    Maybe a lot of the noise was coming from the roof rack and accessories?.
    Cheers Russell

    So I guess you guys have some odd tax incentives to take a large and expensive passenger SUV and convert it into a delivery vehicle?

  • @1auditurbo
    @1auditurbo Месяц назад +9

    Yes , most important you don't pay the toll road tax in Oslo and also some other toll roads in Norway are free.

    Few weeks ago i watched some video from Korea, about Hyundai Staria EV (verry roomy, and with a lot of modules, you can fit on the frame, even a pick-up bed.). I guess Kia will also bring a similar vehicle.That probably will fit 50 banana boxes.

    Very nice! How will EV9 charge at Tesla Superchargers with the charge port on the rear passenger side (right-side)? Many of th3 German EVs also have their charge ports in the same location....

    I like it. When I saw the size of the standard EV9, my thoughts were, built for the US market and useless in Brexitania. Unless you were going to turn in into a load carrier or treat it like a pickup with a secure canopy.

    we just came back from Bergen and were wondering what the green plates meant - I thought it must mean commercial vehicle coz only vans seem to have them....

    1000km challenge? I predict the summer tires will put you close to the normal EV9 even with that massive roof rack, at least I saw a huge reduction in consumption when I put on the summer wheels on my EV9.

    I wonder how it would compare to smaller vans like the VW caddy type size

    Problem with like VW Caddy the front seats can be go back as far as a normal car, the wall is in the way.
    Is this the same with this car?
    Or same adjustments as a normal EV9 with no wall?

    I have a Mercedes EQV and when I need to carry a lot of stuff, I don't fold the seats but take them out - that would be the real King of the Banana-Box-Test. Downturn is the thirst and nowadays slow loading. ID-Buzz and Kia EV9 are way faster at the 1000km challenge but the space in the car is huge.

    Great vehicle for the Arctic Circle run - would the extra wind noise also be due to the poor aero of the roofrack? I know lots of people who ordered their new Defenders with the Adventure roof rack and side sandwich box who have removed them because they wanted the big offroad adventure wagon look but then took them off because the additional noise and increased fuel consumption - amazing how many Defender roof racks and sandwich boxes are for sale on auction websites!

    • @livinagoodlife
      @livinagoodlife Месяц назад

      I’ve got a Defender with this pack. The roof rack noise isn’t that bad. Naturally it does add a bit of fuel consumption but not as much as my new more off-road tyres. It’s actually surprisingly efficient.. 3L V6 diesel and gets 10L/100km. The side gear carrier I haven’t fitted because it’s a bit dorky and I plan to sell it

    What about to use it as a campervan to sleep in? It sounds like it's long enough for most people. Interior electric outlet for a kettle/induction cooking. Does it have a camp mode in the HVAC system?

    • @piscario75
      @piscario75 Месяц назад +1

      HMC cars have utility mode that works similar. Car is on but not drivable, everything else works as normal running from HV battery and not just the 12V system.

    I love the look of the EV9, but not it's price - well over $110k AUD here! I guess that's the price you pay for a large EV.

    • @Harhawink
      @Harhawink Месяц назад +3

      Actually nope. Thats tens of thousands below the average of the price you gotta pay for the same size of an EV from another manufacturer.

    We didn't buy one here in Canada because there was a big lip inside the back door and we could not open dog crates. Yes, it was expensive too. An ID4 was actually more useful. Too bad we will not get the ID7 estate here, only the sedan.

      In norway most big suv/pickups are sold as 2/3 seaters. That would include the typical 4 seater American pickups, f-150, excursion etc, Toyota Hilux, land cruiser, landrovers, gelenderwagen. The list goes on.. A used four seater f-150 cost you 2million NOK, with two seats it's 1 million NOK🫨 Before the standard " EU box measuring tool" (it's a pallet/box that has to fit in the car for it to qualify as a van tax vise) came into play, you could get wagons, like the 850 on green plates. So there was a lot of green plates two seated 850R around. M5's and S4's too. Even crazyer was the Porsche 928 and 944 "vans".. They put a plexi glass behind the front seat and made a new bootlid, so that the could fit some cargo. The car suddenly was half the price.. The wall still is a thing, but you now also have a box that has to fit in, so now creating useless vans for tax reasons isn't a thing.. And for tradesmen/service tecnicians etc the ev9 is a viable options. I'm pretty confident that the most sold van in norway is a vw caddy..

      @danielstefanovic2604 Месяц назад

      @@rockfosg Yeah for fosil it makes sense since you pay less tax but ev`s are mostly excempt from tax so it basicaly cost the same as passenger version.
      I remember when the dodge ram srt 10 came out, it was atleast half the price in 2 seater configuration.
