And yet... we've all seen this movie. The book Confessions Of An Economic Hit Man walks through how the US manipulates and interferes with foreign governments. See you in class!
This is the most convoluted explanation I’ve ever heard about Haiti’s precarious contemporary and historical predicament! Until you have boots on the ground you’ll never fathom how dysfunctional this failed state has become. You have no idea! None!…..what a waste of time🤦🏾♂️
There are so many that don’t know about this situation. I thank you guys for -once again- keeping us abreast and leading those in the dark to the light. Y’all are absolutely AWESOME. I truly thank God for y’all.

Karen, I loved the question Dr. Carr asked of you. "How do you feel?" Very deep question with a heartfelt response. We are all inherently connected to the people of Haiti. The driving force and audacious spirit to say we will be free. Setting the tone for rebellion and being astute to accomplishing their freedom. I have the blood running through my veins and when I tell you nothing but pride beams just as the pain of my country's current condition. Great conversation
As soon as I heard the news I started stalking y’all twitters because I was like I need answers and to make sense of this…but of course y’all did me one better and broke this down Knarrative style ❤️🙌🏾
Thank you for the awesome session! This brought back a lot I'd forgotten about the history of Haiti and filled in the gaps on what we needed to know to understand what we are seeing.
Much love to Haiti from us Brazilians (although the votes followed the American tendency in selecting a wannabe dictators) can’t wait for it to change, people from haiti and cuba have been made to pay for things they have no control over. One thing we all have in common is where our local corrupt politicians learned their lessons from. That’s a very open secret. Can’t wait for the younger more progressive generation take over politics in America, if we all pull together we can stop the colonialism still happening in time. Every time a coup happens, specially when it’s sponsored by outside powers, sets the country back at least 20 years. These inferences needs to stop, this is why black lives matters, they’re the ones that will bring balance to this world we live in.
Sister Karen thanks for this broadcast. I also wrestled with this current situation in Haiti 🇭🇹. And the assassination of the President.... I to wondered who benefits from this?
“We” depends on context while trying to ward off colonizer attacks, oppression and suppression. Now fast forward to now, we are still struggling to bond together into a “collective we”. A beautiful point by the culturally insightful Dr. Greg Carr.
Dr Greg Carr thank you so much for highlighting this fact as well. The ambassador to Haiti kept skating around Roland Martins question who is running the government now and who is installing it. Its one of them shows I wish he had showed up on a Thursday with yall there.
My question for MY people is : "Do we unite behind this ? By "this" I mean supporting our brothers and sisters in Haiti. And, if so, what can we do? What consolidated efforts can we make and what pressure can we apply on the U.S. government with our economic and voting power. I am here for ALL of that .
The first thing is stop giving your vote to Democrats without unconditionally. When it comes to the Caribbean and Latin America the leadership of both parties have exactly the same policies. They all Backed all those right wing puppets who have taken turn running Haiti. Young black people get it. Older black people are hopeless. I'm afraid we just have to wait for enough of them to die for the new generation to takeover
As a Haitian from Haiti, prof Carr made some good point but there let’s not forget the class issue that the US takes advantage off as well. The white Haitians in Haiti are the ones aiding the US because they also profit from this.
Some of us “white” people do not believe in race. It is a social construct, and thus a state of mind. I deconstructed my racial thinking years ago. The sad truth is that “blacks” can be just as prejudicial towards “whites” as the reverse. Now class is a different matter…
