    Checking files in and out is the only logical way to work. Anyone who seriously thinks that multiple people editing the same file at the same time is a good idea needs to think again.

      It depends on the stage of the file and its purpose. Official process and procedures definitely needs file controls. Collaboration and planning on the other hand can be more fluid.
