I don’t hate Cybertruck. I don’t like Cybertruck. I just LOVE Cybertruck. I also just WANT one! Cheers!
Re: stalks. When I got my ‘21 M3 SR+, at first, it seemed strange. No display where there’d always been a display. No buttons, levers, dials, switches, geegaws, etc festooned around the cockpit. Very different.
But in no time I got used to it. And shortly after that, I grew to strongly prefer it. I get in a car that has all that, and I’m, “Ugh! What a bunch of cheap crap and clutter!” and can’t wait to get back to the Tesla.
So I can totally understand your comments about being stalkless and the simplicity of it, even though I’ve yet to experience it. 😁
Great video, excellent overview!
I know, I keep on saying this but you always give the best fair and balance with reviews, thank you sir for all you do to give us the best content
Amazing video bro as always! I appreciate you honesty and my reservation just became available today!!! 🤘🏼
You could think of your vehicle like a shoe. You normally may want to keep your shoes clean, dry, even polished. Now, with Cybertruck, you have the first durable work boots. You have no need to keep it shiny and pristine, get the grass, mud, sand out of it, etc. Just stomp the mud off and keep going.
The first durable work boot? I think trucks have been that for almost 100 years. How delusional are Musk fans?? If you don't clean this truck it'll rust and fall apart, and if you clean it in a car wash "the wring way" it'll void the entire thing's warrenty
I test drove a refreshed Model 3 yesterday, the turn signal buttons were "clicky" and not capacitive like on the Model S and X.
“There are swirl marks” then proceeds to show by rubbing his hand with a ring onto the body 😅
The thing about the solar charging is that running your house pays for them - buying and using the cybertruck costs you nothing more. If you jump in it and drive a couple hundred miles - the extra cost is zero.
Thanks for this video, just was pinged by Tesla to buy a Foundation Series based on my order from 4+ years ago. I'm waiting for the standard AWD version because I can't afford the Foundation Series (retired). Re charging your EV with solar, it is free of charge, it has nearly zero CO2e impact, and simply pays off the cost of your solar panels/inverter(s) faster. I did the math on this 13 years ago, so I've known all along, and told friends, if you install Solar PV, get an EV, and your ROI (return on investment) will be much better from the fuel cost you avoid.
Chris, brilliant way to show the relationship between the steering wheel and the wheels with that inset. But I'd use an expression other than "deadly precise" (deadly not being a good word to use when talking positively about a vehicle). "Dead-on precise" might be better. :)
I just put a cyber truck steering wheel in my model Y. I absolutely love it.
Great production work on this video! You changed the camera shots almost with every point you made. It made the video.
Hey thanks! Tried something different
Jumping into my 3 or Y after driving my CT for the last month is SOOOOO disappointing in regards to the steering. One hundred percent the best “new” thing about the CT!
It's so crazy, never thought I would care or talk about steering so much lol
@@DirtyTesla for real!!! I’ve been completely unable to describe it to anyone properly either. I have let 4 people drive the truck. Not because there aren’t enough people interested - they’re the only ones who took the offer seriously 🤣 and they all came away absolutely shocked at the experience.
Did you accept the Poweshare install quote? Sucks that you can’t decline the installation and get the gateway and Wall mounted charger instead of the $700 in store credits. Sucks that FSD is not a priority over off road software updates, sucks that wheels covers are not available yet. Basically sucks that you can’t get what you already paid for and there is no communicated timelines. Aside that, it is MARVELOUS!!
So much better for the planet also Chris
Either I missed it or you didn't mention powershare. I think it or even being able to run extension cords to the house during power failures as I have done twice while waiting for full powershare to be installed has been awesome.
That's huge, but not available to me yet :)
Agree. Powershare is awesome.
Nice summary. Love it.
Kinda seems like you are happy with your Cybertruck.
Spen $100k on it ofc any one would be happy.
This isn't just a pickup truck, it's an SUV. Soccer Moms will love it!
Excellent video. Thanks for your insights.
If u hate cybertruck pls keep on hating on it.. I hope u get award for ur hating
😎🤙
Sweet, it's great to hear you enjoy and understand being a truck owner. It's the little things, like going to spontaneously pick up a new patio set. It's not really feasible in a car, but as a truck owner, it's no big deal.
Steering - the only problem with it is when you drive another car. I had to drive my wife’s model Y and the first couple turns I thought “why the hell wont it turn”.
Steering #2 - you can’t steer with your knee 🤷♂️ We need FSD!!!!! I’m holding off on some long road trips until FSD gets here.
I want one so bad!
Ditto!
Great video :) Thanks for posting the positive experience about the Cybertruck.
Seems odd that a vehicle that costs more than $100k requires after market purchases for storage bins throughout the truck that are standard on all other trucks. The few things identified as benefits...don't seem to be enough to justify the cost and reduced performance/capabilities you would get from a diesel truck. This is a vanity truck, not a work truck.
To be honest, not going to a gas station is worth the inconvenience of charging time. Not to mention the environmental impact of a gas station, refineries, oil and all the stuff you don't see behind the scenes. Nothing beats charging at home. NOTHING.😊
Boy oh boy are you in for a shocker when you see the impact behind the scenes of mining for whats needed in the batteries
Every vehicle is bad for the environment. But diversity is good so at least we arent grid locked to a single energy source.
@@JBS7551oh boy are you in for a shock when you find out that battery minerals are reusable in perpetuity, and recycling EV batteries is mandated by law. Not to mention battery mineral mining is a small portion of global mining operations, and EV battery minerals are a portion of battery minerals mined. Evidently electronics use battery minerals as well, but are not recycled nearly as often.
Hmm, nice idea, but quite naive. What do you thing, how cobalt is mined and by whom? Or how electricity is produced? EVs are not zero emission cars, but rather remote emissions ones.
@@slivkask8329well you subscribe to the false narrative.
Most of what you think you know about Tesla batteries is false. But what is true is that EV batteries must be recycled, by law. EV batteries are 95% recyclable with today’s technology. EV battery minerals are infinitely reusable. Meaning today’s batteries will provide the minerals for batteries 2 centuries from now. This will happen, because economics matter.
American EVs are 100% charged, by American energy. Generated by American plants, operated by well paid, American workers. Every American EV replaces an American ICE vehicle (typically a Toyota or BMW), which means there is more petroleum fuel available, which means you pay less for gas, because someone else chooses to drive an EV, rather than a Toyota or BMW.
Another fact is that most energy suppliers are finding more efficient ways to produce more electricity at lower cost. This means your utility bill will see stability for years to come. It’s profitable and sustainable for utilities to do this, and EVs make it easier to do, because they can be incentivized to charge during off peak times.
None of that fits the false notion you choose to believe, nothing I can say will change your mind, because you prefer confirmation bias, to research based analysis. So feel free to carry on.
❤ Cybertruck!
Wow!
The turning radius of the Cybertruck is really small.
This makes it relatively easier to control.
Cool video! Thanks Chris!
You really did a unique Wrap. You may as well tastefully add your RUclips channel link on this vehicle. There will be more to come when FSD, Holiday season software surprises and outside accessories for Forest or sand pit driving. 😊
• Tesla Model Y: The turning radius is approximately 19.9 feet (6.1 meters).
• Tesla Cybertruck: The turning radius is approximately 26.3 feet (8.0 meters).
So owning a cybertruck is like being a vegan, you're always telling people, even when no one asks. 🤣
BTW, thanks for the video! 👍
17:00 New 3 has clicky buttons, S/X are capacitive. It's very hard to keep track though, it makes zero sense for production streamlining too.
Weird, thanks. I used one of Tesla's new 3s as a loaner when they were working on the Cybertruck and the buttons were not clicky.
Tried liking twice :D
I drive a 2014 model S tesla. People are still skeptical. Its got 131k miles, i put 20k. Year on it since I got it. And still a huge % of people even in EV heavy california, are anti ev, or skeptical. Until you research it yourself or try owning one its hard to truly believe
Awesome post thank you
So if you don’t charge it at home you are screwed. Ok.
Now what about everyone flipping you off and depreciating
The steering is wild, have you gone back to any other car? I moved my wifes car and the oddness of having to turn the wheel many times to get to full lock felt super janky.
And with solar, yes you paid for the panels, but how many people who own gas powered cars would gladly pay for a gas pump to be installed in their driveway if any gas they got from it was free (even if it did come out from the pump slowly)
Yeah, I occasionally drive the Y but tbf it's like 99% FSD...
I've very early reservation, saw in real life-so, amazing but big-hope Tesla is working on a smaller one-just 6+ inches short, please!
I think if the scratches start bothering you, you can just sand them out, cause… stainless steal
Chris I’m pretty sure you didn’t have the unshaven look pre-Cybertruck. Is it a condition of ownership?
LOL :-)
I think your brain adjusted bc most of us 70's and 80's babies played driving video games and arcade games. That is
You should take your cybertruck over to silver lake! I’d like to see how it does in the dunes!
Curious what tint % you did. It looks awesome in the video. Did you tint windshield too? Picked up my cyber beast two days ago. Tinting very soon.
Thanks! I did 5% sides and nothing on the windshield. Congrats on the beast!
Sorry I thought I responded, this is 5% and I didn't do the windshield
9:24 you have over 11kw of solar panels? :O
14kW of panels and an 11.4kW inverter 8) house is 100% electric.
@@DirtyTesla Dang!
Living the dream! System thinking: when u plug an EV into home solar, suddenly it all makes sense.
Im still wondering how SBW feels when it comes to parallel parking and manoeuvring around tight car park spaces without mistakenly overturning and potentially hitting something?
Someone polished the ct to a mirror finish. Looks amazing.
So was that you Near Beck and Grand River the other day? That or another one around in the wild over here.
Nope, that's someone else
@@DirtyTeslabetter keep his dirty paws off youtube. Only enough space for one channel in this area. BTW, getting real tired of waiting on my Canoo. LoL
Nice real world review Chris and I'm happy to see someone enjoying the CyberTruck for the right reasons. I am one of those who passed on the Foundation Series (got my email last week) . I find the aesthetics of the Cybertruck lacking which is a nice way of saying ugly. Although great for a RUclipsr, the attention getting aspect would be very annoying but as they become more common that will fade quickly. I'm in California and see one almost every day and the my god that's ugly feeling I get seeing one is a factor.
A $30K price reduction is probably the only thing that would motivate me and even that is doubtful.
I don't know about others but I appreciate this viewpoint. Personally I like the CT look, but I can understand if you don't. I like that you got your point across without being condescending!
Yeah man, not everyone likes the same stuff and that's normal. The lower priced Cybertruck will be highly desired.
Do a new video where your wife gets to try fsd again! Fsd wasn't good enough the last time, but maybe she'll be impressed this time??
We're trying to find time!
What do you do for charging the model y and cybertruck the same day? Do you have 2 charging stations at home?
Yes, 40 amp in garage, 48 amp outside. If you have limited panel space, get 2 wall connectors and they can talk to each other and share power.
@@DirtyTesla Thats super interesting to share power on the same line.
I wouldn’t say it's the least efficient Tesla. I’m getting S/X kilowatt hours with my cyber beast around town and on the highway. 300-400kwh with an average of 383kwh.
5000 miles! Let’s go!! 👍👍👍
Truck = utilities. That’s why most of us driving trucks.
Great list of positives.. love to see it.. forgot to show us Steam! You’re a gamer, of course you’re going to show off the “console level gaming” included. Super excited to see how awesome those games look! 😉
😂 no steam included but I have a 3080ti for that.
@@DirtyTesla they cybertruck can’t play cyberpunk? What the heck?!? They were marketing teslas console level gaming and that game in particular right? What happened?
Yeah, it's a weird situation. And now they are not shipping newer S/X with Steam so I'm not sure what's going on
@@DirtyTesla They could certainly create a new Tesla specific steam certification profile using less memory instead of matching the steam deck profile. That *should* allow it to work, with just a smaller list of compatible games, on most every ryzen car to date. Will they? Dunno.
How much is your electric bill!!? (Without solar) I want a Tesla but can’t see cost savings worth it electric bill or gas prices
In general take whatever you pay for your gas car, and you'll pay about 1/4 of that in electricity. But this depends on what gas car vs what ev etc so you'll have to do the math with your electric rates
@@DirtyTesla 27mpg city 47mpg hwy 2023 Honda Civic Si but I still don’t think it’s viable in my situation
So glad you are loving your experience! I will say that I am surprised by the gushing by many over steer-by-wire. I drove a car with steer-by-wire for 3 years. It was good...and bad. I liked that I could decide how tight the steering was, but in the long-run, when I got my Tesla MY, I didn't miss it much. I have asked this in a few forums and have yet to get an answer. Without a mechanical backup to SBW, what happens if you are cruising at 70MPH and you lose your 24V Battery system? How do you safely steer to the side of the road? I just find that as a big question for this approach.
It has many redundancy.
Well I suppose it wouldn't work. But cars have been using the same tech for the accelerator for many years. Worst case you'd hit the brakes and slow to a stop where you were.
@@DirtyTesla But at that speed, do you not think you could easily lose control and plow into something before you could stop? Lose your accelerator, and you coast. I'm just hoping someone who knows exactly what would happen can answer my question. No offense, but every time I post this scenario people speculate. I bet someone knows the answer. Remember, like most ships, the Dali had steer by wire. 😊
Well it's never happened so no one will know exactly.
Planes used steer by wire
LITERALLY ALL recent design commercial aircraft are fly by wire (ie: steer by wire).
@@FutureSystem738 Yes
Hi there.
I’ve watched all your videos and enjoy them. I must have missed it though. What is the % tint you went with if you don’t mind.
5%
And thank you!
Holy smokes. 5%. That is seriously dark. Thanks.
I spotted an insta360 accessory. Is that what you are using to film?
This video was filmed with my S24U. I use the insta360 as my roof camera in my FSD videos
@@DirtyTesla nice. I have both of those. Love my insta360 and S24U
What is your plan if you get an unrepairable flat tire on the road somewhere?
If you can't afford the possibility of off-road recovery, then you can't afford to go off-road.
Same as all my other cars, get a tow. Maybe I'll get a spare but i haven't needed a spare tire in almost 10 years so 🤷♂️
@@DirtyTeslaDitto- 20 years for me. I DO carry a compressor and tyre plugs. That will cover most problems.
Tesla Dictionary = Squircle, clicky buttons.........
It’s a solar car. When will Elon add panels directly? Pretty sure it’s why the windows are how they are with his vehicles.
I need a mouse for my computer. Please. Does anyone know how to make one work?
Hello mate
The mismatch of colour between body and doors is really annoying - if it were painted I'd think it was a really bad partial respray.
I think, you, are seeing the reflection of the grass it’s parked beside.
@@DianeVancouver
Nope, (though that was weird) I'm referring to a common feature of all cybertrucks - the doors just seem to reflect differently to the body, presumably a difference in the way the brush finish is applied.
Keep in mind this is pretty exaggerated in video/pictures. Also, if you clean it thoroughly they'll all look uniform after the fact. But yeah, if you want a Cybertruck and hate this mismatch, wrap would be needed.
@@DirtyTesla
For $100,000 it shouldn't have such a mismatch.
what's up !
no FSD 12.4? unsubscribed!
Did you see the video of that guy with all those issues like gear shifter on top fall down
No
@@DirtyTesla okay just wondering bc that dude got such bad luck
Early day 2 reservation here. I received the invite to order in March but decided to wait a year for Tesla to iron out the first year “bugs” before placing my order.
Is there any penalty for waiting? You got to keep your space in line and don't lose your FSD lock in price?
Smart choice😊
Not to mention that price will inevitably fall
I can't believe you'd own that stupid truck, its not even a real truck! It cant tow!!!!
they need to end the foundation series , it is too expensive.. i will pay 80k but not 120k lol
They should continue selling it as long as possible
Well, plenty of people are paying 100k+, so until that stops, foundation is in full effect.
@DirtyTesla I feel like they'll get rid of the $20k foundation add on wording and keep the $99,990 awd and the cyberbeast $119,990 prices. They told me I can order my cybertruck on my other email. I think there's no longer a huge backlog in California and Texas, because that $100 deposit was placed several months after reveal. On my email where I ordered the same minute the preorder link was revealed, I bought that cybertruck and got it early March.
The AWD 80k version is 100k foundation series.
The cyberbeast is 120k
Still it’s too expensive for me, but until reservation list ends i can’t imagine they’d end fojndation series
@@korvish111 I think they'll keep it as long as they can sell all they produce right away
😍😍
People are so f**** lazy! Not using something, because it doesn't do everything automatically for you ... crazy and dumb. 😑
I'm curious about the section of the owners manual that says driving off road or on uneven or unpaved surfaces voids your warranty. Doesn't this mean yours is already out of warranty?
"Driving over uneven, rough, damaged or hazardous surfaces, including but not limited to curbs, potholes, unfinished roads, debris, other obstacles or in competition racing or autocross or for any other purposes for which the vehicle is not designed."
Surely the road you live on is unfinished, uneven, rough, and has what Tesla could call "debris" on it. Yet the truck has "wade" and "baja" modes - indicating this would be normal operation. Sorry but this is spectacularly tone deaf and frankly - dishonest of Tesla.
It's just a catch all. If I bottom out and break something from that, Tesla isn't going to cover it. But they've already done warranty work 2 times on my truck (A pillar and little A pillar window replacement).
"For which the vehicle is not designed" the cybertruck is designed to go on unvealed roads.
Buy a truck that u can't haul or load. Why even buy a truck 😅😅
You can haul and load... Why not?
Ahh dang it, second comment
They won’t end the Foundation Series until their customers have finished beta testing it at their own expense and danger 😊
You need a lot more solar panels, to come out ahead, SunPower AC 400 watts. Believe me, I know, I have 19kw in solar now.
I have 14.4kW of solar
Do you have the power sharing capability with your house with your set up right now? I just ordered the universal charger for the cyber truck. I’m hoping it’s compatible with the original power walls & gateway.
No, software for people with Powerwalls isn't out yet
Like the stainless steel car from the late 1970s the Cyber????? Will be just a bad memory soon! Wake up now!👈🤣
Parking tip. Back your Cybertruck in on arrival! Less chance of backing into something when you depart.
Clown car for the 21st century
My reservation came up today but I’m not sure I want to pay $20k extra for it!
Cheers mate
