Very informative, great video dude. I really want one of those DX reels. Thinking about a 3000 size paired with a light six foot rod for inshore fishing.
Brad, when do the cow nose rays normally move out of the area? I spent all my time yesterday between 2 nice pomp’s having to tie up new dropper rigs. Never did get a ray to the shore or I would’ve tried eating it.
Thanks for doing educational videos👍👍it really helps guys like me who only get to surf fish 1-2 times a year. I also prefer to cut triangles in my fish bites. Haven't tried fishgum looks like I may be missing out on a good bait.
I notice that your rods and lots of rods used on the Gulf State Park Pier have pretty long handles from the real to the but of the pole. Why is this ? Most rods up here in WI the handles are much shorter. ( except for some rods set up for trolling on Lake Michigan. ) I was thinking I should get two new set-ups for when I go to Gulf Shores in August and not quite what I should get that would be good for not only surf, but for the pier. Thanks and LOVE the videos.
They’re longer to help with the balance of the rod. If you want something by for the pier abs surf, I’d get an 8’ or 9’ rod. Star Stellers are great rods and affordable
Thanks for this great video!! I fish freshwater and now going to try surf fishing here in Florida!! What is the best times to fish?? (early morning before people head to the beach?...) Also, are there any restrictions and laws pertaining to the times you can surf fish? Do you have to stop surf fishing at any time?
Cool video. I went surf fishing a couple of weeks ago and used my musky gear since I needed something to cast those three to four oz weights. Caught a buch of whiting and a ray. What a blast. I found myself having to wade way out to get to the happy fishing grounds. Any thoughts on wading and fishing in the surf? I never see anyone doing it on any surf fishing videos. Anyways, excellent video.
I'm going to try fishing from the surf in a couple days ! Thanks for making this video! I bought a penn wrath combo. It only has an 8 foot rod. Will this be an alright rig to get started with?
Just want to say I really enjoy all your content and love watching the videos I’m trying to teach my grandkids about surf fishing but we live in Georgia about 5 hrs from the Ocean what are the best Pompano rig that you use besides Saltys?
Hey Bearded Brad. I wanted to thank you for the help you gave me when trying to figure out the parking machines at the pier a couple of weeks ago. I had a really good trip down to the coast. I caught 14 keeper Pompanos, 3 Bull Redfish over 32 inches, 12 sharks and countless other fish from the beach. I also caught 10 Spanish Mackerel from the pier. Love the videos!
Brother. Whats the chances of us getting some of those rigs and fish bites here in South Africa? Fish gum is such a great product its not like using stinky sardine and you stink all day long. I would immigrate to the States just for the fishing surf beaches etc
@@BeardedBrad92 thanks buddy appreciate the feedback. Love the channel bud. No nonsense no BS just good honest content. Oh and just and FYI i am also a HUGE Penn fan

Thank you - just subscribed, great content!

I won’t get down till the last full week of June this year. Will the pomps still be running then?
There will still be some around
Was fishing at gulf shores for a whole week and caught one whiting on my last day :/
How come your Penn Battle 3000 DX doesn’t have the power handle handle . Mine came with one and I love it .

Yes sir, that’ll get it done! Longer rods are just to help cast further, but 8’ will be fine to get started
@@BeardedBrad92 Thanks I appreciated it!
Awesome video!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks bro!
Driving down in 3 weeks to fish for a week. Just bought some fishgum from ninja tackle. How do you cook pompano?
I like to blacken it.
Digging the outtakes haha
Thanks!

All the above
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.
Get good scrub.
