Abandoning it in a shopping cart is not a safe way to treat a helpless infant. The baby could have been taken by a deranged person who would do terrible things to it. A happily ever after outcome is not guaranteed when helpless babies or animals are just “dropped off”.

But that doesn't take away the trauma that baby being left by her mother. That baby is old enough to know what her mother looks like. She may not understand that she was abandoned by she see her mom walk away without being on the care of someone that baby trust.

Thank you to the mom for not harming the baby and for leaving her in a safe place. I know this wasn't an ideal situation. There are places you can take your child and leave them. But maybe she was scared they would arrest her or something. Who knows. All we know is that the little one is safe. Hopefully the mom will get help with her unborn child.

We don’t know the Women story . She probably wasn’t in a good situation and did the best she could . As you see she didn’t even have a car so we can’t blame the women for not reaching a hospital . Better safe than sorry .

This was the only news article I could find that gave a description more that pregnant mother. And the age could be younger or older as there are ppl in their 20's looking like 50 and ppl in their 40's looking like 20.
This description sounds like a woman escaping from something. If she is escaping from a DA, I hope the child won't be returned to the father.
I feel so bad for this little baby. My daughter is 9 months and attached to both me and her dad. She would be so scared if we just left her like that. I hope the baby girl finds a home filled with the love and care she deserves. ❤

I’m glad she abandoned the toddler. It’s so much better than killing, hurting them. No one know what she going through and should gladly take the child and find a good home. Again no one knows what this lady is going through and must have thought it was best to leave her. I hope and pray the toddler gets a wonderful home and parents.

For sure. Abandonment laws should also allow more than a few days to surrender your rights without legal repercussions, especially if we don’t have abortion as a widely available option.

That's what I've been saying. Having a child that is 7-9 months and looking like she's in her third trimester is sus. That would indicate that she got pregnant right after giving birth. Unless she has more than one baby in there. She could be a victim of SA and/or DA.
And if so I can understand why the police wasn't a priority. Especially since alot of DA abusers have shown to be part of the authorities and usually can get away with it bc "a person with that kind of job can't be an abuser."

They do know but can't find/get hold of her. I read that relatives identified the infant and mother. The police just keeps their identities a secret for now.

I’m sad that she felt she had no other choices but so glad that she didn’t harm the baby. Yes, leaving her in a cart wasn’t ideal but she made herself notice as she came in with the baby, having someone call her a cab, then exiting without the baby. Someone is almost always by the register which is by the door. That child was not going to be left alone long. I’m really glad that the baby wasn’t taken by someone that would have really harmed her. But this is why I believe the mom left her at a small store so the staff would notice before anyone could take her. I feel horrible that she felt that she had to abandon her child. She’s young and she may not even know that she can take and leave her baby at a designated safe place. I really hope that she can be followed up on with this new baby.
No one knows her back story so how can anyone begin to judge her. What if she’s trying to get her baby out of an ab*sive household and she didn’t know what else to do? 🤷🏼♀️
I just hope the baby is able to find a safe and loving home. I also hope that this woman finds the assistance she needs. As a mom, I can never begin imagine leaving my child anywhere but also being at a point where I felt I had no other choice; that’s just heartbreaking. I hope she can get the help her and the babies both need.

Maybe she did it so the child could have a better life than she could be able to give it, as she was pregnant with a child in the images. I wish she would have tried to leave it with authorities, but she may have been afraid of being in trouble.
