I painted my guest room in Modern Gray and it gives Sand Dune vibes. And I love it.
I used this in my house before we sold it and I LOVED it! It was so beautiful in that house.
I JUST had much of my house painted in Modern Gray. I mean like, 2 days ago! I think I found this video a bit too late. It is a pretty and soft color, but in all my samples I never noticed a pink undertone. I'm glad I'm not crazy that on the wall, I do see it now. Just a hint. My husband also commented about its "wicked shadows." I was hoping for a bit more beige than I got. However, if you like blue art or green colored art, it would look amazing with this paint color!

I just wanted to say I've had the MG now for 3 weeks and have seen it in all lights and I love it. I was skeptical at first. It is very light and sometimes looks almost off white, other times, a hint of beige. I have it in east and west facing rooms. :-)
I just painted my Moms living/dining room & hallway in Modern grey…I really love it BUT I am having a heck of a time coming up with a coordinating color to paint the kitchen now ( white upper & natural maple lower cabinets ) it’s driving me insane……I paid for a consult but then my husband decided to put in all new cabinets, so what Kylie suggested, never went thru…super frustrating…oh well, it’s a beautiful color…the LV/DN has an all east facing window wall….very pretty

Yes! I’ve been waiting for this so thank you. I think I have officially decided on Modern Gray for my open concept home. I have tried a bunch of samples and MG is coolest I can go with my northern exposure, beige corian countertops and warm/dark wood laminate floors.
I love to hear that Tess, sometimes we just need that little push, which is usually given with INFO and insights!

I have Modern Gray in my west-facing master bathroom with one window and LED daylight light bulbs. I see the pink undertone almost all hours of the day, but I think I might be super sensitive to pink and purple undertones. (Clarifcation: I have Marshmallow in my guest bath, and love the red/pink undertone there). I still have not selected a paint color for painting my honey oak cabinets to pair Modern Gray with my beige tiles. Finding that Modern Gray likes pairing with colors with pink or purple undertones, or no undertone. Pink undertone flashes loudly with any saturated colors (greens, teals, blues). Having analysis paralysis between aesthetic white, incredible white, or Urbane Bronze. Probably going to flip a coin at this point. 😆

Thank you for your channel, Kylie! I learn so much! It seems as if the effect of east-facing light rarely gets mentioned. Does it not have very much effect on most paint colors? In the house we will build this year, the majority of light in the living and dining rooms will be morning east-facing light. Thank you!
Hi Kimberly! It definitely does! I don't mention it as much, as like West-facing light, it changes so drastically throughout the day. HOWEVER, if you go to my blog and in the search (right-hand side) type in 'exposure', you'll see many blog posts, several of them on your exposure!

so this color looks great in my west facing room. Issue is I now need a complimentary lighter color for my east facing room w/ less light, anybody paint w/ this color , and can offer suggestions..The rooms flow into each other but there is a good line of demarcation so no shared wall due to staircase
Hi! We're looking at Modern Gray for the foundation color in our house. The main area of this is our north-east facing living room. I've moved a samplize piece of Modern Gray all around there and it looks pretty good. However, we do have antique white for the trim and floors that lean more orange-y. I'd love a warm gray/taupe in this space - is there another you would suggest we look at if the pink will battle the yellow/orange. We're not spending the money to repaint all the trimwork -

Hi Kylie, I am so confused after buying many samples. We just spent $ on James Hardie lap siding and shingles. My grays I chose were too blue or too brown. I want a light gray for the siding and stucco and a darker gray on the shingles ( two peaks). Can you please help. We have an EL DORADO Nantucket stone a quarter way up the walls on the front. Hope you can help me. It is so hard to choose an exterior color. Thank you. Desperate. Marie

Look at you, you're GOOD! It's actually VERY VERY similar, as my walls are Benjamin Moore Balboa Mist!
@@KylieMInteriorsPaint Balboa mist comes up so much more pink for me tho. And purple a bit. Modern gray is pretty calm with undertones and I'm very sensitive to pink, lavender etc undertones.

Yes, absolutely, as long as it jibes with any stone/brick work. The GREAT thing is that it often DOES work with many of the popular stonework on the exterior of homes.

I have edgecomb gray cabinets I was thinking of painting my walls modern gray but after watching this video I'm scared they won't look good together. Will the two different undertones clash?
I'm GLAD you watched this video - I wouldn't do it! They're really TOO similar in depth and the undertones could be a bit iffy as well. A colour like BM Revere Pewter (you might need to darken it by 25%) could fit a bit better, perhaps? Something to start with anyways - it's a good depth.

Do you have any reviews on any of the neutral SW Emerald Designer colors? Thinking of using White Snow or Gypsum (Whites) while pairing with Guild Grey, Touch of Grey, or Solstice (Tints). Thank you.

I second that request, I like the neutral pallate of emerald design colors but no reviews on them online , It would be so awesome to have review from Kylie on those since I love how accurate her information is, I can totally understand everything she explains, and I chose to subscribe her after seeing multiple designers review video, she is amazing!!
The house I bought has modern gray woodwork everywhere the walls are too dark...slandering. could I go to a white shade on walls? Don't care for dark house.
Well, it SOUNDS like you could. The more modern gray wash is often a violet undertone, meaning you'll want to pick some of that up in the walls, usually a warm soft gray or taupe could be interesting! As for white, Snowbound is a lovely one :).
