I just had my living room area painted in City Loft and I love it. Very classy. I'm so glad I didn't go with a creamy white. Thank for this video. I found the comparison to other colors very useful. As you tell people, the white paints are tricky. In any case, this one really filled the bill because the lighting in my living room is complex, to include light bouncing off the exterior brick. I'm enjoying seeing the different undertones as the light changes. All are nice. My previous colors were in the yellow and tan-beige, which I didn't like.

Jacob, thank you for shedding some light on the art of selecting paint colors. We are in the plumbing phase of our new build. But I’m struggling. Open floor plan. Main floor living (family room , (sunroom-opens to E,S & W exposure) & master are south facing Kitchen is in the middle with island dividing the family room. Floor to ceiling two story family room. City loft seems fresh and airy. Will it be too light for floor and ceilings? (Painter will do both the same color). The family room has a covered porch directly off of it so the southern light is not harsh. Beautiful western afternoon light through two windows around the fireplace. All windows/ doors with windows on back of house. (House on the water) My husband says I have developed a “problem” with my concern and energy spent over the choice. Lol. I tell him it’s all about undertones!! SOS Overwhelmed off the east coast in VA and a fan, Tammi 😊
Hi there:) First, thank you for your kind words. It's hard to give you 100 percent confidence if you're making the right choice with SW City Loft. So many factors at play, especially when it comes to fixed elements and the interior design layout of your home. SW City Loft for the ceiling and wall is not a light paint color if your ceiling is 9ft or lower, but it can lean on the lighter side if you have tall ceilings and if you have a spacious floor plan. I love love City loft and Agreeble gray. I have pretty high ceiling and very open living room, dining room and kitchen. 2 walls of City Loft look so neutral that a royal blue sofa looks good with yellow pillows. Agreeble gray on the other 2 walls and aisle. Snowbound in kitchen. I don't see any green or other hue in Agreeble gray, the perfect grayish color. Light French gray in my room, Aww no blue undertones on that gray. It's perfect
I got a sample of this and going to try it on our new door trim since they are Satin finish. I have lots of light in my living dining space and just installed CaliBamboo Mocha engineered flooring. I hope it works. We’ll see.
We will need to repaint soon, because we tried to match our paint color at many stores and have failed. Tried to guess ourselves and failed. People who lived here before us, had the house painted by a company a few months before we moved in. Been here 3 years with 4 kids and can’t even touch it up in spots because the matches are so off. This might work I’m going to get a sample. A little nervous about seeing blue.. we have agreeable grey in our dark basement and it looks good we might use that just slightly too dark for me
I love City Loft and Agreeable Gray, both! The home we just purchased in sunny Arizona has LOTS of natural light, high ceilings, and 1990s travertine. This is where i struggle....the travertine looks pinky/yellow to me, what wall color will go best or should I stay away from the gray/beige? Kitchen cabinets will be a coordinating white of whatever wall color we choose, sofa is a very light gray with navy accents.
i just bought a new construction townhouse in Charlotte NC. The builders painted each unit City Loft in flat. All the trim and doors are Snowbound semi-gloss (both SW products). What do you think as Snowbound as a trim color? I just wainscot'd most of the first floor and will probably paint it Snowbound since it adjoins with the trim and doors. These colors look great with sky blue furnishings and the townhouse could easiliy by decorated in beachy/cape cod theme. Floors are dusty gray wide plank, similar to the color of weathered cedar shake homes of Nantucket and Cape Cod
So if you do have a home with Tuscan counter tops but the cabinets are light maple. The cabinets and floors are warm maple. I was thinking about Agreeable Beige. I watched your talk on that color. I enjoy your tips. Thank you.

The thing is my trim is all painted Bohemian Lace By Sherwin Williams HGTV. It is HGSW4052. It is sold at LOWES. I cannot find ONE blog on it. Believe me I have searched for weeks. I am about to paint my Kitchen cabinets and am afraid to paint them different than my trim. Which is Bohemian Lace. My cabinets are a much bigger project and I am afraid to make a mistake. If cabinets are moderate white, trim is moderate white, and kitchen family room not very well lit with natural light, what would be a good color for walls. We have repose grey from another owner and it looks very green to me. Also we have Tuscan (lol) granite that we can’t replace. Would city loft work on the walls? Hi! I had our entire 3000 sq ft home painted with mindful grey @ %50( lighter). We ordered several gallons from one sw store, and when we ran out, the contractor got more from another sw store. Hard to say without any visuals but I would be careful about the gray family of colors (can make your room look darker, not lighter).
Agreeable gray goes good with cherry cabinets
