What I did with one of these ( not the sacs you drink out of) was put three medium sized cooler ice packs in the sack and filled it with water then froze everything at once. The water would melt quicker but The cooler ice packs stayed frozen longer than the water and kept everything comfortably cool for a consistent 5 hours. Highly recommend getting a few small/medium sizes that you can put in your bag.
Dude I work on a fuel barge fueling ship and buddy it gets hot I have to bring ice to put on my head all day and I mean it gets hot,hot you can cook a egg in about two minutes and wile you’re fueling a huge ship that errs no air flow this would help so much thank you for this video
have you tried adding some of the reusable medical grade ice packs to the pack? That may help to cool the water more and longer...
That's what I do. I live in south Georgia and use this building homes in the summer . I carry a cooler with frozen ice packs , and once my bladder has melted, I will put a frozen Ice pack in the bladder.
On a bike you need FUJITSU COMODO GEAR tech as you have electricity but this design can be alternative to hvac.
Better fluids than water work Longer per lbs. They are called pcm's ( phase change materials)
Id like to see you review the feher ac helmet
I’d like to see a review comparison between the comp cooler backpack vs universe.
I see you 👀 brother good stuff
I’m thinking about buying one. I feel like if you have a perforated jacket with the air coming in it and having the best it should get cooler too right ? I’m in Las Vegas and man it gets so hot here as well
Have you ever used this with a full set of gear? I tend to always wear a full set of gear when riding and was wondering if I should get this type or a full body type so not just a vest. I am curious to hear what you think
i looked on amazon, and they have a backpack version where you can store the bladder and also laptop and stuff
Any chance of sharing the link?
Can you add a link of where you bought it from?
Thank you for the honest review. I live in Scottsdale and with temps in the low 110's it is very difficult to ride after 2 pm. I am considering this exact unit but the ones I have seen online have green vests with green water bladders. I like that yours is black with a blue bladder. I found the manufacturer overseas and they do sell online direct to consumer. May I ask where did you buy yours from? Thanks in advance, PAUL
Did you windup buying it? I'm I'm Vegas and need something to cool me while riding
@@philh1826 I have owned 1 since 2017 . It has been one of the best investments I have ever made for myself. I carry a small cooler with frozen ice packs in it , so when the ice in the bladder has melted , I just put a frozen Ice pack in the melted water bladder. I can go all day in 100+ heat , here in south Georgia.
@@philh1826 make sure to get an extra battery , just in case you need more that 8 hours of power. The 1 battery last a loooong time
@@bearschmidt3180 thanks man. I will definitely try it out. It's hell out right now. I have saddlebags so thinking about getting the less portable one
@@philh1826 you are welcome. It really does work.
Would this work in a aluminum plant . These guy a running from the heat it's burning their brains up .
well your doing it wrong for any relief, they say the vest should not be exposed to the elements, if your just wearing a t-shirt then wear it against your skin
Not to mention that's not the only option or most efficient for cooling either. Per the operation manual, mode b leverages the gray connectors for circulation vice blue and is over 20⁰F cooler. This is because the circulated water is the directly melted ice/water instead of the separate water in the small front pouch relying solely on thermal transfer. You theoretically lose the hydration option, but if you only care about cold temps, mode b is the way to go. Sure, it'll reduce the cold duration by about 33%, but you're going to have to get fuel regardless, and every gas station has ice. The only reason I'd consider the shown method is if you're off road.
How long before the icepack thaws and offers no more cooling?
