With my first set of locs, they were thinner than I wanted. Toward the end, I started untwisting my retwist. GAME CHANGER!!! I started noticing how much thicker my locs were getting. I cut / combed out my locs to rid bad energy. I just restrated my new set last week and I'm excited to get this thickness going
Yesss Omgsh when I started untwisting my retwist…I was like “why ain’t nobody tell meeeeee!?” 😂😂 thickened my Locs right up! And yassss to getting rid of that bad energy and starting anew! 👏🏾👏🏾 Cheers to your new Loc Journey Queen!! 🥳😁🫶🏾🫶🏾
Just started my loc journey last month, and got my 1st wash and retwist 2days ago. Both times she put in a protective style due to the nature of my work but this time around was done a little to tight. Saw this video in my recommendations and this gave me a reason to take it out of that style tomorrow. 4:20
I use to get a retwist once a month in my starter locs phase. Then, after awhile when my hair loc’d, I started getting retwist every six weeks. Then, I went to eight weeks. In my second year, I stretched my retwist to every three months. I was going to try for every six months, but no ma’am. I changed my mind about that mess. I got my appointment for next Wednesday. It’s working out just fine for me. I’m sticking to my routine. Oh, I wash my hair every two weeks, no need for untwisting my retwist.😅😅😅
😆😆 I screamed @ "no ma'am!" Lol I know that's right! I was reading your comment and by the time you said you were gonna try for every 6 months, my mouth was on the floor! 🤣 I wish I could retwist every 3 months tho, omg what a DREAM 😍 Yasss washing your hair every 2 weeks will def do the job! And ooooh enjoy your appointment! I'm jealous lol, I might be right behind ya 😅
I just started mine almost 4 weeks . I wet it in the at 2weeks and I raised it again last week . It’s started to loc and getting think . I’m leaving it alone the water in the shower I love ends get really curly and look like goddess locs which is what I’m going for . Thank u for sharing I can’t wait ❤
Yassss!!! Welcome to the Loc Family!!! 💕🔒 So glad you're here!! 🤗 I absolutely love the goddess locs look! I hope you continue to love your journey as much as I have! The Loc'd life is amazzzzing! 😆
Great video! I had the same problem with the perimeter of my head and what helped me was "crochet retwisting" them. But only a little, like just a few passes lol I do this maybe once a year or once every 6 months and it's only for two locs in the front.
Thank you!! 🤗 oooh yesss I’ve heard about that method before, for the partial retwists around the perimeter- but I was too scared that I was gonna mess sumn’ up haha 🤭 I’m glad you found something that worked for you! It took me a while lol 😅
Ahhh Sis you know I’ve been secretly wanting you to come back to the Loc Gannng!! 🔥🔥 but I ain’t been tryna pressure you haha. Doooo Ittt, yours were so cute! 😮💨😍🔥
Your advise are amazing but I think you have natural 4c thick hair beautiful by the way!!! Like most 4c girls. I wish daily my hair was 4c, your hair is luxury and ancestry.
@biancayasmeen to get your "locs thick and grown and grown and thick" or for anything else from afro to traditional hairstyle 4c is the blue print. You can't beat 4c hair when it is healthy and well look after. Thank you for the compliment ☺️.
I wish my retwist lasted 2 weeks. 🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾 I’m lucky if it lasts 1 week. My hair grows away from the loc. my roots are curly and the rest of my hair is wavy. After 1 year, my hair finally started budding and locing. I just started using black castor oil and an aloe or rose water spritz. Wish me luck.
I know what you mean 💕💕 my bestie had soft texture hair and said she experienced the same thing. sometimes our hair just be doin it’s own thang 😅 when my hair grows away from the roots, I have to lightly retwist, to kind of ‘train’ the loose hairs to get up in that Loc. Wishing you all the luck! You got this!! 🔒💕🫶🏾💕
I use 'Now Grapeseed Oil' and 'Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil'- I just added the Amazon links in the description if you want to check them out! 🤗💕

For me personally I wash my hair at that time period and it pretty much puffs your roots back up anyway. I retwist every 2 months but wash it every 2 weeks
You remind me of Maxine Shaw from Living Single
Ahhh I lovvvve me some "Maxine Shaw, Attorney at Law!" I'm currently rewatching all the episodes of Living Single haha 😆 Thank you! 💕
😊 Maxine was my favorite one. Loved her personality
The Maverick 😉
You’re so right 😅
