    I have a question for you. Why do you have to high light the Elmo's shadow with the boxes to slice him. Is this something you have to do in order to get him that big. I'm asking because I'm new to this. I have a Cricut explore air. That my husband bought me almost 2weeks ago. So I'm still new. TFS

    • @CraftingwithWine
      @CraftingwithWine  8 лет назад

      +diana torres You have to highlight the two together, to be able to slice. You can only slice a layer at a time. Congrats on you air. You will be a pro in no time!

      @@CraftingwithWine so how did u get it from design space to in your hands. Like whats the steps missing from your camera not recording. Ive done everything you stated in the video, but to get it "printed out" did you select send to printer or keep it on the option for your cricuit? Did you use poster board? Or cardstock?

      Laurie Martin the biggest was 37in tall and it was Mama Imelda from Coco. I really love making it. I will remake it for my self "well my kids" ☺️ after you do 2-3 projects you will find short ways to do it. Right now im working on a 25in tall LOL Dolls.

    • @alejandropatino1524
      @alejandropatino1524 5 лет назад +1

      Laurie Martin also if you want to make something bigger, make sure the colors are different and not all over the image! I personally don't like putting same color with different cuts and put them together. Because you will see the difference on the cuts, I always make sure the cut fits the whole color that goes on the svg project. Either on a 12x12 mat or 12x24 mat, for biggers cuts on same color I use 12x24 cardstock.

    can you not just cut the black image in black once it is all sliced and then cut it in the red that way all of the pieces will match. Or do you have to slice the black for the back and then the red for the top. Is there a size difference is that why you have to cut both layers separately?

    • @CraftingwithWine
      @CraftingwithWine  7 лет назад

      I cut both layers because, first I need the black for the opening of Elmo's mouth and secondly, it makes the large die cut more stable. Hope this answers your questions. Cheers, Carolyn

    • @traceygarth8923
      @traceygarth8923 7 лет назад +1

      The cut that is already sliced can you not use it for the black layer and the red layer, or must you cut and slice the black layer for the black and cut and slice the red layer for the red paper. Simply can you not cut and slice Elmo One time and then cut the black paper with that image and then the red paper with that same image? Hopefully that makes sense.

    • @purediva81
      @purediva81 7 лет назад

      Tracey Garth That's an excellent question. I wonder if you could save time by ungrouping and keeping the biggest layers in place as you slice to cut down on some of the work. Hmmm....

    • @NerdyMina
      @NerdyMina 7 лет назад +1

      I think the reason they need to be cut separately (from what I've seen in other videos and on the internet) is that the black layer is usually slightly bigger than the color layer to help create a black outline once everything is pieced together.

      Print and cut is different. The size is determined by your browser. Chrome will only print and cut up to 5.5" X 8.5".
