Steve, it’s unreal how truly blessed we all are to have so many amazing friends. I really mean that. I’m incredibly thankful for everyone that has helped me or my family and friends. Thank you for everything and supporting.
Thanks for stopping by buddy!!! It was awesome to meet ya!
Hey love your shop and I followed the build for the old man's cage. It is just great to see a bunch of guys doing such quality work
Jason you are such a blessing to the car community in so many ways. 🙏🏻
That was such an honor racing you steve. I can't believe i took you out of competition. You're definitely a good sport
You fucked up Craig, beating Steve I have a feeling you and your whole family is going down O'Doyle!!!!
Hey Steve. I just started working at a second generation engine shop formerly owned by drag racing champion Bill Reichert. Current owner is my long time friend Jmo. Jamison Griffin. And my cousin also is his right hand man. Slyfox racing on you tube. Jmo is part of nostalgia drag racing and currently runs a 1400 hp blown small chevy. Shop is located in Owosso MI. We machine most engines . Custom and stock. Thanks Steve !
I love Dewey
The tin soldier boys deserve the absolute best.
Those tin soldier guys are cool dudes.
Finally at age 65
I have the time , money and energy to build and race my favorite car.
Until now it's been all work just to keep up with unnecessary inflation for decades
Good luck sir.
And increasing heath care premiums. I feel like that alone has offset any raises I have gotten over the last 10 years.
I’m 68 but unfortunately can’t do much of anything anymore due to an on the job back injury that put me into retirement. Oh well.
@danmyers9372
I've been on disability since 2009
Its a mess out there.
Doing my best to get by
Same here.
The younger generation is struggling with the prices of things.there is no money left for racing
We all know how to change the situation this country is in....
Racing is expensive as you want it to be.
I ran small V8 asphalt oval track for the cost of having a second " go to work " car. Cars at that level don't need aftermarket gauges, a hot light and oil pressure light work just fine. Stock column shifter is just fine too for an automatic transmission.
If the cost of living wasnt so dang high we'd be able to actually work on our cars like you guys have. We dont have the experience yet to charge as much as you guys currently do for any work you do
Then go after the companies who are gouging us with high prices as they see record increases in profit, we have the best Economy in the world, it seems a lot of you forgot about the Pandemic that this Administration was handed, unless you do your own Due Diligence you probably have no idea of the things this Administration has done for the Country because fox and MSM won't show you, you sit and listen to the lies 24/7 and it's only human nature that you will believe it, it took a friend to show me were to look for the truth, I was pretty pissed off when I realized I was being lied to just to get my vote, here's a question that was asked to me " why are you supporting the same guy who the Neo- Nazis and every hate group in the Country is supporting " I also had a talk with my Daughters and listened to there concerns, him and his family stole from a Cancer Charity for Children, I also listened to the people who he picked to work with him WH including several Generals and Admirals over 100 who said he will destroy the Country including his past VP, he doesn't care about us or the Country, I've been were you are he doesn't care about anything but himself, stop watching fox and do your own Due Diligence you only have a few days left.

Love the video Steve. Thank you for showing support for the little guys.
Dewey is such a good boy❤
The greatest generation brought us many things, to include racing. After WWII, the significant number of trained mechanics needed something to do. Couple this with the increase in wealth after the war and many things were created or improved. Racing was one of the many things improved. Unfortunately, many of those things are dying right along with the greatest generation. It's really sad.
Couldn't of put it any better. Absolutely well said. Good on you.
Well said
Charlie Brown and the wagon gotta happen!!!
It's great to see the push for help on grassroots racing. Not everybody can afford a six-figure race car.
Honestly Steve Morris and Jason Terrell talking shop was awesome.
My opinion two of the nicest people in the business.
Thank you for sharing.
Tin Soldiers has a nice shop. Very big and clean. Thank you for the tour of their shop!!! That is a very nice Trailblazer!!!
Glad to see Dewey with his family. Great Blazer. Thanks for supporting this cause and taking us to Tin Solders'
The racing/car community is fucking great. Thank you for supporting and sharing sir!!!
Thanks for supporting the little guys, there back bone of racing leading up to SMR engines in time.
I want to see the Wagon and Charlie run, that would be epic!
These guys are all amazing,so down to earth and knowledgeable......the racing world is in good hands with these guys.I live in the wrong part of the country.
One of the many reasons Steve is such a smart guy, always looking to the future and thinking big. Bill and everyone else from SRC are great people too. Wish i could work in a shop like Steve's though, I am the definition of grassroots racing cause i could never afford to pay anyone to do all the work i do on the race cars. Being a true gearhead is a lifestyle u live everyday not just a job, Been a mechanic all my life and specialize in wiring, tuning, programming and all the other stuff most techs run from lol. Just like Steve and other good builders i am always learning and trying to get ideas from other peoples setups.
Thanks for taking us along on this one, Steve. It was different being laid back and just having some fun with sharing the difficulties the sport is facing with the 'old guys' reaching the twilight years. That Mastiff makes Dewey look like a puppy. Have a great weekend. Cheers!
Love you guys! One of my favorite families!
Steve, Val, and Dewey, y'all rock! ❤ Peace
...loved seeing your support for this cause !...
Engine shops closing:
The bread and butter of the traditional automotive machine shop has been machining day to day " people motors " . Today, engines generally go the life of the vehicle or there is a supply of used motors out there. My go to shop rebuilds parts for rail cars as a way to fill the gap. The son has taken over the shop but two of his workers have retired leaving him to do all of the work. Another shop is overloaded with work but the 75 year old owner and 70 year old worker can't find anyone to fill the void.
Very nice you participated at Edgewater...Great to support a track with so much history...I raced there years ago many times...32 Ford 5 window and later 32 Rockne coup
Steve, Thank you for supporting my Friend Bill and His Family. Great People and Great Channels. 😎🤙
Save the local and family owned tracks! The more of the tracks close, the more history we lose that we will never get back!! Bill, Tom, Steve, and the Street Racing channel crew did an awesome job!!
Great content Steve, Tin Soldiers and Old Man's Garage are such a cool bunch. Cheers from New Zealand.
I have a neighbor that has three of those big mastiffs. I called them the three stooges. They are huge!
Steve i live in Louisiana now but Edgewater was the track i went to for years !!! thanks for helping them
Gotta love Dewey and Val!
They are the best.
This was the best vacation ever! I am grateful to have made the trip. This was an epic weekend!
Hi Steve Morris thank you for sharing 🤗
Thank you gentlemen for helping tracks stay open Sacramento Raceway closed-door last year
Used to bracket race my stock 1994 S10 SS. On a sportsman tree my best RT was 0.006 foot breaking (normal RTs were 0.0something). Raced that darn truck in drive and it was super consistent.
Dewey for President!!! 💯👍
It's not too late.
It's very important to support you local race track everyone is living the dream ✨️
Start a school at your shop teaching people how to build hot rod motors like you build. Charge the students and give diplomas. Train interns in your shop to gain experience.
I’m getting there.
Bill busted his backside to get that event up and going.. He is an amazing competitor/fan/father and this sport need MORE folks like him and his family. Society needs to stop giving children 'screens' and bring them out to the garage and outside in general.. go have fun, there is plenty of time later to play inside.
It’s bitter sweet hearing “you’d be surprised how many few entries there are” from Steve. On the one hand you think, “jeez there’s a REAL possibility I could win it!” Then on the other hand “dang I hope Steve isn’t losing his behind on this giveaway!”
I was there and competing in your class. Foot braking. I have a 4l80, I actually stage in 2nd gear with a timing offset that acts as a Rev limiter. Pb 60' of 1.36. Launching at 2900 rpm and 11 psi of boost. When I left off the brake it auto shifts back to first gear.
👍🏽🇺🇸👍🏽 awesome video Steve glad to see you helping out grass roots racing. Thank you.
My last car, ‘13 Camaro, I foot brake’d. Slightly worked over to focus on drag racing. 1000’s of passes. 3 class championships in 4 years. 1 runner up. 2 championships in the same season (2 different classes). Average RT .027.
.400 ProTree ?
@ I actually spent a whole season red lighting. I knew what ‘my’ reaction time was. I had to make the car fit with me. Had to mess with my Circle D converter a lot. Front shocks to spend a little more time lifting instead of the car moving forward. I was bracket racing so I just excepted that I was running 1/2 a second slower than possible. I didn’t care how fast I just wanted it to do the same thing over and over. To keep it simple, nothing to forget to turn on, I put the two step switch in the actual brake pedal. Slightly towards the left. That way normal driving, braking with the right foot, everything normal. Brake with the left, two step. Mess with RPM it was about the same as leaving on a trans brake.
Won most my races based off of RT and the fact I was usually the slower car. All the others racers got word of my RT’s had to watch me drive off, most got anxious and red lighted. Very rarely had to settle it at the stripe.
Great content thanks for sharing
Great video Steve really enjoyed the talk with Jason from Tim Solider.
Thanks for sharing Steve
Great video!! Again
I graduated 50 years ago. The teachers were on the bandwagon to go to college college college. No push the trades and schools have fazed those programs out. Today we have hamburger flipping college graduates and guess what we are short of plumbers, carpenters, etc etc. The Hispanic people are filling in those gaps that started 50 plus years ago. Don’t forget to go to college. Burger King and all of those companies are always hiring. Fill in your app on-line.
I grew up working for engine machine specialist when they shut down I went to aerospace. I’ve been in aerospace for 21years and would love to go back to building race engines.
Man that looks like a fun event. I need to win that Blazer so I can do a few of these events. Thanks for taking us with you and showing us your side of things.
Excellent episode Steve Morris 👍
I bought a zip hoodie and it arrived today. Wore it to Cincy Street Nights.
Praying for the lucky entry For that beautiful ss blazer I will be jumping for joy if I get to meet you and have a car with one of your engines in it
Good to see you racing the blazer.
Tin soldiers place is cool! I need to catch up on there RUclips aswell!
Besides Cleatus you are my number too most informative videos I've ever seen in my life
I use a foot brake 2-step setup but I put a switch on the brake pedal as the brake light switch was way too slow to react. So just arm it and slide your foot to the left and launches instantly.
The hypocrisy of a guy who capitalizes on viewership in every way and sells engines for 10s of thousands of dollars claiming its a dying sport. Of course it is since every company related to the sport raised prices 10 fold over the last decade under the veil of the most convenient excuse. Not even mentioning "family friendly" is another form of censorship.
Thanks
🤙✌👍
You should do a 50/50 race with Tin for charity. 50 goes to he winner 50 gives to a charity of the winner choice .
Very cool. I follow both you guy's.
Really enjoy watching Steve
I’m going to have to learn so much when I win the trailblazer 😊
Awesome video, thanks Steve.
That looks like a lot of fun. Very nice video.
Dang didnt know Tim stopped building chassis.
16:51 kilo on the seat 😉🤣🤣🤣
At my track the sportsman class top qualifiers are running from perfect light to .018, and sometimes on the wrong side.
It's a .400 Pro tree though.
I wonder if there is such a thing as co-op race track group. One thing that is not helping the engine/machine shop situation is newer stuff is designed to be replaced instead of rebuilt. The throw away generation of everything not just cars.On the under/overspending subject my tire shop I use usually recommends the middle tier tires for the average customer. But if a vehicle needs a certain spec tire she will recommend the correct tires.
Yeah, true, even Bradenton is being encroached on by housing development..... Garret was in court because of this and, they are not stopping, how long until guys are forced to take it to the streets.... This is a serious problem... Good on you Steve.
"HMFIC" Muahuhauhauahuahuah
Great you took Dewey with😊
That was a huge dog! His hips are shot though, hope he isnt in too much pain. Walkin a little funny
Just watched Cleets video…that big block you put together for mullet is one bad unit!!! Just wish the new eagle build had your SMX in it, is what it is though
Yeah me too, but it is different kind of engine
@ Yeah it shouldn’t have any common valve train problems like pistons bending valves or anything like that huh lol After watching the import boys destroying engines there’s definitely a need for a XSSMX (XS as in extra small) 4 cylinder engine or SM2JZ lol… Maybe some day
I would take Dewey before I took the car. That is one loving dog.
We got a long road ahead of us America, we win!
That's a great SUV, if you're not getting enough people can't you extend the contest, ask the people if they are alright with it, you shouldn't have to lose money.
Gotta be rich to race any of these cars.
Back in my bracket day, I always left on the last yellow to get a good reaction time. Idk how it works today though...
It is a Pro tree all the lights come on at same time.
You need to be talking to Brett from PFI. Important cars are your answer to this.
The foot brake reaction... is just leaving off the yellow blubs, some get off the brake as soon as they see the first yellow drop.
This was a .400 ProTree all light come on at same time
Ahh ya, Pro tree.
You can get apps or displays to have fun with practising the tree release.
Or a good practical test, go find a stop light somewhere that isn't a busy 3 or 4-lane, and practice that Red to Green. Most times you can see when the cross lanes are turning Red and then you can get ready to go on the Green drop.
However, do watch out for people running the Red.
Im glad the indians .saved Atmore Dragway😊
Thats hilarious to hear someone say turn on the ol dope light lmao bahahahhaha
I hope I win the Blazer lol. I had a real Grand National before... It was stolen before I could get it to run 9's in the quarter... My dad was buying them when they were new. I know every nut and bolt on those cars... I even know about the only GNX with what they called an astro roof. A guy bought a Grand National and took it to ASC and had them install the GNX package on it. It has everything but the numbered badge.
On a side note, I want to build a production car... When I meet you in person, I'll share the idea with you.
AS always - totally enjoyed the vid.
A guy that used to have a custom car shop down the street from me would do free classes for kids. He said he even got some government funding to do it
dang steve thats some fun
So true,I run into that everyday, love to bill true hours
Time 324
Steve: How many cars are signed up right now?
Other guy : I can't tell you.
Steve: It's OK, you can tell me, I'm a Doctor. . . .
Hey Steve you need to see what parts of yours he could market for you. Expand your horizons.:)
Steve's releasing the info about his younger youth. The dope light must be a Michigan name
I can't believe how awesome this is!
8:31 when you say to somebody "hey! you drive like a dog!"
As a former machinist I will say the majority of the reason a lot of us got out was pay. Everyone wants to promise the world but never deliver. Can’t make $12 an hour to train the whole building and be told there is no money to pay after you know damn well last month was a million dollar month. Just my 10cents. Never got into automotive. Was a tool and die maker and naval nuclear machinist.
Agree fully with you pay is a huge part and other side is equipment. Majority of these machine shops have 50 year old machines that are worn ouy......
I know of a shop for sale today. Building is 10K sq ft. Equipment ranges 35 to 50 years old. Asking price with customer list $380K.
Hey Steve great content as always. We been wondering why we haven't seen a lot of Kyle in your videos. I did a little searching he has his own channel. Never knew. Definitely subscribed and will check it out.
What the real problem is that things have got so expensive not many people have the money to do it anymore if things can change for the better and get the economy turned back around maybe people will have the money to get back into racing
I watch and like every one of your videos and I actually love watching them my wife said you won't win but I told her I am still getting a shirt LOL
This collab is pure gold!
Dog people got my respect
Steve’s Used car salesman tactics, are on key.
He’s missing a cow.. to really make it over the top
Call Junior Samples Used Cars at BR-549
You tube has chosen to hide my post about the tag line Junior Sample uses for his used car lot so you will have to look it up on your own.
If I had the money/backing I'd love to get out heavy equipment/ Dragline Operator to operate track.
