Layton is absolutely divine. It's one of the only fragrances I loved from first smell. Aventus is nice but I can't justify spending the money when there's so many clones around $30.
Detour Noir and Lalique White in Black are pretty darn good Layton clones for a fracture of the OG's price. I personally prefer Layton over Aventus, because the latter has like 20 clones, and at least 3 of them are really good quality too, sometimes even better than the OG if we compare them to the newer Creed batches.
The fact that they were told that these colognes are Niche before reviewing them might changed their thoughts. It would be fine if they smelled it without having an intro.
After trying ~40 decants, these 2 (along with Tobacco Vanille and Herod) are my favorites. There's a reason why they're so popular. Also - as long as you have style and put effort into your outfits, and you're well groomed (being fit/athletic doesn't hurt either), you'll turn heads with both of these.
So I love Parfums de Marly fragrances. In this video the men and 2 other women, who I didn’t find attractive chose Creed. And the women who were prettier in my eyes chose Layton. Kinda tells me all I need to know on who I prefer to attract when I wear Parfums de Marly.

Jim is always my favorite guest. He’s always so imaginative and hilarious. 😂 On a serious note, I’ve never had the association of freshly cut wood to Aventus before until he said it. And I can tell by that comment he’s done a lot of wood chopping in the past coz I’ve also had my fair share and he’s so spot on with that comment. Cutting off a branch of a trees gives off more aroma than cutting a dried wood. And Aventus does give off that wet woody kind of vibe. Layton up close just smells like vaporub and apples. In the air is what other people smell and that is where the magic happens with most fragrances. 10/10 in the air, 5/10 off skin/paper.
I must have tried about 100 fragrances over the course of a few years and I ended up with about 25 that were favourites. Layton is one of them. If I had to choose one signature scent for the rest of my life, from the 25 I have, I'd choose Layton. As nice as Aventus is, there are too many decent clones to justify paying Creed prices. Mancera Cedrat Boise comes pretty close to Aventus, but I actually prefer it. That's my summer scent. There's another from Zara in the UK too, called Vibrant Leather that smells almost identical to Aventus and costs £19.99 for a 100ml bottle.
Vibrant Leather lasts a couple of hours if you're lucky; used it for about 3 months but got fed up of re-applying. It smells vaguely reminiscent of Aventus, but is nothing like the real deal. Bought an actual bottle and the difference was night and day to any clone I tried; you get what you pay for.

Only bad thing about this video is that the new batches of Aventus are so weak. 3-4 hours at the most for $300 + F THAT!. I had a bottle when it first came out and it smelled soooo much better n smelled much more masculine then the newer batches. Now it just smells like citrus n woods + is more synthetic then it use to be. CDNIM EDP or PARFUM is the closest to the 2011 2012 batches. Sure it’s very synthetic at first but after like 20 mins it’s amazing and I get compliments just about every time I wear CDNIM EDP n it lasts for at least 12hrs on skin(never spray it on ya clothes only on skin). Now PDM Layton is just as good now as it was in 2016 when it came out still smells of high quality and is worth that price tag. I know this how? Just My opinion, but Layton is far superior all of the way around. Especially in regards to longevity & projection. Side note: crazy how different people's noses are. Their noses picked up literally none of the actual notes and accords in Layton. I don't get anything close to a fireball whiskey accord from Layton. (I'm sitting here as I type this smelling a bottle of fireball and then a card I sprayed some Layton on & scent wise the two are literally light years away. I also don't get any orange in Aventus.
Maybe they didn't smell any of that in some time, so they don't have the connection for pineapple and the spices in Layton. Or they just don't know the smell of actual vanilla for example. Most people just know the artificial vanilla that is used in flavouring - that isn't made from actual vanilla.
I got Al Haramain L'aventure Knight for $40...it's supposed to smell just like Green Irish Tweed, but i don't get it...something's missing, like the expensive ingredients. I'd like to send it to the Baldassarres and see if they think it's close...maybe do one of these comparisons with the real thing.
He’s right about Green Irish Tweed … that thing is a master piece 🤌🏽 ordained by God himself. if I could only have 1 fragrance it would princely be that.
Like most things in life scents are subjective. I like fresh citrusy smells so I love Aventus. I mostly wear it for myself as its hard to be in a bad mood when you smell like a super fresh pineapple. lol
The only thing wats wrong with aventus is it’s lost it’s punch an scent trail after they waters it down… them old bottles of aventus were phenomenal…now all we get is a reformulated rubbish
Honestly I dont get Layton. I think it smells terrible. Everyone Ive shown it to has said the same thing. There is something wrong with the weather in Arizona because I dont get anything that anyone says about Layton. I challenge anyone to a blind test on a third party.
Guy hit the nail on the head when he implied Aventus is overrated. MI, SMW, and GIT are way better than Aventus. PVITO blows Aventus out of the water when it comes to projection, longevity, and overall performance.
Parfums De Marly Layton is dead folks. It died the day they changed the alcohol from 78% to 82%. The screening is like 2 hours max. The durability is like 6 hours. Looking at these statistics this is awful for that much money 😢
@@jarrettjustin3031 Detour Noir is Layton without Apple. The wood and vanilla combo definitely smells cheaper, but it's ... Not that far off. Just lacks the apple. And the lavender, but ... That's weak in Layton anyways.
Aventus is a bit better(I rate it 8 out of 10), fresh, clean and cool (as in temperature) with some medium notes which are interesting. Leyton feels a bit generic, very sweet and very warm (6 out of 10) and has nothing that is truly unique or original.

The comparison is wrong ! Layton is masterpiece ❤
Not wrong but predictable for sure they choose layton on the street
Get each one. They’re both the top scents in the game!!!
For everyone, u can get Al Haramain Detour Noir for like 20 euro and its like 99% layton
It's never 99%.
I have both. I dont like Layton as much, but the girls like Layton much more
THE CLASH OF THE TITANS.
THESE TWO ARE THE MIGHTIEST OF ALL
Make a video of them explaining their imagination based on how the fragrance smell
Aventus is a boxer dropping Layton is a panty dropper
so its aventus for you then
@@indrekparmasto6984 haha nah bro….You
Yeah.. aventus smell like men armpits. I get dizzy. Layton smell almost like Naxos Xerjoff but with 50% ambergris
At 0:42, 3:41 and 5:39 it’s all Peachy.
Leyton doesn't pop on the tester strip so hard to judge.
She still wearing that scarface t shirt
He’s right about Green Irish Tweed … that thing is a master piece 🤌🏽 ordained by God himself. if I could only have 1 fragrance it would princely be that.
Like most things in life scents are subjective. I like fresh citrusy smells so I love Aventus. I mostly wear it for myself as its hard to be in a bad mood when you smell like a super fresh pineapple. lol
I want to buy Layton so bad but I can’t get over ppl saying it smells like vapor rub..& I don’t want to smell like vapor rub lol
Layton has given the most compliments ever, the real deal is the dry down
those paper strips suck to test cologne. Smells way better on skin or clothes
"Wick Vaporub and Fireball Whisky" 😂😂🙏🏼
Damn this was spot on, it smells the same to my nose.
The only thing wats wrong with aventus is it’s lost it’s punch an scent trail after they waters it down… them old bottles of aventus were phenomenal…now all we get is a reformulated rubbish
Why did the video just cut off?
Honestly I dont get Layton. I think it smells terrible. Everyone Ive shown it to has said the same thing. There is something wrong with the weather in Arizona because I dont get anything that anyone says about Layton. I challenge anyone to a blind test on a third party.
I feel like the tide is going towards peoples feeling these two are over saturated
Guy hit the nail on the head when he implied Aventus is overrated. MI, SMW, and GIT are way better than Aventus. PVITO blows Aventus out of the water when it comes to projection, longevity, and overall performance.
Creed doesnt last long and is so overated when you consider the price. Parfum de marly is high quality and lasts long
Parfums De Marly Layton is dead folks. It died the day they changed the alcohol from 78% to 82%. The screening is like 2 hours max. The durability is like 6 hours. Looking at these statistics this is awful for that much money 😢
Layton > Aventus
Well they’re both good for different seasons aventus spring and summer, Layton fall and winter
Paradox 13 is a good Layton clone.
I'd pay $100 for aventus too, n I paid $30 for Layton (detour noir)
How do you like detour noir? I’ve heard it’s good
@@jarrettjustin3031 I like it so much that if Layton dropped to $100 I'd still buy detour noir
@@jarrettjustin3031 Detour Noir is Layton without Apple. The wood and vanilla combo definitely smells cheaper, but it's ... Not that far off. Just lacks the apple. And the lavender, but ... That's weak in Layton anyways.
How many sprays is good for Layton?
Aventus is a bit better(I rate it 8 out of 10), fresh, clean and cool (as in temperature) with some medium notes which are interesting. Leyton feels a bit generic, very sweet and very warm (6 out of 10) and has nothing that is truly unique or original.
I’m glad someone was actually able to guess the fragrance. Chris seems to know his scents. I own 5 creed bottles and every time I wear them I get a lot of compliments even after a 12 hour work day.
Chris always on point
Who has Creed Aventus money as a college freshman!?!😂 It must be good to be a scholarship athlete!!
The kids of the 1 percent my friend lol
@@DarlingNikki2 Not a freshman but that internship money baby
I don’t like Layton, the mint in it ruins it
Layton’s dry down smells like Mugler’s Alien for Women. End of. Once you realise this you’ll never want it 😅
Aventus all day. I can't take the vicks vibes i get from layton.
During the winter times i prefer tuxedo from ysl. It smells so good; a quality fragrance through and through
Men and masculine women, love the smell of creed aventus
Homegirl with the big glasses is so cute lol
Nice Video as always
i feel like that kinda ended abruptly
This group gave better feedback
Am I shocked that people that love very basic fragrances loved Aventus? Not really. It’s the Rolex of the fragrance world, an overly expensive flex for people with no imagination.
Aventus is clone 39.95 worthy Layton is unique enough said
Aventus Vs. Cedrat Boise next? 👀
Did anyone else find Tressa and Chriss incredibly obnoxious or am i the only one ? The rest of the reviewers were nice, especially Jim, I liked Jim and his opinion a lot even tho he didnt pick layton that i absolutely adore as a winter/fall/autum daily scent.
why don't you still update this chanel?
