Samuel R (David) Houston 26-6-1972

On 26 June in 1972 the IRA murdered Samuel R (David) Houston, 22, Married, wife pregnant, RUC policeman shot in his chest intercepting the driver of a bomb-laden car which exploded minutes later, outside the Stables Pub, Water Street, Newry, Co Down, Northern Ireland.
Constable Houston was born in Manchester, but had been living in Strabane, Co Tyrone. His pregnant wife went into labour days after his murder.
