I like that the manufacturers are bringing more entry level products to market. Its a critical move for the future of moto's as less young people are riding than in the past. To address this trend they need the price point and ease of use to be on the lower end of the spectrum. I think the ADV 150 is a move in the right direction.
Unless you're rich anything you own will be easy to drive does that mean you won't crash it. Probably not because eventually you under value it or your completely comfortable in your element. Both dangerous places to be.

*I think the main rationale behind the 'rear-drum' has more to do w/the potential loss of 'no front-brake' from 'loss of fluid' than anything else* *You'll still have stopping power with or without the front-brake and in many parts of the World it's difficult to find a repair place or even access to brake-fluid*

Hard to judge your riding skills and ability to being reasonable on maneuvering of this scooter. It is a scooter and not meant to be ridden in the standing position on floor boards. In Thailand there is no parking hand brake lock on the ADV-150 or the PCX-160. I think they are imported. The PCX-160 seat is 1” lower and better for commuting on bitumen roads, that caused my Thai lady to choose the PCX-160. My old PCX-150 would wind up to 70 MPH. New one not run in. Both Bikes new, around USD $3,700 with extras on the road, drive away. The ADV-150 is smoother on the throttle, I think it is higher geared. Both our new bikes came with extras including metal foot plates which really give great foot grip. The worst aspect of scooters is the lack of foot pegs to stand on for balance and handling on rough ground. The second is wheels too small and hard short travel suspension. This is the great improvement of the ADV-150. Superior suspension for rough road handling. The fully automatic CVT transmission makes riding so easy. I was told the left hand is the dual brake and the right hand is the rear only brake. The lack of ABS on the back allows for handling options on dirt tracks, but I am not an advanced off road rider. I will have to test this. I cannot read my handbook, it is in Thai, ไทย 🇹🇭. No English handbook available.

One thing that I might add for this scooter is that this is a design from the Honda Thailand. The only time I wrecked a bike in 30 years of riding was during a slow speed turn, maybe 10 mph, at an intersection on tar and chipped roads. You tend to get a small triangular shape patch of loose gravel in the middle of the intersection. I hit that and BAM down I went! I completely understand what happened here.
A scooter rider has to watch for mown grass, leaves, gravel. At lower speeds be careful not to lock up front brakes as a smaller wheel will have less grip.🤔
Hey! Here in Asia, I see a lot of people have this scoot and it comes with a disk rear breaking system. That's my dream scooter but I don't like it with drum break.
They both had the 149. Then they updated the pcx with the 156, now the new adv 160 (not 150) has the same engine as the pcx again. There was only one year where they had different engines.
Very different machines. Grom is more engaging, more fun and has better aftermarket support. ADV is definitely more practical as a commuter.. Mini-motos scare me a little on the highway so if I had to pick one for highway it would be the ADV150. If you're doing lots of hwy miles you're going to want more power though-Alex

The whole engine goes up and down every time you hit a bump, the engine and complete rear wheel is suspended only on two aluminum pivot points and the two rear shocks. If you jump it too hard don’t be surprised one day that your whole engine and rear wheel separate from the scooter and your sliding down the trail on your face.

Check out my install and impressions of the OEM Rear Rack and Top Box for the ADV150. ruclips.net/video/jgc91a18Q5Q/видео.html
Need a new intro for TFLB. Remember, a bike is most stable when laying on its side
@2:57 is that Honda cub trail that you gonna test next????
Was there an oil slick? How'd you go down?
Ran though some water then hit some gravel, and had the front brake half applied. Bad combo
@@TFLbike is it because camera angle or the steering bar didn't align correctly because of earlier crash?
The only time I wrecked a bike in 30 years of riding was during a slow speed turn, maybe 10 mph, at an intersection on tar and chipped roads. You tend to get a small triangular shape patch of loose gravel in the middle of the intersection. I hit that and BAM down I went! I completely understand what happened here.
A scooter rider has to watch for mown grass, leaves, gravel. At lower speeds be careful not to lock up front brakes as a smaller wheel will have less grip.🤔
Best video I’ve seen on it.😁👍
the reason is there are plenty of USB adapters for lighter sockets but not vice-versa.
“A lot of times I forgot how easy it is to ride a scooter” 😂
WTF? How easy it is to ride? You crashed it!
hows the grip on concrete with those tires? is it safe to lean the bike with those dual sport?
it's safe, you don't wanna lean too much of course
Very good review thank you 😊👍🍺🍺
Hey! Here in Asia, I see a lot of people have this scoot and it comes with a disk rear breaking system. That's my dream scooter but I don't like it with drum break.
Can you show us how to change the oil on that scooter?
He did. Easiest way is to lay it on its side.
According to Honda’s website, the PCX has a 156cc engine and the ABB has a 149cc engine
They both had the 149. Then they updated the pcx with the 156, now the new adv 160 (not 150) has the same engine as the pcx again. There was only one year where they had different engines.
Great vid Alex👍ADV150 or Grom for open road like highway use?
Very different machines. Grom is more engaging, more fun and has better aftermarket support. ADV is definitely more practical as a commuter.. Mini-motos scare me a little on the highway so if I had to pick one for highway it would be the ADV150. If you're doing lots of hwy miles you're going to want more power though-Alex

Despite all the Hype, ITS A SCOOTER, Not a Dirt Bike, Not an Adventure Bike. I would not want to get off the paved road on any scooter, because You can not shift or engine brake. I am 66 years old and I was thinking maybe Its time for a scooter , But after riding real motorcycles all my life its easy to see through all of the hype. Scooters are very good for Commuting but they should not be taken off road. Honda is marketing the ADV as an Adventure Bike, It Is Not
consider a Suzuki Burgman 400 if you are still considering a scooter. Amazing machine there
I’m considering Adv 160 it’s out at Asia already in early 2023
Its ground clearance is less lower than the adv 150, so don't expect you get same experience in off road rides
@@leonmendiola7879 150 wasn't built for off road , someone tried that and damaged the bottom of the engine , thanks for the info, i decided to go with the 350
It’s so easy to ride but you wrecked it because you didn’t give it the respect it deserves!
The ADV was based off from its bigger brother, the X-ADV 750cc
the only thing I don't like is the front turning lights, they would have been better integrated into the front optics
great review, thanks
I ride my ADV daily. I have taken it on 160+ mile trips, it is a great bike. I highly recommend if you are looking for a scooter. While the PCX is great, my wife has the 2020 version and she loves it, I had to chose the ADV. It is not perfect by any means, but a great bike none the less.
Dude I had those same New Balance shoes! Worst shoes I’ve ever worn in my life! The scooter is pretty sweet tho.
We got rear disc brake here in indonesia, with a way more cheaper prize from you guys.
I 'm agreed, you can search after market custem for these in Thailand & Indonesia...
You'll will amezed....
And yes its better than PCX
d00d. I'm your grandpa's age. The PCX 150 is hideous. I wish Honda would re-introduce the Ruckus 250, with better ergos
Oh...and as for the design, the 2020 PCX 150 is far more attractive than any previous model!
I want one. It looks fun. I wish there were other color options and larger tires
what was the problem before why did you fall?
I would like to see this compared to the Trail 125.
yes, please!!
Ditto!
Low speed drop on flat pavement breaks the turn light and cracks plastic? Shouldn't an ADV bike be built to take much worse hits?
But isn’t the 2021 PcX 160 faster ?
Was just gonna add to this by saying that fir men like me that are 64 years old it would be great , I have a kymco 150 super 8 and it handles easy
I'm digging that watch. What is that?
Maybe. But I would go right for the Honda Trail 125,(CT125), simple reliable, and anybody can ride, that might come over.
Apples to oranges. Not for the same thing at all.
