after Tahiti, try other Societe Island for visit (Morea, Bora Bora...). if you want magnific dives, go to Tuamotu Island. the best is Fakarava, but Rangiroa and Tikehau are very beautiful too.

#askmark. I am thinking about buying a steel tank but can’t get a good answer on why I should or shouldn’t get a hot dip tank. What’s the difference beyond cost?

They're not very popular here in the UK, I don't think I've ever used or seen one here.
The main point of hot-dipping is to coat the outer surface of the steel cylinder with a zinc shell to prevent corrosion. It's a more robust and more expensive version of painting cylinders.
It can still be scratched and lead to rust forming. But rust that leads to a cylinder failing a test usually comes from the inside not the outside. As long as you look after a painted cylinder it can last for years and years

What's the best way to get there?

Airplane, it's a long way to swim.
It depends where you're starting, you should find flights from LA, San Fran, Tokyo, Etc.
