absolutely brilliant Jerry. Thank you for filming Capt Ian for us and a great memory video for him as well !!
There is no place like Anchorage for plane activity. As you can see by all the planes just around Lake Hood, there are a lot of pilots in Alaska.
Alaska is a pilots paradise! Well needed as you can't just hop into your car and drive a few miles out. That will get you near nowhere, so Floats and Big Wheels are the way to go.
You may have noticed the rudders on the floats, which allow the plane to maneuver on the water (on Ian's plane). Not all float planes have them.
Absolutely brilliant Jerry. Just love the beautiful scenery too. 💦👍
Excellent, I love floatplanes, the Beaver is my fave.
That PA12 Super towards the end is 75 years old. Ians plane is a Cessna 180 Skywagon and is 48 years old. Nice plane.
Love lake Hood, miss Alaska so much, it was where I spent the first two summers after I was widowed and learned to be alone
This was very enjoyable to watch, thank you. I hung around Lake Hood the summer after high school (2009). Love that place. Although, I’ve never heard someone so enthusiastic about seaplanes, know seemingly so little about float flying. Back of the… “sleds”!?? Never heard a pontoon called that before! Not being critical, I genuinely enjoyed all the enthusiasm! “Sleds” made me laugh though 😂 Thanks for all the Lake Hood content. Even pulled up LiveATC 👍🏻
When I was younger (before I failed medical) I use to right seat in a Beaver in northern Quebec. Sometimes we were so heavy we had to pull her off on float at a time.
oh wow love sea planes so cute✈️🥰
When Ian first turned back towards you and you thought he was taking off, he was doing his run up. It's a weird part of flying in a float plane to do a run up while moving. I like to do it while still tied up to the dock.
Was that a wing wave on and off the water 😃👌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Notice in Alaska how steep the roofs are? Snow!!!
I love wathcing your Alaska Streams while flying in Flight Simulator at the same location on my second stream! You should attend a STOL Demo at some point, crazy pilots out there!
😂😂😂 great stuff
fab what can you say about big jet tv and the sea planes i was luck seeing sea plane sunderlands takeing off and landing in milford haven when i was young 60yrs ago
So what's the most popular single engine floatplane from Cessna...? 180? 185? or the 208 caravan? remember thou the caravan costs like a million bucks with floats and needs jet fuel also.
Team replay 😁
Just what the hell makes them crazy?
what happens in the Winter when the water ices up?
Once the ice is thick enough it's used by skiplanes.
That's not a house. It's a shed.

Hey buddy have you got ADHD by any chance? Just wondering not trying to be rude and sorry if I came across that way?
Cut the British accent. Just planes only.
How about you cut the sound
