I’m trying to upskill in SharePoint and you are the Richard Rost (Microsoft Access) of SharePoint being right up there and I thank you for being so. I now believe the Communication version is what this seventy-year-old needs for a catalogue list of some 230 PowerPoint slides - each slide would be a page - in my kind of Knowledge Base example you use. Bot, but, but would this be searchable to support the links on each page (which will take a person to the required page)? 🙂

You can edit the title by editing the page, click edit top right corner of the page

One downside of creating a knowledge base in SP that I’ve encountered is the lack of user-friendly search features. For example, if we use enterprise keywords, there’s no way to apply a filter and have records with x AND y show up. The results always show records with x OR y. I wonder if you’ve encountered this issue and if so, how you resolved it.

I still consider myself a rookie but I did manage to create a Department page and managed to save it as a Template. Brimming with confidence I then created a second Template ... and nothing happens when I click "Publish".
Any thoughts? ... any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Never mind ... I just figured it out ... my mistake, or as my son might say: " ... was there a loose nut in the operator's chair?..." Yes there was.

How have you added 'Learn More 'option for individual department?

I'm really trying to give modern sharepoint KB experience the benefit of the doubt but the metadata driven architecture and too many styling options just turns into mess. Any necessary metadata that is not forced by a template, is forgotten to be added by the content creator (user) so pages get orphaned. And while we suggest using just one header type and regular text, users use all sorts formatting tricks to make the pages look like kidnapping notes. Managing this requires a full-day editor who circles around the site library and keeps the site metadata and formatting unified.
Yeah sometimes a solution that requires a lot of meta data tagging needs more of a super user to look after the process of you are letting end users submit content it needs to be very simple.

Hello, I am havinf a ms access database I am trying to link it tot sharepoint. but while exporting tables to sharepoint I get error "There was an error copying data to SharePoint List. Cannot update. Database or object is read-only." can you help?
Hey, this would require a lot of investigation to figure out what the issue could be. I would suggest you raise a ticket with your IT support.
The only direction I can give from the above is it could be you do not have the right permission level to the SharePoint site as it mentioned it could be read only. Rather than you having edit access.

What's the difference between the documents file section and useful links section? Isn't it the same concept of linking another file ?
Documents is automated but quick links is manual 👍
