To be honest Violet feels kinda like Peter Parker with all that responsibility and the fact that she has someone she loves but doesn’t remember her! 👌
Their names and ages represent their powers.
1) Jack Jack is a baby, so he’s unpredictable and his powers are a jack of all trades.
2) Dash is a kid, so he has alot of energy and his power is superspeed.
3) Violet is a teen, so she’s more shy & protective and her powers are ultraviolet forcefields and turn invisible with ultraviolet light.
4) Bob is the dad, so he’s the strong one.
5) Helen is the mom, so she’s more flexible in life and her powers are elasticity.
Yeah, and I'm like babies can't be psychos...
That’s really smart!
Jack-Jack is not a psychopath. Babies don’t develop empathy until they’re 3-5 years old. He’s just not old enough to understand the severity of his actions. Or alternatively he could be a psychopath but he’s not old enough to be properly diagnosed regardless.
Imagine calling a literal BABY a psychopath. Yes, Sophie's brain is big and smart.
@@MegatronPrime321Jesus christ, it was a passive comment made for the sake of some slight humor, i’m gonna need both of y’all to calm the fuck down…
So Incredible and Elastic Girl should know that will goind to happen and not be so surprising, right?
I mean yes he has many powers and lots of technical advances but Jack-Jack, no psychopath.
Rubbish, the same people who say babies only feel empathy at 3-5 years of age say that you reach psychological sexual maturity at 2. Those theories are based on the ageing of other select mammals, mostly carnivorans such as dogs and cats, not primates and not humans. And since female dogs have their uterus up and running at max capacity at 2, some 'genius' psychologist says this means all mammals are ready to consent by then.
Human babies are known to develop their sense of self at between 1 and 2 years, and from then on any expression they show is a choice to empathise with others, rather than purely a reflection of what they observe. But that's just social communicative empathy. Human babies show signs of functional empathy almost the same time they learn to apply different levels of pressure with their hands, perhaps even before- but that's the first time we can tell. Once a baby knows instinctively not to crush delicate things, that's empathy.
And Jack-Jack shows what's very typical for toddlers, when a kid is exposed to media before they fully understand the difference between fiction and reality (which can be aggravated when they spend more time communicating with media than real life, or when they observe adults being entertained specifically by cruel actions on TV, which the kid perceives as clever and then tries to imitate in exchange for praise). Some kids try to run into ironing boards and stretch and fold over lile in Tom and Jerry. Some kids try to jump off a ledge flapping their arms very hard. Some kids deny their own sense of empathy to experiment wirh crushing living things, often followed by maniacal laughter.
What JackJack is doing is sociopathic-adjacent, because through learned behaviours he is exhibiting antisocial (not asocial, antisocial as in anti-society) behaviour without internal remorse because of how he is being socialized to behave. This doesn't mean that he's doomed to be a sociopath, many kids have a cruelty phase. But Sophie isn't entirely wrong.
It’s kind of funny because the villain is literally just Sophie.
She blames her parents death on them putting their safety in the trust of others too much. She literally just wants people to be less trusting 😂
Stop 😭
😂 That is soooo true
I got 3 weeks too late to say the same thing🤷🏾♂️💪🏾😂
The parents were silly and brought it on themselves, though. They already knew supers were outlawed. It was a high profile court case all over the news and every time a statue of Supers got removed it was in the papers. So this rich guy thinks that because he has personally met two Supers before, they should risk their lives and families and jump to his rescue? Especially when he hasn't called to find out if the deal is still on? Plus, he put the Super Hotline near the front door so he could show off his relations to Supers to his guests, rather than putting one, or just a second phone on the same line, in the safe room. Basically, their sort of trust was a 'rich guy showing off his hoke security' trust, not genuine faith like their son had.
@@SophieLents And in any case, they didn't choose not to show up. They couldn't, they'd just been made illegal, the hotlines were cut.
Fun fact: We were originally going to see Frozon’s wife Honey in this movie but it was cut out and her design was given to some random person in the background
"This is a kids movie, they wouldn't show us this Mr. Dick blowing his head off"
Pixar literally showed a character being tortured to death onscreen in Cars 2.
And Syndrome t0rturing Bob.
Not old enough to not giggle a little at Dick blowing head off.....
I can see where Evelyn's coming from, but she didn't really *need* to do anything to achieve her goal. Supers were already illegal, and ger actions reversed that. The exact opposite of what she wanted. It's not well thought out at all. This movie definitely needed more time to go through another draft.
I would assume since her brother is working towards the opposite, she wanted to make sure supers were outlawed permanently without directly confronting her brother. But yeah, it's still a stretch
It really isn't that big of a deal. Lmao. It's a freaking cartoon! Lmao.
@Elden Wolf Lord So in a movie where they curse and people die, it doesn't matter if the plot makes sense because it's a cartoon?? But it would matter if it were live-action I assume.
Yeah, I thought that was confusing too
True. Scriptwriters should hire CinemaSins to review their drafts
The train rescue is a parallel to when Bob did the same thing in the first movie, to put further distance between them.
He does it, people get hurt. She does it, no one does.
To be fair they both have fundamentally different powers each with pros and cons. Bobs super strength is mostly for offence with to offer in defense, while Helen's elasticity while it CAN be used offensively, it's mostly a defensive type power. Bob is good at dealing damage and preventing things from falling but not without brute force. Helen is more elegant and soft (quite literally) with her powers as she can be a little more variable and isn't locked into one thing. She can morph into a parachute, a rubberband, etc to prevent accidents.
What I like stylistically about the two Incredibles movies is the decision to place the movies in an early 1960's era. Cars were so ugly, but also beautiful at the same time. Pastels were all the rage, and there were some real ugly color combinations, like orange and black, but also some beautiful combinations, like light blue and white. The houses of that era had huge front and back yards (my house was built in 1957 and the subdivision from late 50's to early 60's) if you caught that during the movies. Housewife was one of six very limited occupation choices open to women, but that was just beginning to change (that was addressed in this movie). Planes were beginning to become streamlined with swept back, instead of straight edge, wings.
It was also an era of drastic change. Passenger rail was dying as was the ocean liner industry as it was becoming so much faster and cheaper to fly. The 1960's began with people just accepting wholeheartedly as fact anything the government said and the decade ended with hundreds of thousands marching in the streets angrily demanding change as the president of the country was shot down in the streets and his political rival soon got us into an unwinnable war under some very dubious circumstances. To quote Charles Dickens: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times."
The 50s/60's era was also so interesting when it came to styling as well. A lot of sharp angles/edges, wood trimming (not like full wood panelling like in the 70s), interesting shapes used everywhere, etc. Out of all the decades, I think the 50s/60s is my favourite as it's beautifully tasteful while the 70s feels drab and grimey, the 80's is a bit too colorful for me, etc.
Only an ignorant 2K kid like you would say 60's cars are so ugly.
"Maybe supers were the robbers?"
Now that's a plot twist we didn't get in the movie.
Please can we get Edna's backstory movie? Pleeeeeeeaase?
Here's how I'd pitch it:
No rags to riches story. We've got enough of those, and we all know goddamn well Edna Mode is too fabulous to have come from nothing.
Born into the high life fashion world, the thing that makes her different is a desire to design for supers, as well as a genius with tech. Think rich girl who had all the resources to make a difference, except she actually did.
She made a name for herself by being the first designer to incorporate their powers into the suit.
We see her become the icon we know her to be. Life couldn't be better.
Then the cape controversy happens, and supers dying from cape related accidents start appearing regularly in the papers.
The movies about her coming back on top despite it.
Maybe even show that the other designers were paid by bad guys to add capes, but Edna only did it because she thought it was the trend, so of course because the other designers have some kind of protection, her name is essentially the only one being smeared.
I should reiterate: DO NOT ABSOLVE HER OF GUILT. Make it very clear she made a serious mistake that cost many innocent supers' lives, but that doesn't mean she should have to pay for it the rest of her life.
How does she do it? She remembers who she is, and what her God given talent is: designing super suits with the supers in mind.
And thus, she threatens to start firing anyone who dares to try and add capes to her designs going forward, but because all these people have worked with her for years, not one of them dare to contradict her. If she says no capes, no capes it shall be.
Before long, the cape trend dies out until they're only ever seen in Halloween costumes, and cape related accidents never darken a newspaper headline again.
Until the ending, where Edna's walking out of a room for a meeting, leaving behind a newspaper showing a super being slandered in the papers, thus starting the lawsuits.
wow im sold.
I’m sold too. Pitch it to Brad Bird
The Baby vs the Raccoon is my favorite scene
Same
Funny hearing you talk about misogyny when you labeled the guy a villain the second he showed up just because he was a rich guy.
"It's ok when we do it"
The emphasis is on "rich" and CEO of a corporation
I hate how you immediately say his misogyny is showing, no he doesn't have anything against women - especially his wife. He just want to be the hero, however, I know why you'd think that way since you don't remember the first movie. EDIT: Since in the first movie, he just wants to regain the glory days of being a hero.
Mr Incredible just wants to be a hero again, he's just sad he isn't the one to restart the superhero movement. He's just a child that wants to be the main character.
I agree. I don't mind talking during reaction videos but mistaking any man-woman "beef" as misogyny is just annoying, especially if the truth is explicitly shown in the previous movie.
@@ChrisDeon-ro6xt I couldn't agree more with that
The only problem that I had with this movie was its predictable villain, who was nowhere near the level of Syndrome and has a motivation that made no sense. But everything else was great. Not as good as the original, but still worth the 14 year wait. This is everything I wanted out of an Incredibles sequel. It has amazing action, the characters are very well developed, and the story is phenomenal. What makes The Incredibles so great is not just the superhero aspect, but also the family aspect, and they still feel like a real family.
It’s also insane how huge this movie was at the box office, it made over $1.2 billion worldwide and $608 million in North America, the biggest animated film over here in the US, which shows how long we waited for the sequel.
Sing 2
Syndrome has an even less believable motivation.
Predictable villain?? Not for me😭
@@Goldblasterblaze righttt 😂
I thought syndrom was way more predictable and had no real motivation apart from spite
I don’t know how many times I heard Sophie say goofy throughout this whole reaction. It’s just hilarious to me!
The "brainwashing segment" at 10:10 was the intro to a tv show called 'The Outer Limits' . It was similar in tone to 'The Twilight Zone'.
I enjoyed this film more when I first saw it in cinemas for sure. On it's own it's harmless entertainment with animation that is drop dead dazzling, but as you say compared to the first one, it's simply just okay lol
The person who originally voiced Rick Dicker, Bud Luckey, passed away in between the making of the two movies.
This was an interesting sequel I love Edna my friend dressed like her and she does an amazing version of her.
Well Evelyn's thing is hypnosis, she achieves it through screens.
Also her goal was to make supers illegal forever. What I mean, is that she wants to make it so there is no possibility of a future law coming to fruition. The main plot is about her brother trying to make supers legal, because there was a chance, as the public still supported them.
The banning of supers could've potentially been temporary, as a new law could be passed to bring them back, but she wants to ensure the ban stays permanent by eradicating any support or trust in supers, effectively making the ban PERMANENT
Also, I like how her name is a pun. Evelyn Deavor (evil endeavor)
The "We control the horizontal, we control the vertical" is the opening from an old show that ran from 1963 - 1965 and then had a revival series that ran from 1995 - 2002, and yes it was a real show sort of like The Twilight Zone.
That would be The Outer Limits then.
@@travissmith2848 Dude, I can not believe I didn't mention the name of the show in my comment. smh
The reason Evelyn is the surprise villain was because the heroes her Dad called for didn't arrive in which lead to his fate. That's because Syndrome killed those heroes to pretend to be the world's new hero.
Bob was just eager to comeback as a hero, just like it happened in the first movie. He loves being Mr.Incredible, it's the one thing he is truly good at and the one thing he loves, then Winston hypes him up so much about being a legal hero again aaaaand then he takes it away from him. That's why he struggles so badly, he just wants to be super again but he can't, he needs to be a stay-at-home dad so Helen can do her thing as Elastigirl.
All of the children’s names are connected to their abilities. Violet (ultraviolet or the ability to turn invisible), Dash (super speed), and Jack Jack (or Jack of all trades hence his 18 different abilities)
They do give away who the bad guy really is early on in the form of her name. Evelyn Dever ... Evil Endeavor.
They also had the same fun word play in the first movie with the name of Syndrome's island. Nomanisan Island ... No man is an island.
Like Mt. Whanahokalugee in Finding Nemo
you really should watch The Incredibles shorts (Jack Jack Attack and Aunt Edna) they are really good and show more scenes about Jack Jack and his powers
also, ppl usually forgot that The Incredibles is set in the 60s
Fantastic Four is a Marvel family that has super powers similar to these characters. Reed Richards has the same powers as Elastic Girl. Ben Grimm has the Super Strength that Mr Increndible has without the Rock hard skin. Violet powers of invisibility and force Fields is like Sue Storm, Invisible Woman. Dash is super fast and Johnny Storm, Sue's brother, can become a Human Torch. He is the only one who is not like his Incredible counter part.
Hmmmmm.. I think I’m NOT the only person who weren’t able to predict the Villain..😅
Also the Villains point is that if people always counting on super heroes than they never prepare them selves for worst so when heros aren't available people don't have any option but to just die
Upvote just for CatDog. :D
And, after 20mins watching u watching this, i remember i saw this movie. And I totally forgot it. But i still hear Edna yell "No capes!" now and then.
This Film made $1.2 Billion worldwide box office.
I was waiting for you to do this film!😄
Don't worry Sophie, my villain radar also goes real hard but still tend to bid for the wrong horse.
Thanks for the video Sophie! :)
4:36 - I love the music that shows up in the BG every time you either question yourself or go into some deep speculation about something. Like this here; which music is that may I ask?
Honestly I feel like jack jack carried this one but the plot twist was also cool 😅
You should see the deleted clips w Edna Mode and jack jack. They was made into a short movie : Auntie Edna.😍😍😍
Also, I love this movie! So I’ve been looking forward to this reaction! 😄
Hi Sophie hope you are having an great and awesome weekend ❤
My friend and I died laughing at the racoon scene
11:35-12:09 My dad loved this scene. 😂
22:51 Yeah but the only reason they weren't able to come was because they'd just been made illegal. And neither the superheroes nor the law forced the robbers to shoot him. they could've run, they could've just fired at the wall to make him duck and run, they could've just shot to injure, not to kill. They chose to shoot him.
Plus, one of those heroes that Dean's dad tried to call was Gazerbeam - the hero whose skeleton had been found in the cave in the first movie. If he was the kind who would ignore calls for help, then he wouldn't have used his last moments before he died to carve the word Kronos into the cave as a clue to the next superhero who would be tricked.
They confirmed that the baby has 17 powers
MATH IS MATH
And yes I definitely prefer the first film but man frozone’s ice in this film looks insanely good
Jack jack is still a baby. He has no controll of his powers
3:15 I really love his laugh
There's a fan theory that the floating laser beam monster on the news in Monsters Inc was actually Jack Jack
You're not the only one so don't take this personal. I kind of watch reactions where the reactors talk more than the movies they are reacting to
Yes it is possible to die from heartbreak. It's called broken heart syndrome. It's what Johnny Cash died from.
Happy Early Birthday Sophie! 🥳🎉
Ty
@@SophieLents You’re welcome.
Lol, about to have my Masters degree in political studies. They want the institutions to make sense, but if you look closely: NOTHING makes sense.
Yep
Outer limits! I loved that show! (What Bob was watching).
It's actually one of the thickest movie in the world
Sophie its been so long how are u doin? Im now 22 years old
thank you sophie for another amazing video
Thanks for watching :)
Always ready to watch
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!❤ Keep up the amazing commentaries!
❤️
Please watch Prince of Egypt
12:36 Yes, he could be more gracious, but try to see it from his perspective. He has been obsessed with continuing superhero work (even secretly, behind-the-scenes). Every fiber of his being wanting to get back out there and be who he's meant to be. Meanwhile, his wife has been basically completely contented with her new life. He has never accepted just being a regular man, she has relatively happily accepted it. Now, when they're finally given the chance to try to put a face out there, she gets to do it. He's been the one who's wanting to do this for years, she hasn't, but she gets to.
I completely feel his frustration.
Take anyone with an insatiable passion. If the opportunity they've prayed for for years is finally presented, it would _KILL_ them to have someone who's 'meh' about it be chosen to be the face of it.
Yes, she comes around to it, the old thrill of superhero work doesn't take long to excite her again, but she was fine without it. He was never fine without it.
...and in my mind, it has nothing to do with man versus woman. It has to do with passion versus complacency.
The moment you realize the heroes probably didn't show up was because Syndrome killed them...
ahahahah sophie is the best, she is funny, adorable e cute!!!!! I wish she react to my favorite movie ever, pulp fiction.
Finally
Dicker looked like Richard M Nixon to me.
25:05 it’s like the car from despicable me 2( Lucy’s car)
Even though this came out 14 years after the first, I didn't find this goofy at all.
1. You watched the first movie 8 months ago. 2. Happy early birthday. 3. Today is my birthday.
Happy Birthday! 🎉
@Rachel Kelly Thank you Rachel! 😊
@@tariqdogg5944 You’re welcome.
Happy Birthday! 🎉🎉
@Vizer 04 Thank you Vizer! 😊
idk if you have seen monster inc yet but...think about jack jack in other dimensions...and monster inc new reels
I still say:
a) Might have been a better idea to have the hotlines (as well as another regular phone) in the safe room so that you could get to safety and THEN call the superheroes
b) If he'd called the police instead I still bet Evelyn would be trying to dismantle the police, say that he put his father into unqualified people with a badge and uniform who somehow have the right to a gun. Winston grieves his parents death by trying to bring back something they admired. Evelyn grieves her parents death by taking her hurt out onto everyone - and she doesn't seem to care who she injures or even kills in the process, including people who may/do have children or children themselves so she's a hypocrite.
c) I agree with those who suspect Evelyn's an alcoholic - the circles under the eyes, the drink in her hand in nearly every scene she's in, minor mood swings especially after she's been drinking, and she sounded like she was slurring slightly in one or two scenes.
d) Jack-Jack's powers only ever seem to be seen whenever Helen goes away - he knows that 'Mama' is gone and that triggers his powers somehow. Though in the short movie 'Jack-Jack Attack' we still got a hint that maybe Korie playing Mozart made him aware of his powers, like she said "Mozart makes babies smarter".
This film is basically Ghostbusters 2.
no BUT DID YOU WATCH THE AFTER CREDITS!!!!
Looking as beautiful as always!
Now I wanna see you react to Chappie for some reason. I don't know why.
Unpopular opinion (this movie is way better than the first one) at least that’s what the great one think
I think the movie is a lot better than people give it credit for
Hi Sophie, just wondering, have you seen Murder Drones? If not, could you please do a reaction if possible? It's a series made by Glitch here on youtube, and it's fricking amazing!
I like your background and did you know Sophie i actually requested you to do incredibles 2
And do paw patrol the movie it so emotional even you’ll 😭 it’s a cute movie
It’s on paramount plus

13:09 In PERMANENT INK 👹
This movie wasn't bad for me, it just lacked creativity. If you watch one after the other, you can't not notice how they are the same exact movie, just changing the father for the mother. Think about that. It's the exact same story to the point of absurd. It removes some mystery though and I don't think the new characters are as good as the originals. But oh well.
22:52 You clearly didn't understand her motivation...
Yes Edna slay💅
Sweet
Elastigirl and Evelyn were in love and nothing will convince me otherwise. The fruit energy was LOUD
"Winston Deavor? his name is weird, I dont trust him"... sister's name literally a play on the words "evil endeavor": no reaction :p
I would actually love to see your reaction the The Last Of Us tbh
Please, watch the Beowulf (2007)
Can you please react to the monsterverse franchise, starting with Godzilla 2014.
Yes, that would dope! Hopefully she decides to watch *Shin Godzilla (2016)* too, even if it's unrelated to the Monsterverse. It's just a great movie :3
I love to see a reaction to those films as well! If I had to guess, she'll probably do those films next year either before or on the same month Godzilla and Kong releases.
24:53
Wait, what are his powers? .... Jack Jack: Yes 🤣
To be fair, the second movie was a long-awaited sequel, itself. At least you aren't taking as long to get to it as Pixar did XD
I never realized that the Devon guy or whatever his name is, is just Saul Goodman.
I miss u!! So much sophie 😢😢 im gonna cry
14:21
For the mind controlling goggles why couldn’t they just close their eyes.
Why does every reactor talk over the line superheroes keep us weak? Not just her all of them
