  • The combination of old ethanol fuel and being stored someplace where the temperature can fluctuate wildly can ruin the fuel system on chainsaws more than any other tool because they are used less often by homeowners and the fuel gets older than it might on a string trimmer or blower. I get these all the time where they have been stored outside or in a hot shed.

A Poulan saw was the main reason I bought a STIHL 261 and never batted an eye! Blessings, Willum!

@@GuysPlayingWithTools I was hunting a mid-sized saw for the smaller firewood logs and my pal at the saw shop asked me why not get a 26 or 261 because that's what the electric co-op used and you know how they run. I did and was NOT dissapointed! I had a 440 Magnum anyway but my pick was a Super 45 I got YEARS ago that the dealers son hopped up and very few could could touch his work even now. That lad was WAY before his time. That saw SCREAMED all it's life till a neighbor borrowed it. I had a policy to never lend my wife of my saw. I should've lent my wife, now my EX.

@@GuysPlayingWithTools I found that out the hard way but never lent anything else I didn't go with. Gave away my pressure washer and my peavey yesterday. Out of the business and with Toots getting the Kobalt battery pressure washer, all is well.

@@robertmailhos8159 You can't avoid Chinese carbs nowadays, getting a brand name carb (like Zama) doesn't mean it's not manufactured in China, most are. Even Stihl uses Chinese carbs now, I never thought I would see the day that happened.
Autolite makes Walbro branded plugs, I like Autolite plugs but I usually go with Champions because they never fail me.
