I grateful for reading his books and learning so much! And also, for having a glimpse of him in this video clip, despite the intention of the people who made this possible. Thank you, Castaneda!
Sorcerers are dreamers or stalkers. Warriors are precision warriors. We divide our attention between the power or precision of any act or thought or feeling. ordinary people increase their power or effort to get a goal, achieve a target; whereas sorcerers baffle people by getting a goal with increasing precision -- something don Juan called 'intent'.
I'm deaf so I'm really grateful that they had a sign language interpreter- or I would have thought it was just a bunch of old people getting into a car- which in itself is kind of spooky & mysterious (you never see old people climbing into cars anymore).
Entheogens have been known to cause psychotic reactions in people who haven't used them yet. Similarly Castaneda's writings has been known to produce psychotic reactions in people who haven't read him yet.
I dont know too much about this guy . never read his books. For some reason I avoided them. I would tell friends and fam about spiritual experiences I was having and they would say I should read this guy's books. For some reason something has told me not to . Why is that u think ? Could it be because I am stubborn sometimes ?
It doesnt matter, for the people who hast read his books READ IT, and for those who has already read it Take the best, enjoy the lecture, dont need to follow like idiots, he left his books for everybody and his a good writer sold millions, there is other good writers too! If he died, died if not no, thats his life he was free to believe and did what he loved, thats the only thing that really matter!!!!!!
I believe that Castaneda was left in utter disbelief that he wouldn't move on with his own party into the third attention; he even attempted suicide after Don Juan left for his definitive journey.
Apparently Castaneda was not fond of the ppl who filmed this clip, which is why they filmed him, out of petty spite, & dug through his trash. i'm amazed by the reactions of some of those ex-members. hadn't they read Castaneda's books? Why go spying on the man & digging in his "trash"(i reckon the ppl living there would have definitely known what was going on).
Don Juan later learned, well after The Teachings was published, that Carlos was not the Nagual, and that it was intended that Carlos 'tell' humanity about the possibilities that are out there. His energetic configuration was incorrect: he did not have four chambers, only three within his energetic body. It's funny how all of his detractors focus only on what was scantily available based upon his few public appearances and one-on-one interactions since the days Don Juans party left the Earth.
Judging by the content of his books, i'd have expected nothing but extreme strangeness from him, & would hope to take responsibility for my own deflated ego when everything didn't click into place just-so. If those ppl believed in his writings, they should know that absolutely nothing is what it seems. If they didn't believe, why were they trying to be involved? For attention? They were lost & weak? Castaneda saved them from themselves & they don't even know it.
He like most ju ju men didn't want to be filmed for a reason, they wanted to erase their personal past. Now these dickheads had to play this game. His books are what changed my life and they will live forever.
Narayana480, Read Amy Wallace's excellent book, The Soccerer's Apprentice. She was there, for over 20 years and she knew Castaneda well. He was excellent at creating fantasies but not much else. Her experience and her detailing of Castaneda's fraud have all the ugly signs of a cult. When a 'leader' claims to be 'the only way to freedom' for their followers, gives you a new name, new identity, and eventually gets into your pants as well, you have a cult. Manson was very good at it.

It's perfectly possible to influence people to the point where death itself seems just like a step forwards - so, we all know it's possible that these women comitted suicide. It's just that we don't actually know that they did, do we? So far, three disappeared, one was found dead in unusual circumstances - but even the police haven't said PP committed suicide, as far as I know - could just as easily have been misadventure in the desert. Beware jumping to conclusions or 'confirmation bias'.
Well, one wonders... I hope those women didn't commit suicide - and to do so would be contrary to CC's own teaching. In the end, a sinister sound track, gossip, putting 2 and 2 together to make 5 can even make a haircut seem sinister. Yeah, sometimes it is, as in Heaven's Gate - but Buddhist Monks all have the same haircut too. In the end, all we really have is gossip about the man. Even the claim that those women committed suicide is only gossip. Well - let's hope so.
joe you couldn't be more wrong don jauns teaching needs to be tested by the every day world to keep it honest and if you understand the discipline needed you would see it works
he made up the books and was, especially in later life, a terrible human being it's good to respect him as an amazing writer, but also good to avoid being an apologist for a selfish manipulator with a napoleonic complex
Cult, cult, cult. If you are put off by such videos as these, you are missing something of incomparable value. I can only think that people who professionally call Castaneda a fraud are just manifestations of the predator.
I agree. There is so much misunderstanding around Carlos. But some one with his level of genius is almost always slandered by the media propaganda moguls who fear his message because they are not aware enough to understand it. Carlos created his own syntax and attempted to describe the indescribable spirit of existentialism. He out shines most. It is a shame people don't read his work with an open mind.

I only know that I have been comforted by his books all my adult life.And if I could get a message to him? Id say thank you old soul. :)

Take what works, leave what you do not need.
@inertialcapacity could u elaborate a bit more?
I'm deaf so I'm really grateful that they had a sign language interpreter- or I would have thought it was just a bunch of old people getting into a car- which in itself is kind of spooky & mysterious (you never see old people climbing into cars anymore).
That's one of the smartest things I've ever read. Thank you for having a brain.
This video seems authentic enough to me. Really looks like a 70 yr Carlos.
Now that is an interesting point...

@joeBLOG5
you have posted the same comentary on several more videos. why?

Read Amy Wallace's book about C.C.

So did Jesús Christ have women with him. Was he also evil?

You do not know what you are talking about. So don't.

Carlos was a fraud.
Not at all.
