Seth, always after winning the first game/match in any video: Is this card busted? Is this card the real deal? Seth, the very next match in any video: *fail the aggro test*
I actually think intrude is one of the few cards where a 5/0 split is actually reasonable since a 5/5 blocks incredibly well, and provides an ample clock, and if they don't want to give you the 5/5 you get 5 cards
Plus in this deck you may be totally fine just throwing 4 spells in the yard anyway. Especially in BO1 you'd really have no way to know if they actually wanted to mill them until it's too late.
The problem with the 5/0 split really lies in the immediate removal spell, where 3/2 at least has you draw two cards. If they're tapped out, though, a 5/5 flash flying at least gets to swing once.
My friends and I agree, they should have just made a separate symbol for prerelease cards like Voja. Just made it more confusing for the kids that were playing.
@@matthewjecelin8358 doubt it's this, I think it's a way to draw in commander players to draft considering they are powerful cards with popular commander themes. Wizards has long been used to printing rare bombs in limited. The 6 mana 6/6 dragon that wraths your opponents board is stronger than anything but maybe voja? And Voja requires you to run elves to be busted which there aren't very many of in the set

I think going more into black for some more removal and Breach the Multiverse would be cool. Breach mills a bunch of spells and reanimates Melek, and it costs only 5 if Melek happens to be out which is pretty awesome
@@midn8588 the oppo The one who saw the 2 flings in hand The reason for arenas eye symbol "i dont like discarding the fling, cause he will know that we have it"
Why wasn't this deck playing Pyrrhic Blast? It's another fling, actually counts toward your instant/sorcery count, and costs the same to cast with Melek out. Plus it draws a card.
Flame-blessed Bolts in the board should just be Torch the Towers. Exact same effect at baseline, but we can also occasionally sacrifice a random token our other spells make to get an extra damage and a scry.
Its nice in theory but not in practice. You will have to counter the opponents kill spell first. Using up the cost reduction for the turn, causing the one hit combo to fizzle out ... Personally....think its FINALLY time for mishras command to see play. Haste enabler, removal and hand smoother all in one. Does everything this deck wants. Already ran a decent haughty djin deck with this card was just missing Ill timed explosion
@luisgutierrez8047 why would you need to counter the kill spell? if Opponent tries to kill it, you use the Pyrrhic in response, assuming you gave up priority at all. The fact that the sacrifice is part of the cost and that it's an instant is what wins the game. The reason Sell-sword feels bad is someone can kill in response. There is no responding to casting cost requirements, meaning you don't need to hold up counter magic. Mishra's Command is also sorcery speed so even using it you run into the kill spell blow out when using the haste mode.
@ScornfulEg0tist The 4 mana fling spell that is being reduced to 1 mana by the creature you are sacrificing the same amount of mana you need to cast Burn Together.
Did no one else see the mystery sheet in the prerelease? Thats why the cards like voja and melek are in there. For the code sheet so you can have a bit of fun deciphering the code.

People don't realize how impactful and innovative Pet Sounds was. It directly inspired some of the Beatles' best work. From Wikipedia: "Pet Sounds revolutionized music production and the role of professional record producers, especially through Wilson's pioneering studio-as-instrument praxis. The record contributed to the cultural legitimization of popular music, a greater public appreciation for albums, the popularity of synthesizers, and the development of psychedelic music and progressive/art rock. It also introduced novel approaches to orchestration, chord voicings, and structural harmonies; for example, most of the compositions feature a weak tonal center, rendering their key signatures ambiguous. Although it had been widely revered by industry insiders, the album was obscure to mass audiences before being reissued in the 1990s, after which it topped several critics' and musicians' polls for the best album of all time, including those published by NME, Mojo, Uncut, and The Times. @@midn8588exactly my thought. Less commital, but easier to disrupt, so at best its a sidegrade, at worst, since it is more likely to whiff, it is arguably worse.

I feel like even tho Pyrrhic Blast is 4 mana, Callous Sell-Swords only targets are Melek, a thopter, or a devil token and the only time it's not 1 mana on melek is if it's not the first spell that turn but it's instant speed so you could cast it on your opponents turn too and it draws a card and gets around removal. The only downside is if you draw it mid turn from a different draw spell and your opponent counters it on there turn after passing.
