Yep. Great sound. Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, RHCP's focus so tightly on the sound of the band ... and it pays off. I know others do too (not enough of them, though) - just appreciate these bands.
It's like you've never heard Dave Grohl sing before. There is absolutely no way anyone could say the Foo Fighters suck. These guys are ridiculous musicians. One of the best rock bands of the time. There is no such thing as bands like The Who, The Rolling Stones, or Led Zeppelin anymore because there is so much crap out there. These guys are one of the few groups that may touch that status and still be listened to 20-30 years from now.
The more I listen to FF, the more i realize how unique this band is. And also how outstanding the drumplaying is. It makes the songs really groovy with all those cool fills and beats.

@@shagsmith3410 i do like his voice. Their mtv unplugged has kurt's best vocals, he had a natural "distortion" in his voice and could make it sound extremely beautiful. But i prefer dave's ones. Also i think his vocals are more powerful than kurt's. But that's just a personal opinion.
@@guilhermecastro4553 I can respect that. I was 16 when Nevermind came out and it was crazy. A lot of great bands came out around the same time. Monkey Wrench (and Everlong) are in Drop-D tuning. Dave usually uses the gold Trini Lopez for those songs....but he's using the blue one here....Hmmmm....does that mean they played Monkey Wrench in standard tuning that day? Inquiring minds want to know.
XOlleyX actually I'm pretty sure he sings "rich" live while on the album it's friends. There's another live vid of them playing and he very clearly says rich
MrSammyg22 ooh, I've genuinely never heard him say rich, though that'd make sense, which video does he say it in? Also it's possible he varies it every time
No, He was serious! It is Richard on drums. Taylor Hawkins was in Madrid that evening and Nigel asked Rick if he would drum for Foo. Barney drove him from Santa Barbara to the show on a Massy Ferguson 135 in the pouring rain without a cab. That's why his hair is wet. The band all went outside to carry in the drum kit and they got wet too. But one thing was for sure! They all still brushed their teef before going on stage!

Rip Taylor Hawkins
leokimvideo Yeah he did
Three guitars... but the clearest instrument in the mix is the bass (i'm OK with this).
Jonathan Martinez I love it when I can clearly hear bass. And Nate is awesome :)
Yes I totally agree with that. As a bass player it really pisses me off when people are like "guitars must be louder and clearer than bass" fuck that.
I agree dude, all I hear is bass guitar. Nate is awesome!

Its good that Pat Smear is back
Can't like this comment enough!

glad the bass is turned up. Alot of live videos have no low end. and He's killing it by the way

Perfect performance and sound!
in the beginning, that guitar filler sounds damn excellent. I never get tired of it.
It's got a hint of Johnny B Goode (the BTTF version) in it... the silence always throws my timing off on the studio version.

Love that he worked in the alternative “what do you do when all your enemies are French”. Epic.
