Skeleton transformer is fine, the idea of grinding everything into basic skeletons is very Halloween fitting
There is something soothing about listening to your reasoning behind everything you do. I love playing Homm myself, but I really appreciate the way you play and talk. Good job!
I would have started with Isra personally. You will run into more attack and defense, plus you start with magic arrow instead of curse and run into tactics more often. Haste and slow are your best spells from the start, blind is great of you have animate undead. I also go straight for knowledge when im below 5 then anything works. I once started with 9 peasent gens made the game too easy. Anyhow cool vid.😎👍

there is something truly magical about this game. Im watching a guy do the same fights for an hour and still dont get bored
Playing on max difficulty is much harder than he makes it look like
From watching some streams and whatnot, I think what high level players do while fighting fast squishy neutrals like hobgoblins or sprites is, they split their power stack in half. This allows them to attack twice per turn, and the power of the halves is usually still enough to kill one enemy stack with every attack. Might be worth considering for the future! And yay, I'm super glad to see another h3 series!

Another use for gold is to buy all the core buildings in your towns to up the arrow tower damage.

I can't wait for more episodes. This looks fantastic. I watched the video literally three times.
I say you should allow yourself to use Earth Elementals and there are two reasons.
1. It's a spell unit, like come on, you are allowed to use spells!
2. Where do skeletons come from? Graves. And where are graves located? In the dirt. Dirt is earth. Conclusion, earth elementals have a high likelihood of containing skeletons. Due to your dirt coming from a Necropolis town, we can assume said likelihood is 100%.
Nah, not really. They're not skeletons. Hence no. It's the same thing with Wights, Zombies, Liches and Death Knights, there are skeletons inside them, but they're not skeleton the unit, so no. I mean almost all units in the game would have skeletons so should he be allowed to use pikemen because there's a 100% chance of containing skeletons...
Two series of HOMM3 going on at the same time? Best Halloween present ever! This run in particular looks tougher than usual but surely it keeps things interesting. Wish you and your army of skeletons the best of luck!

is it worth going for the skeleton transformer just to unlock access to the unearthed graves? That would give a bunch of extra skeleton production each week.

Not to mention you can make skeletons from everything. So if you have a bunch of unused units, say a bunch of hobbits that joined you, those are extra skeletons. This is how skeleton armies numbered in the thousands are made. Had a friend who hated bone dragons. He just bought them and sacrificed them to make skeletons out of. I say that was petty. But I get where he was coming from.

Very good, i may revisit this game. The starting of the map is the most fun imho. There is a point where it rapidly goes one way or another, you become unbeatable (boring on huge maps) or you get outclassed and realise it is the end.
So I'd like your thoughts on two things I noticed in this video.
1) Is your movement economy more important then strengthening your main hero with the strong spells you picked up like slow? Or mainly what was the thought behind not really picking up scrolls with the main hero/ relaying the spells back to them with your other heroes.
2) Why not get the skeleton transformer early and then keep the other units you get from buying heroes in the castle to turn them into use able skeletons? Was that just to make the challenge harder or is this more a necromance skill challenge then a skeleton challenge?
Ya, I am also wondering about not strengthening your main hero but I'm just 47 min at this point. I think he didn't get the transformer to be as pure to the skeleton challenge as possible.

I was surprised that you don't take XP from treasure chests early-game to get those levels you were interested in.
always gold early to get economy going
gold is so scarce, I went from always taking XP to always taking gold :D
@@prawtism feel like it varies a lot more in homm3, like in 5 there is practically no scenario where you would ever take exp, but in 3 you might sometime take a single chest
my rule in the early game was always to convert chests with exactly 1500 gold to 1000 xp. keep the gold from 500 and 2000 gold chests. never served me wrong in over 20 years of playing that game.

Loving the idea, it's crazy to believe this is possible on the hardest difficulty.
This is really interesting to watch. I've never really sat down and watched anyone play these games, before - much less someone who clearly knows what they're doing! I learned quite a bit in tactics from just this first part. Definitely gonna enjoy this.
Also? I chuckled when the game gave you Destroy Undead. That is the exact _opposite_ of what's needed, here! Hopefully, you do find Raise Dead, though!

Cover of Darkness do not work on the AI, but it'll increase your towers' damage, so there's that.
Exactly. Every building constructed in the town, except for the creatures dwellings ones, will increase the tower's damage.

I would certainly allow skeleton transformer, as it fits the theme and would help a bit keeping up with the opposition. And if you think about it, bone dragons are skeletons as well... :)
32:17: That was a mistake. If you had chosen to be weak rather than strong, then the lizards would split up into more groups and your death ripple would be much stronger. It feels weird and scary to intentionally make yourself weak, but it is the right way to go.

Is there a difference between Vidomina and Isra? Genius idea for a halloween special btw.
Vidomina is Necromancer class and Isra is Death Knight. Necromancers are more likely to get magic skills and knowledge/spell power, which I think is slightly better here

I know this has been 1 year but I think you might have made a mistake about not going for the skeleton transformer. You can even transform your own undead units to skeletons.

hello! a question: do you know a tbs game like heroes of might and magic, but with hexgrit battles and a strong focus on partymanagement?
in other words: do you know a game like battlebrothers where you can play as a race of age of wonders and use the aow magicsystem?
I think gold could be used for buying extra heroes from tavern just for their units. Sometimes they have very good amount of them and you can turn them into skeletons. If you have 18 000 gold there is no problem in buying them and turn their units to skeletons.

I really hope you are gonna get through this :) Unearthed graves and dedicated hero at external dweling will add some extra skeletons... And, i hope its not too late for this but, you should REALLY let Vidomina harvest as much as posible skeletons...cause she is actually best resource of skeletons..and level up Gala with chests and stuff...maybe send him to front lines instead. After he is ready, ofc
stacking them all into one main stack with a bunch of 1s has actually hurt ur survival rate...12 sprites can be one shot by like 30 skeles...

non living challenge - you are with nacropilis, vs 7 towers in 1 team, you are allowed to use only non living creatures if you get a tower castle, you are not allowed to buy / join living (farmers for example) and make them skeletons
@Norovo could you explain please when it's better to use stone skin and when to use shield? From what I've read I got an impression with creature fights shield would always give better damage reduction..

Not sure if i miss something, but at around 1:00:21 you talk about the town being defended, but it shows no creatures, wen you click it? is there still some defense there? i thought you could just go and get it
You need to own at least one tavern to know what defenders are there. I knew there were defenders from the cursor showing a sword instead of a horse

I hope skipping water with Vidomina and tacticks with Galthran will not backfire. Both would really usefull against ranged and water also good for sieges
Remember to collect the skele dwelling every week, it's not like in hota where it accumulates. You missed a week.
Why take gold? You need XP from the chests badly. You can't buy an army anyway.

I tried the campaign, and the intro mission on the easiest difficulty completely assblasted me.. it's like the enemy is on 2x speed compared to me, I just don't get it.
