I live in California and I own them both. Temperature today was 99 degrees and I wore Carlisle. Nonstop compliments. 3 sprays. Trust me, temperature doesn't matter. Dont do more than 3 maybe 4 sorays though.
*Nice comparison,Demi!* Many PdMs have to my nose unpleasant synthetic tones during scent development. Carlisle was the 1st one for me of interest, great gourmand for winter season.
Layton is fantastic. Excited about the new Sedley. I've heard great things about it.
Oh yeahhhhh been waiting for this one. I'm obsessed with Carlisle.
Next things I'm buying are Herod, Carlisle, and Haltane. I'm a hetrosexual woman, and I just love the 'masculine' line from PdM. So much more than the feminine one.
Where I live is high humidity, I just tired samples of both a lean Layton. I hear the new Sedley fragrance is super fresh though! Going to grab Layton this week, sample Sedley next month, if I like will pick up. Carlisle will be probably be my early fall pick up.
Just purchased Layton because of your love for it. Definitely appreciate the females point of view. Even though I have to smell it all day, great to know what girls think of it. I feel like what you wear for a fragrance is important when you’re on dates or meeting people. Thanks Demi.

Carlise is my fave of the two. It may be cool if you do a little running competition and see which fragrance can make it to the number one in pairing contests like these. It sometimes is easier to compare just two fragrances vs 5 or 10 unless you have a very good nose. Would make for some fun YT and IG threads. BTW - I am a huge fan of the way you say "here". Makes me smile. :)
Want to say thanks for getting me on that Layton now I'm going to try Carlisle. I really do wish you do a review on the Parfums de Marley house especially since they have a new scent called Sedley coming out for Summer and also a fall fragrance coming out in the Fall.

Okay so as a fragrance collector myself, i get a really good idea about the fragrance that you discuss, if i want to go ahead and purchase it or not.
Like i can really pin point and paint the fragrance in my head how it would smell and the character of it without even smelling it, thats pure knowledge and skills on your part, good job.

I have a couple of suggestions, I've been reading about Code A-List by Giorgio Armani and Viking by Creed. Not sure how these two will fare among the best established scents, but might be worth covering.
Whats the longevity like on these fragrances? I got samples of layton and percival on your reccomendation but they were only a ml so i couldn't really tell, both smell amazing though.

Yeah I blind bought the 4.2 and I fucking love this scent! Money well spent in my opinion.
Wich Batch? I bought 125ml of the Batch 939805 and it disappears in 2-3 hours. In the parfumo community people complain that since Batch 8xxxxx the performance dropped pretty bad.

The first thing I thought when opening Layton was "is this legal?" It's the movie "Basic Instinct" in fragrance form. Truly staggering.

Love Layton as it develops on my skin,the dry down, the projection and the longevity it’s amazing. I highly recommend layton. At least for me it’s better because I live in a hot weather.

Akaster is a typical rose dominated fragrance. A boozy rose. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm currently rocking the EDT (havent tried the EDP yet) and i'm getting alot of compliments :-)
The 'Y' EDP is damn near an entirely new and different scent that smells a lot better in my opinion as well as many others.

The skin changes the fragrance though. I’ve smelled a Carlisle tester on my skin and it was ok, but Layton SOARS! It’s my go to signature scent at this point. I never thought something would beat Aventus, but Layton did it immediately.

i just picked up royal equestrian by alexandria because i cant afford layton.... its not a bad clone and i havent smelled layton so i cant really say anything else except it’s an amazig smell and i havnt got a compliment yet but ill test it out more 👌🏽

For me Carlisle is very heavy on pathouli. I get creamie patchouli and a bit of apple. Anyone expieriencing the same? The bottle I bought has a 7er batch code. I have a sample, which smells quite a bit sweeter.

Now Ive found a store in holland that sell vintage bottles but the man doesnt know from which year they are. How can I distiguise the years or bottles. As they are both with the golden cap. I do like both. But I can't help but feel they are both a little feminine. Great smells. But quite sweet and too unisex for me. Absolute beast mode in both though and very well made.

I tried today almost all de marly cents. Percival is not unique for me, similar to many other cheap fragrances. Beside Layton, Carlisle is suprising me from hour to hour. I like it very much. I will it smell it tommorow again. Its so hard to decide girls. 😅

Layton is good but it was never a wow fragrance for me, cause i find it very similar to Pure Havane which i used alot in the past. Although their notes seem to be different but there are definite similarities. Same thing with Carlisle but not as much, i find it has similarities with Amouage Jubilition XXV another masterpiece of a fragrance
