Avijit Dev 100% agree. I don't know why they changed their rigs.. Their tone over the past decade or two has been absolute garbage. Both live and on record.
Completely agree that if this song came with Puppets people would praise the living fuck out of it, forever classic masterpiece etc. Sometimes brilliant songs get released on the 'wrong' album and it sets them back forever.
+Neonym non sense, black album may not be puppets but to its own it couldn't be any heavier. It's regarded as the most influential album for newer heavy metal bands , it's opened the door for underground metal bands commercially and it's sold like insanely worldwide.

I'm a 48 y.o. Italian woman, I listen to many kinds of music - pop, dance, jazz, fusion, black, country and classic too - but nothing, NOTHING, is as damnly POWERFUL as Metallica music! \m/

Rap is for Apes only. Look at these 'Rappers", or Crappers, as they truly are. Ape like in demeanour, they walk in a shambling, undignified manner, surrounded by beta apes. They cannot speak properly, are devoid of intellect and likely cannot read. All the attributes of Apes-but retarded ones at that. Do not listen to that shit again. It's for Apes.
Walamonga 1313 Just my own, personal preference. Love Sabbath. Love old Metallica. But that riff from Sad But True gets me every single time no matter how many times I listen to it, and if I'm in the car with someone who tries to change the radio station when that comes on, they'll leave with a nub for a hand.
these guys were amazing back in the 90s since then they have been growing lighter...oh well we still have there old albums to treasure and if i have a say i will make sure all my grandchildren know and love metallica! thumbs up if you agree! long live hetfield! rest in peace cliff we all miss you.
I saw these guys at Roanoke Civic Center in Fall of 1991. My first ever concert and never dissappointed with the performance. The venue was small but it was an ALL-NIGHT with Metallica so they played everything. Truely the best I have ever scene.
I wuz at that show, day on the green....faith no more, soundgarden, queensryche, metallica, two words ...STRONG WORK on all bands was a memorable moment.
nickelback is a good band people who hate on them are just doing what everyone else do to be part of society, that cover was perfectly awsome and the band is not bad, Im a more heavy and power metal guy but as a musician I can say they are a good band
Finn - you dont like their music because everyone around you says they dont like their music. You are just another brain doing what everyone around says.
+Daniel Fernandez i'm sorry. Are you trying to tell me what kind of music i like and don't ? Fuck you man! I just think nickleback makes boring music and if other people thought otherwise. I'd still not like it.
Tyler L. Naw he wouldn’t have brought as big as a presence as Jason does, cliff is great and was an amazing bass player but Jason brings this attitude that Metallica had in the 90’s they wouldn’t have had the same kind of grit they had with Jason, they still don’t, robs a good bass player on his songs but when it comes to the Jason stuff nobody holds a candle to him.

This is Metallica. Sad, but true. They rock, and all others can't touch what Metallica can do. Sad, but true. That is why Dave Mustaine was kicked out, not because he was an alcoholic but because he couldn't make what they wanted to do.
Fresh Metallica in my home town and I was there. We ripped that field up. There was chunks of grass everywhere. Even got hit in the face with some.....Goodtimes. \m/

Metallica at its best. The quality of playing was even better when they rised with Puppets and Cliff, but they'll never have a presence like that again.
St Anger had some kickass guitar riffs, and nothing's wrong with Death Magnetic. Well the lyrics are shit and James's voice isn't the greatest but still, some great thrash metal in Death Magnetic.
Wow, that is just amazing. People overlook the black album and say that is when they went “Commercial” but really that only applies to like 2 songs. AMAZING track 🤟🏻
I agree, I love Metallica but their glory days are over. I saw them 3 years ago though and they sounded FANTASTIC! It's sad that watching videos of their recent performances on RUclips doesn't really do them any justice. As far as the new album is concerned though I'm not expecting much. The lyrics on Death Magnetic were forced and cheesy so I'm hoping he starts writing real lyrics again. Then again he's not an alcoholic anymore so it's gonna be hard for him to be as creative...

Great call you guys. This sounds SO GOOD. The guitar and drums are HUGE
You got it, and the drums sounds great too
Avijit Dev True. It's sad tho he blew his vocal cords a little before this show so his voice is a little off in some parts.
Avijit Dev 100% agree. I don't know why they changed their rigs.. Their tone over the past decade or two has been absolute garbage. Both live and on record.
I don't know if anyone agrees, but James looked badass during this era!
No shit, every human being know that.
He looks like a straight up god
Jacob Champoux metallica in general looked bad ass here
Hatfield is god
One of the best looks of the 90’s era for sure , the best cowboy moustache and one of the best mullet ever !
Holy crap the riff is so heavy on this song, hearing it on real life must be just in your face.
Piorun I've seen them 3 times in Australia, every single song sends shivers up my spine. It's unreal
Piorun
Yes. This song hurts live. But it's a good hurt.
You ground must shake at every down stroke
I've seen Metallica a few times. The best show I saw was in Philly 1992. They were so tight, worked well together, and played their hearts out.
Piorun yeah and Lars played amazing in this song.
if this song had come out on on master of puppets or ride the lightning it would be praised to hell and back

Lars needs to get his white drum set back. It fucking rocks.
The new one blows
The white one sounds awesome and it also looks awesome
He will get it back the same day his hair line comes back to normal....

Kirk : sexiness and uniqueness
Lars: craziness
Jason: badass energy
James: power and authority
✌😂🤘🤘🤘
Jason: satan
James: lion
Lars: Jesus
Kirk: jack sparrow
It's hard to believe this song was new when they played it. They asked if we had the new one. Ah, the times.

To me, that opening riff is always the one which all other "heavy riffs" are measured by.
DottyLomax Ever heard of Black Sabbath? If you're talking about Metallica only, isn't The thing that shouldn't be heavier?

DottyLomax I know this is a old comment but
Walk by Pantera
I think harvester of sorrow is heavier
4:34 James' voice went to 96 for a second there
96 ?
This is the Metallica that I know and will remember.
It seems like this would be the perfect theme song for Breaking Bad, the lyrics apply so much.

That snare is like a shotgun being fired!!! I miss that drum sound.
I was at this show. Soundgarden, Faith No More, Queensryche and Metallica. Most epic concert ever!
back when Lars could keep a beat
Dan Gee He can't even keep a beat, he fucks up the triplets in the chorus.
