    I am a video editor. I have a 1522+ RAID 5 config. I have a wired 10gbe connection. I just installed 1 SK hynix Gold P31 1TB. Obviously I have it set to read only b/c that's the only option. Will this set up help my editing performance? Do you recommend getting a 2nd 1TB SSD and enabling R/W cache? Will that help my performance even further? Thanks. Bonus question: I know NVME's can slow down if they reach almost full capacity. When setting my cache size, I had 930GB available, I set it to 800GB, which leaves roughly 14% free on the drive at all times. What is your recommendation here? Should I recreate the cache and change it to the full 930GB?

    Brother, I just saw the whole video and the end product. The end was kinda heart breaking but let's be honest, you look at these tables and how much would you pay for them if someone else made them?. Even the nails look kinda crooked, you can do fine woodworking but it's not just heart but attention to details. You will recover and do better, sorry to be that guy but someone told me the same thing a couple decades ago when I started doing metal work and my stuff sells and now I'm looking to vombine metal and wood furniture. Hope to see you grow.

    Probably pulling the trigger on this one, was curious your thought on the 2 speed version? What's the point, I can not see needing a second speed, but didn't want to miss out if there was a reason for it. I imagine its simply faster when you have to do a lot of small passes? Thanks for the video.

    • @TDSheridanLab
      @TDSheridanLab 5 дней назад

      Off the top of my head I’m not familiar with the 2 speed unit. I bought this one specifically for the helical cutter head being better than traditional knife based units. If the 2 speed version is a knife based unit then you still have the downsides of knife based units just at 2 speeds. If it’s a helical head unit then I don’t know what the advantage is. Speed has never been the issue with this unit. My “issues” have been around wrestling giant pieces through it in my cluttered garage and keeping everything level. Speed hasn’t factored into that yet.

    • @Room1sixtyfive
      @Room1sixtyfive 2 дня назад

      2 speed is a banger, a neighbor bought all wen stuff (couldn't laugh more) and has the planer with the 2 speed and showed it to me and it sounds solid. The fast speed removes material fast and the lowest speed removes material with a better quality, I bought the tracksaw and tracks for 118 after taxes and the planer is next.

      Depends on coding for what. If you’re doing apple dev then the windows computer is instantly ruled out. Office is the same on both. Vs code is the same on both. This is awesome, except it would be significnatly more relavent to replace Adobe Sign if you could actually request signatures through Power Automate. • @TDSheridanLab

    • @TDSheridanLab
      @TDSheridanLab Месяц назад

      The AP22D can be a router as well. The best solution would be to separate out your wireless from your router and then buy 2 Access points (ideally from Aruba Instant On). By using business grade equipment the like this the wireless networks can act as one and work with each other. If you were to use an Aruba AP to extend the wifi off your router then the routers wifi signal and the Aruba AP's signal would look the same but be separate and possibly fight with each other.

    • @TDSheridanLab
      @TDSheridanLab Месяц назад

      My transfer speeds weren't directly impacted. I verified Synology's statement "SSD caching doesn't help sequential transfers" In my house i have 1 gig wired networking through out the house, Wifi 6 Aps, and the synology is configured in a 2, 1 gbps nic LAG group on the switch. I've always been able to max out 1 gig connectivity to the NAS. With my 4 drive set up I could almost max out 5 gig networking if the NAS supported it mathematically speaking. For file transfers the only thing the SSD does is, that while your doing your large file copies it can smooth out other items at this same time. For example I can copy a RUclips project file thats anywhere from 30-100gbs in size at full speed while my daughter watches frozen on plex without any slow downs of either process. This is from the SSD caching for the transcoding and the LAG set up i have on the NAS and Switch. What problem are you trying to solve?

    Free wood is free wood. Let alone free OAK, even white oak, is FREE! For us poor people, we take what we can get.

    Macbooks with intel processors from almost 10 years ago are still being used for simple stuff. The M1 Macbook Air is going to run Apple Intelligence, that not even the iPhone 15 can do… let that sink in.

      Are being used and should be used are 2 very different things. Also mobile devices have a shorter 5 year life cycle compared to the Mac computer 7 year life cycle.

      @@TDSheridanLab I missed my shot at someone dumping their festool by me, lol. are you gonna be using it on some slabs and cookies? If so, grab the mikita or the festool for the depth

    I'm doubtful about the efficacy especially after some months... Only using water cleaning the mild grease layer you have sometimes due to car pollution... weird. I'd expect it to smudge stuff all over. Also what happens if you take that cloth, wet it/the window and wipe with it is it as effective and is it more effective than your normal wipe you use for windows? If so then the secret is in that cloth

      It’s not a secret, it’s just automating manual work. I live in the suburbs so I don’t factor in car pollution as a cause of the dirt on my windows. I suppose it’s a consideration but just regular dirt being blown around is higher on my list. You could climb up in a latter and manually scrub the window with the robots cleaning cloth, but that’s super inefficient and defeats the point of buying the robot. The advantage of the robot is that you can place it on bottom corner of your windows and it will climb on its own to reach all the spots of the window. In the video, you can see I have a number of large windows on the second floor of my house. My choices are using a pole washer, climbing up very high on a latter, or paying a service. For the cost of one service visit, I bought a robot that can do it for me by using a latter at a safe and comfortable level.
