I always feel bad for Kevin and his guys when people start hating. They are extremely talented and are always giving projects on tight deadlines. Sometimes you think you can a project done then things happen out of your control like wrong parts, broke parts or parts people said was available aren't and went on back order ect.. Kevin obsesses over the details and that's exactly what I'd expect on a car of this level. Steve understands and idk why people think they would know better than him.
Were there people hating? It's pretty much common sense you would think but not every shop can do a eagle build in that amount of time they are much smaller shop, not all shops have 10 extremely talented fabricators and welders in fact it's rare that shops have more than two or three guys on that level Kevin still got around the same amount of hours in Steve set 2500 hours roughly and that's what Cameron Johnson race cars estimates for a car 2500 to 3000 depending on level of build.... you got to remember some of these people are just haters living in their mom's basement that want to get a rise out of people...
He claimed 2 months ago he had plenty of time to get it done with time to spare. He even told me a future customer to ,,l,, off when i pointed it out. Thats why he didnt get my build
I just wanna say what an absolute pleasure it is to watch the level of talent and professionalism between these 2 teams! If you guys don't follow Kevin also, your truly missing out! This is just amazing seeing how everything comes together and the fact that Steve is a true realist and called it for the guys! No half assin' happening here! 😊❤
Steve, you're the consummate gentleman! Kevin's RUclips indicated how bummed he was about missing the deadline. The very last thing any of us would want is a rushed job and an accident that could come along with it. GOOD CALL!!!
It is so great to see those young men, with positive solid work ethic, kudos to their parents, their mentors and to them. You don’t see that much with the hand me out generation.
Why?? A 3-5 day class will never get you the decades of experience. Of building race engines. WTH are you talking about??? You actually think in a week you can learn what took SME decades to learn??? You’re an idiot!! You sound nice, but ignorant. Just saying!!!
Ooh yea! That should be a prize! Just to hang shadow with Steve in his shop for a week. (or so) Maybe in that time I could convince him to put me on his pay roll! 😀(Psst, Toolmaker/CNC programmer with 40 years exp and time spent super pro bracket racing) I'm retired now at 61 y/o! Hey! If you don't ask, it won't happen. Guaranteed.
KSR is a great channel and a true quality work horse. Good call. No reason to half BLANK it and get Val hurt. Make it good and safe. There will always be another test day and race.
I love KSR as well as Steve's program. These are good people giving good knowledge to boot. Please like guy's so often see thousands of views and no likes why just click so easy. Also These programs are like the most informative hard working best channels you could ask for especially if you have worked on and or driven a car on the track before. You can use a lot of this knowledge yourself on a rebuild or a father son rebuild or build. Seriously sadly seems the best programs get the shaft and the Benny Hill sort of speak programs get all the attention. If your old enough you'll understand my point anyway please give a like it isn't hard. Much Love for Steve and his Family and friends as well as KSR. God Bless be safe and keep making America Great Again. These people are what makes our country Great!!!
Car is looking awesome! Best part of the channel is when Steve “pauses” to think. Every time he does that I see the gears turning. You guys content is always educational and entertaining. 👍
I love how you guys all give it all you had to get it ready. Even though you came up a little bit short I think it's the right move to step back and take some time with the rest of the finishes. I think you'd be much happier in the long run. Kevin's crew you and Kyle definitely give it your all. Absolutely love the collaboration between your two companies.
Guys it doesn't matter what people are saying if this was easy everyone will have a 5 street car. Steve and Kevin and his team are experts on this area. People shut up let work if they did not finish on time who cares since Kevin OCD he will rather not finish on time and have a perfect product.
Do once do it right and don’t rush it, I totally understand how this works. I have worked in the aerospace industry for decades and have seen how corporate comes up with unrealistic deadlines that can never be met and they are never the ones pulling all nighters.
Deadlines are cool and all. It puts the project into perspective and creates a goal. But I will never sacrifice the quality of what I'm doing for a deadline. And I'm not even playing with 4000hp race cars. I'm just playing with these silly little hot rods and show cars.
Can't wait to see Mrs Morris put it on the chip and let it rip! Stellar content as usual and kudos to ksr for building such a beautiful beast of a Camaro!
Great team work guys... better to not rush it and make sure the car is 100% right before your wife get in it... happy Thanksgiving to you and your family steve...
Assuming Ned’s Viper or possibly something from Jeff Lutz is the top secret SMX back for sick week. Awesome job representing Sick Week. For sure SM Engine will be winning.
Builds always take more time. Get it right, don't rush. Same with us winter garage tinkerers. Things are planned to take so long and they always go over. Rebuilding a trans right now, thought it would be all apart right now and so far just have the case off... Just haven't had enough time.
Kevin, it is ONLY 1130 miles from Gainesville to Steve's place!! If you need a co-driver, I will go with ya. I drove OTR for 17 1/2 years and managed to NEVER run anyone over!
Jumped over here after seeing Kevin's channel. I think you made the right call. Better safe then sorry.byou start really pushing and something is going to go wrong and someone could get hurt.(Murphys law)
Ok great call the time and money in a project such as this no one needs to be to tired and make a mistake or worse get hurt. This car will be going way too fast to be falling apart because of trying to work in a fatigued condition. We all know the late nights at the track or the shop. Sometimes gets us in trouble you can miss a little thing and destroy a racecar. These are race cars no two alike! You guys are among the best at this art you see how hard they work to make these cars SAFE and just unbelievably fast. Smart thinking is the only way to do this and we all know how well we think when we are tired. When you’re putting family in a car like this you make dam sure it’s right.
Still feeling the Camaro is going to be 3250 by the time it's complete with glass windows, motors, fluids, etc. Should weigh it when it''s completely done and we'll insist that Dewey signs off on the weight certification. No shenanigans will be afforded when the shop foreman's paw print is on the line. LOL Cheers!

Only thing about that location for the tank is it is in direct line of the passenger tires. So in the rare instance where you get a big leak from it somehow going fast it could get dicey quick once oil gets on the tires. Very unlikely and i get that space is tight. That car is bad ass.👍

Got a question about drag and drive events. Do you just leave your big race trailer and hauler at the first track or do you have a driver to drive it to each track?
@veto8792 thanks. Say you had other family members or friends that traveled with you from out of town, they would need another car or rental if they wanted to watch you race each track? From what I understand they can't haul parts , tools or help though correct?
@ Yes that is correct, as long as they aren’t helping. Chase cars are NOT allowed. However, Alex Taylor is a perfect example. Her mom and sister follow them from track to track in a separate vehicle for filming and moral support but they aren’t involved with the actual race car.
I know you and Val were disappointed! However Kevin and his guys have really put a lot of work in it and it is obvious that they feel horrible about it not being done!!!!
Great video I'm going to Kyles channel now to check out testing getting cold here in Kansas putting SM sweatshirts to good use now. I think you are right to hold off testing Val's car it would be a rush and bad things could happen. Safe travels Happy Thanksgiving!

dry sump = separate oil tank. More: capacity, flow rate, and clearance under engine.
Pretty sure that is what I said.

Would be there all the way from Oregon!
I know you and Val were disappointed! However Kevin and his guys have really put a lot of work in it and it is obvious that they feel horrible about it not being done!!!!
Now Kevin gets to visit us in Michigan in December, or maybe better yet January! 😃
*Wise decision*
You put the motors all together because the customer trust your skills better then their own lol 😊
Great video I'm going to Kyles channel now to check out testing getting cold here in Kansas putting SM sweatshirts to good use now. I think you are right to hold off testing Val's car it would be a rush and bad things could happen. Safe travels Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving To the Morris family and All the Followers.
Bring it to PRI Show in Indy. It's on the way
SME is cool. KSR is cool. Haters should just watch something else.
Right? I can’t believe some of these keyboard warrior comments. I hope their mom’s basements are comfy lol
