Marianne Faithfull has survived so much and I find she thinks like me on a few key points... very interesting documentary. Love her raspy rough and real voice. Nothing fake about this woman. Real all the way. Honesty counts.
Brilliant doc. I met Marianne in 1968 when she and Mick Jagger visited Frank Zappa's log cabin in Laurel Canyon, Hollywood. They sat in the kitchen with Frank and his wife Gail. Mick and Marianne were like a double act - he spoke, she spoke, he spoke, she spoke. By contract, Gail never spoke. She sat mute, allowing Frank to hold centre stage. Such a contrast.
The Stones should have paid her for all the damage they have done to her.. - They would not have got so famous if it was not for Marianne Failtfull With rolling stones wild horses & any other songs. -She is an absolute legend. Love her!
Marianne introduced Mick to Real class and culture much the way Jane Asher did for Paul McCartney. He wouldn't be Sir Mick without her contribution to his personal growth. Which I am sure Mick wouldn't admit ANY blessings he had bestowed upon him. The Rolling Stones were virtually broke through the 60's (ripped off) and I'm sure it's one reason why they don't offer thanks (gratitude) or gratuity (charity) to anyone who helped them prosper. Marianne, Mick Taylor,Jimmy Miller and Ry Cooder who called them Bloodsuckers of the highest order. The Beatles kicked Pete Best out of their band just before rising to prominence. John Lennon bought Mr. Best a $40,000 pounds grocery store once he had the extra $$$s. Just a nibble for thought folks.
uugghh... I'm so sick of reading stupid comments on every single Marianne Faithfull video referencing mars bars. It's not true, it's not clever or shocking, everyone has heard the story, get over it!
'She isn't English at all, she comes from this almost Gothic background?'...the English invented the 'Gothic movement' in terms of literature/sensibility.
It's strange (and quite possibly pathetic) the way these people and their hangers-on always talk about themselves and each other as if they are of some import beyond the present moment. Someone once said (was it Lord Balfour?? probably not) that nothing matters very much and very few things matter at all. It is a curse of 'celebrity' that these people can reach late middle-age and still not grasp their own essential insignificance.
3replybiz??? Marianne Faithful is a wonderful singer! And she became far more interesting and creative , when she had departed from the squeaky-clean pop-princess persona! Just listen to "The Ballad Of Lucy Jordan" or "Broken English".
I agree with you insofar as she really couldn't sing very well, when she started as a teenager. It was bland and uninteresting. But I think it's fascinating how she developed into a great Artist!
she was SO beautiful. her eyes are so sweet.
and i think she CAN sing. well, i like her singing. soft and gentle
shes new to me and i love her! her story is new to me,and shes so pretty even now!

I never knew she had such hard times in her 20's. Wow, some friends she had
Her artistic achievements stand up.
I loved her when she started long ago and now I have great respect and admiration for her.
Most amazing voice.

Bullshit, don't lie to yourself.
she is so pretty
I cant believe more people havent discovered her and her music (and her voice). She is more incredible now then she was in the 60s. A rare goddess.
Marianne a famous survivor from the sixties. Glad mind set's healthier for the
time being at least.
She continually inspires me, she continually impresses me, without fail or let, she remains...quite frankly, my most favourite artist.
Great Woman...
Such candour on her part.
MIck was a lost soul without her.. Definitely opened up the "Stones" World..

Right: Why wouldent Mick help Marianne out - especially during the time that she was homeless?!
A true artist who has only gotten better with age.

Back in the day she wasn’t my cup of tea.

Plus it would give us females a Terrible yeast infection ...

She looked innocent but was far from it. Her story is amazing though.

She's very interesting, can't sing for toffee, but that's ok.
