they said broad and anderson wont be there
4 years before, Boycott already predicted their fate!
Looks like they will be there!
Mallan and root still here . But missing Vince , bairstow , and stoneman , and sir Alister cook
I still think England will be an entirely different team back home with the Duke and I’m an Aussie.
Geoffrey Boycott = Im a Yorkshire man and I say what the bloody hell I want to say okay. Love his straight talking and im a Londoner :)
Will Martin wood and Jamie Overton both bowl 90. Stokes can too.
well said about crane, we mentioned a few other players that need to be included in our latest video. we just released two videos on the ashes and England squad selection for
New Zealand. Let us know your thoughts, it would be great to know your
thoughts.
