Dennis, I am really glad we are done haying for this year. I am watching you bale, there is too much smoke outside here in Oregon to be out there anyway. We were evacuated from our place the last two days, but are back home today. Will be starting the irrigation pump to supply the drip system in the filbert orchards later today and maybe some shop projects and I have no interest getting out into all of that smoke. Good luck beating the weather! Nick, North West Farmer
That is an awesome machine to accumulate it all together glad u got the new one working prefect and showing us from the back. Well worth the money here. Enjoyed watching as always. Thanks 🙏👍
Thank you for the awesome video. After watching the end where you videoed you’re dad running the baler and it showed the gate not shutting all the way on the accumulator, I know now when I took mine out for the first time why I had some single bales out in the field the other day. I guess my gate didn’t shut back a couple of times. Other than that and getting my bales the right length it has worked perfect for me. I’m loving it.
You all probably dont give a damn but does anybody know of a way to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot my account password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me!
@Memphis Alvaro i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Dennis great job again..With all that help from Dad and Dorcey that hay don't have a chance to soak up more rain.. God bless you and the Family Dennis.....
Thats the trouble I have with my khun 1034, they won't slide enough to trip the gates properly, i have had it 5 years, but only use it once a year on straw, and I have never been able to get it to work. Always had a guy riding the accumulator which sucks, but watching your videos, and how your explaining things keeps me wanting to figure this thing out. No one else is really putting a video out explaining how to get these accumulators working properly, you would think khun would put some out there to help people, keep putting out the videos im watching 👀
Use slip plate it will fix it, it’s a graphite lube order it on amazon or get it from tractor suppIy. I put it on the stainless steel part of mine it makes a big difference. Also good tight bales.
Great video work man. Good luck 🍀 with that accumulator. I do roadside highway mowing with an old McCormick and people don’t realize how steep hills are until your ass is in the seat using the machine lol!!! They were times I’m not gonna lie I put on the lap belt cause I thought I might roll!!!!
I believe your going to really like the new accumulater. I had to break down and buy a new 4×5 roller. My old one took a crap on me. Good luck with the rest of your hay season
I was wondering when you were gonna buy a new one. I bought mine this spring same model AF10. Still having some issues glad to see that yours worked good from the beginning. Keep up the great videos!
Seems like it's still not broke in. Bales dont wanna slide down they hang up and the turn arms turn the bale just enough the next bale wont push it on down and tr he rear trip linkage is not contacting the pin right. But I'm slowing downright now for a bit. I'm gonna doing some adjustments and see if that doesn't help things
Get a product called “slip plate” and spray the stainless steel part of the deck with it. Should solve your problem. It’s a graphite lube. You can order it on amazon. Will take about 3 cans of it.
Looks like it's working great. Nothing like breaking in equipment. It's so small it looks like it's a long way from the baler from the tractor view lol. Glad it's working out!
I knew a major hay grower in CA many years ago now, but in the 60s through 80s his entire hay fields crew was various Mexican National (legal alien) contractors. They were mostly men with several women who managed the camp dwellings and kitchen, they were all a great bunch to work around. Most spoke English, and a few were children of the legal migrant labor force from the 50s-60s who could barely speak Spanish. We're talking 8,900 acres all told, and these 25 or so professional campesino's used my friends equipment to tend 2 or 3 types of hay, mostly for feed lots and horse tracks. I don't remember the numbers but I have seen 30 or 40 double trailers being pulled out of there per day all tarped tight like giant billboards with the company logo sewn into the tarps. I worked a little hay 45 acres in high school, I like what you do more than that big business sort of thing.
I had all the confidence in the world that you would get it wright I like the accumulator better because it is more compact and it was doing a fine job good video I am glad I watched keep it in the wind rows and off the bank lol and take care of the young help
I was out the first time with my, new to me, rotor rake. It does make a lovely swath but at 22 ft at its smallest, she's a bit wide for first cut lol. I'd agree with storing it inside, I bought mine cheap as I think one of the main bearings had sized up. As the last owner used it, the crown wheel stripped the teeth of the input shaft
Dennis I would most likely put some graphite or silicone spray on the stainless and also on the side corners so it might help speed up the brake in stage, other wise it seems to be doing well for a new machine
DLH Farms , ok that’s good, you know it better than me, it sounds like it’s starting to settle now a little more use and it come right, thanks for showing it working, stay safe Dennis and hi to your family
I have the same issue with the tail gate not closing all the time I’m thinking about welding a weight in the center of it to help it get more momentum it’ll also do it if your in super thick hay running real slow an it doesn’t fall off the bales it dumps quick enough.
Call kuhns they sent me weights that bolt on the SMV sign that are shaped like the SMV i put 2 5 pound weights on. Bet they would send them to you under warranty.
DLH Farms 👍🏻 definitely will I didn’t know they had those thanks for the tip. they’ve been great about getting me updated parts when I’ve called in the past. Probably the best company I’ve ever dealt with in support
We noticed with our kuhns that you really can't do high moisture hay because nothing slides like it should and bales just get to heavy going up the shoot. In 10-12% hay they work almost flawlessly.
Thanks for the video! Do you have a moisture sensor built in to the baler? How do you know the moisture content you say in the video? When you talk about spraying, what are you spraying, proprionic acid or something? Wouldn't the hay need to be dryer to start out with to spray it, so it doesn't catch fire in the barn? I guess I've been away a long time! I hope you won't mind explaining a little. I appreciate it! Thanks again!
Yes i have a moisture monitor testing the bales in real time. Yes I’m spraying crop saver which is proprionic acid it works of hay up to 30 percent moisture if the correct amount is applied. The hay I baled that day was as high as 24 percent and the hay turned out excellent.
@@DLHFarms thanks for taking the time to explain! Really good information. I'm going to look through your previous videos for parts that show the moisture tester! Thanks again! I really enjoy your videos!
Maybe that's why you had 3 laying out on their own-- door didn't close on an incline perhaps?? Since it's not spring loaded you might have to add a cantilever counterweight sticking out behind/above the door on a piece of steel so that when the door trips and the bales push it open to slide out, when the bales are gone the weight gives her a little extra "push" down and forward to latch good on inclines... might be just the ticket if she keeps doing it... either that or a spring to help pull the door back forward with a little extra oomph... Later and good luck it's a nice lookin' rig!! OL J R :)
@@DLHFarms Yep that's what I'd do... Let gravity work for you... That's what the Soviets did to swing the gantries back on their R-7 rocket (Soyuz rocket today) when it took off... It was held up by the four gantry "petals" till thrust built up enough to lift off... Soon as it started up weight of the rocket was off the gantry "petals" their counterweights pulled to back away from the rocket to get out of the way while it took off... Impressive performance in less than ideal conditions. What sort of cost is the preservative application equipment please and is this that monitors the hay moisture content or some other mechanism?
Another great video Dennis plenty going on .At what moisture level even with additive would you have to stop baling Dennis ? Has the additive always worked well?
Right at the end of the video is your answer to the three rogue bales you found in the other field, to steep of a hill to shut the gate and latch it....otherwise looking good.
How do you guys charge for your labour when you do contract work, here in the UK its usually either by the acre or per hour, so you will find it anything up to £100 per acre or £50 per hour
I keep kicking around the idea of one of these accumulators to speed things up around here ... just keep finding things crawling up the 'need' list faster than I can catch up for the 'want' list to get anything checked off of it.
I wonder if they could put some kinda hydraulic suspension that would tilt it, keep it more level. Put some dually wheels and a sensor and some small hydraulic cylinders on it to tilt it a little.
@@DLHFarmslol, I couldn't afford it now. if they did redesign it, you couldn't afford not to have it! Haha. I think a few hydraulics and levers shouldn't cost to much more.

You come on and help me and we’ll do it the old way. It’s not me that’s lazy buddy I’m still doing it, I did 2000 bales last weekend by myself, because there is no help out there nobody wants to buck bales anymore. There is no way I could have got all that hay up by myself without this equipment.
He’s not lazy. Just like myself can’t find anyone that wants to work. I used to get high school boys to throw on the wagon and I stacked. When I needed a break we stopped. So I didn’t work them that hard. Also, paid them $20/hr, which I thought was good. Haven’t hired anyone in 3 years. Just my son an myself putting up around 4000 bales/year.
But it works just as good, it’s easier to pull, easier to maneuver, easier on the baler, easier to get busted bales out of, it easier to clean out at the end of the day, has less moving parts to break, has less springs to break or shake loose, it doesn’t drag hay on the tailgate going down hill, it has flashing lights to help move down the road safer. If it’s engineers correctly it doesn’t have to be heavier to hold up and the company will stand behind it if it doesn’t.
@@DLHFarms Well if it works and you're happy, I guess that's fine. I just don't like everything being made cheaply. I'm not so sure about the longevity but hopefully you'll have no issues. Atleast the maneuverability is better since it's a bit shorter.

@@DLHFarms yeah i used to sell 5X5 bails for 20 dollars a bail and you would have thought i was pulling their teeth.
Yep it’s a lot of work for little pay.
Looks like you have some help
Yep
Your brother in law brought them to you for the hose repair
Haha yeah
Добрый день вы откуда
U have any crawler loaders for sale or your daddy
Sorry not right now
What a piece of junk. Everything has been made 10 times cheaper compared to the old one.
Well, for "a piece of junk" it seems to be working pretty good.
430 You running late.
Yep
Its flat brother. Just kidden.
Haha
