This year I started to build a vegetable garden. Did it for many reasons but mainly to spend quiet time outside with my 3 year old with our hands in the dirt. So many lessons can be taught. Even if we fail to grow one edible piece of food, that will be a lesson and gift to both of us.

Here in Portugal, we do the same but during summer months! I love it, did it as a child, now 43 still do it and have passed that to younger family members! 😊The joy of making homemade jam or popsicles is priceless! ❤ Nature is healing and so abundant!

When my kids were young, we always ended the summer by going blackberry picking.
Walks with them now, as teenagers, are special as they're fewer. But chatting and walking is magical and beautiful.
I used to do this with my kids when we lived on a property with natural blackberry bushes waaayy in the back up the hills. I cherish those times 🫶🏻
